Osmo Pocket 3.

That's my thoughts too, as no camera will be perfect on a budget (heck, even with unlimited budgets, cameras are still not perfect!). 
So I'd loosen up on a requirement, such as FF, and get the Sony FX30, the very best S35 camera made by Sony for filming with that won't also require an AC. 

What about the FX30? OK, not FF... : ) Mine is coming from FL to NJ nowadays and IMO it is the best bang for the buck capable of 4K 120fps without overheating... ; ) Well, I'd dare to say, not only to my book LOL ;- )

The a7IV comes off pretty well in this video.
Mind you, so does everything he shoots with !
 
 

I bought an A7Cii + 20-70 F4 G purely for travel use, and its since become my main camera for everything.
The jump in AF quality over the A74 is notable.

Shoot it with a P4K and invest the leftover with affordable gear and the best budget glass you can buy, locations you can get, promising talent, a competent crew of your own and at your side and last but not least, solid marketing.
This is what this brand means to this camera industry and crafts somehow related to, not necessarily committed with and uniquely for the sake of a business.

if you have only $30 grand, are you going to buy Sony burano, or Venus 2, or Alexa mini lf/65, or red raptor, or this 16k bm? why?

I really don´t care about any orange man. But thanks a lot.
I´m not talking about film features with worldwide distribution, but the big releases instead, where you have discussion about the camera, similar to Fraser talking about the LF, or Deakins talking about the Alexa. I don´t doubt the Cameras being used on a lot of movies and productions (I really like what BMD is doing ever since the OG BMCC), but they´re no talking point in a way, that elevates them to being a new, central player in that field.
I see directors and DPs talking about Cameras and Lenses, but I´m still waiting for them to geek out for the Blackmagic Cameras. 
All I´m saying is, that with the 17k cine, there´s quite the potential to take that step and I´d like to see that. And yeah, that Red overall and that 3k for 3k really wasn´t what it was supposed to become. So BMD really took that place with ease.

Sure, $30k seems a lot for a camera, but if I don't spend that, where am I going to get content for my 17K TV?  🙄

Making an 2 nm chip that allows you to do what an iPhone or an A7SIII, a Z9 or an R1 does costs bazillions of euros to design and build. And who pays for it? Us! And where are the profit margins? In the number of gadgets sold.

I have both and use both a lot at the same time... and the quality of Osmo is noticeable better. The iPhone image breaks a part sooner and is more cocked/fake imo.
Today I did use both as C and D camera and Osmo wins in quality. I use both in their "Log" but no ProRes as is a pita.

Announced today for IBC and available "shortly after" the show.

It has two to seven stops of ND and integral clear filter.
Its not particularly cheap at $599 (compared to Meike's take on the EF to E with variable ND) but it has the advantage of not having to swap out to a clear filter like the Meike does.
I'm guessing that this should be able to stack with the Megadap E to Z adapter so its an option for Nikon shooters too.

There is not an equivalent for iPhone, an option would be one of this suction one but not sure how good it is. 

As the MIMO app can already control the pocket gimbal and the Ronin App has the gyro logic it would be a week max for DJI to code and test this feature. I dropped a couple of comments in the official dji forum a few months ago... not holding my breath...
 

This might be worth looking into this to map a physical controller to operate the virtual controls in the app.
The DJI mic can remotely start/stop the Pocket 3 so it does make me wonder whether the capability is there for gimbal control too that is not used.
I quite fancy getting a Pocket 3 so if I do then I’ll be sure to, erm, “investigate” that avenue as well as the data between the app and the camera.
 

They should make a pro version with dual lens and aperture control! I used to have a Phantom 4 Pro that had 1inch with aperture control and it was amazing not sure why they dropped aperture. Touch could be a bit better, the need of an adapter for tripod is also not great and they should add a gimbal lock mechanism. 
My biggest grip with the pocket 3 is the lack of phone gimbal control using gyros.... the virtual joystick is super bad... I can place the pocket 3 in placed that no big camera would be allowed but controlling it via virtual joystick is not good. All the Ronin have this feature not sure why they did not implement it on the mimo app...

Yes, overheating is exactly my concern, even though with the SSD attached no idea if the issue stands the same way?
