  1. There are workarounds at the hardware level, they can implement though ;- ) About the time to wait for having the camera back to full capabilities back shorter than 6+ hour long? This can be fixed by firmware.
  2. No, it's not like that : ) Take a look on that video report already posted in this thread twice! Nothing about the overheating now. Of course, this is related to hardware, design and lack of heat dissipation. It's all about the firmware on their imposed limitations and time to give full capabilities back. 6+ hours long !! Are they kidding us?? @herein2020 you beat me for a couple of minutes! ;- )
  3. Seems crippled by the firmware in order to protect their high-end, so let's be optimistic they will stop to be jerks and give us what the technology is able for to begin with. This cat-mouse game does NOT dignify the brand. As good customer of theirs (aside cameras, we are currently using a C500 in a feature film + three short films to be shot in Santander, Spain and I still have 2x units of a large format printer as workhorses, let alone another half-dozen of Canon units around), I expect a change.
  4. Already posted a few pages back. If they won't address it, they're shooting their own feet. It doesn't make ANY sense. It is even plain ridiculous. And it is not noble for the brand. They could have fixed, they candidly didn't want it. It doesn't matter how loyal we are to or dislike Canon, it is simply true.
  5. I am not a loner cowboy. Last time I checked the film crews I've participated we had created a few dozens I've produced, among other stuff where I try my best. If you'll follow my signature or even my posts, you'll find what you're looking for. I see where you're coming from but you ask without any business card? This is a random triple portion of mine: Where are yours BTW?
  6. It doesn't mean you don't have a point you actually have. They still cripple it anyway. Overheating is there for purpose. They didn't want to write a different plot. Their effort, if any, is far to be enough.
  7. Nah, there are obviously limits they impose either at zero care for proper heat dissipation or not letting the full camera capability extend it to their own boundaries. Go a few posts back in this same page and follow the video report I posted (for some reason I did it), before to start inferring anything.

    Low light

Well, there's a difference between low light and no light... ; ) Nothing we can't handle with fast glass and modern sensors, even going along a small size such as MFT is : ) I've handled live music concerts very well, though, I don't feel need much else further. I am a nocturnal shooter anyway. Ten years ago I was already taking the smaller format factor of a GH1 on behalf of my 5DII, even for stills any time. Night shots. Good fast glass is your friend and makes the whole trick. Without mention a slower shutter speed option route when needed but that's also because fits the shooting style of my bill. Different strokes for different folks. Marketing is a bit slow to catch me yet :- D
  9. Indeed, I believe a workaround is anyhow inevitable. It doesn't make any sense, otherwise.

    Low light

I never go above ISO 3200 on my P4K with two stops of difference in-between, go figure! :- D
  11. LOL This is a real user's experience from real world... :- )

    Low light

PS: The same applies for the previous a7s series generation(s)... ;- )

    Low light

This is pretty much everything I need, even though, P4K or GH5s as you wish fills the cup (no need looking for any new extra capture device to arrive there): Abraço Francisco! (E :- )
  14. It's yet too early to know if we've failed in this long waiting... ; -)
  15. Absolutely. You know why I put the R5 on the table? 8K > 6K -> large format for hybrid use 4K 120fps IBIS AF Because art is also opportunity and the right tool is the one you can have with you and use it. If for some reason, you won't be able to get that shot just fine, goes right away to the basket. E : -)
  16. X-T4? And doesn't you face any sort of overheating as people report especially going on with slow motion? It only works with EF lenses... Looks like they can extend glass sales for new adopters ; -)
  17. In short, yes. Approved camera lists are meaningless, at least to me. Respectable, but just part of the marketing game ; ) A (good) hint, as you wish. No more, no less. Important is that your DoP feels comfortable with. He/She MUST approve it, count on it :- )
  18. If fits your expertise, your content will be the variable. Everything else, secondary. Your standard can and should take in consideration their approved cameras list if you'll work directly from a budget raised with their own money. Otherwise, if they will take your content, they don't give a damn what camera you shot your product with. Netflix or anyone else. Even BBC I'd say, the most complicated people because of their technical & engineering staff reputation. They push a bit their envelope further but not enough to veto your content unless you messed up around the whole thing. But then, you're in trouble from scratch : D Craft is key. I'll give you an example: As producer, I would trust on Dennis @deezid and hire him. He would tell me the camera he would like to shoot and work with, just in the case the producer or director hadn't proposed him a camera system and workflow to begin with. Well, if our budget wouldn't tell to all of us in advance... LOL That is, the level of expertise : ) In a line... that's all about that: content (1). Two lines? It is surely supposed your craft (2) won't fail. Cameras are non-primary.
  19. I see lot of people have a romanticized idea how the distribution or the film production is made. One thing is the 'Originals' label, the other one is the content previously produced. If you're luck enough the aggregator you hired got success to gather their interest, they will hardly care about the technical specs of your piece other than how you'll deliver it to them. That's the quality of the craft they're looking for, definitely not the camera. It's just strictly from a geek option route starting cult. Any reality to back it? Makes little sense to none.
  20. In Netflix, their executives look for pictures from aggregators who pitch the content, not cameras. This is not-variably just a mere fuss from a bunch of camera geeks, who keep dreaming to be the next discovery to be found directly within their catalogue.
  21. It's funny, I haven't seen Canon fanboys over here, really : ) The owner of the site is brand agnostic and known for a very particular criticism of his own to also comprehend Canon, so where are they? : D On the contrary, we cannot exactly say the same about their detractors over these same pages, isn't it? ; -)
  22. I really doubt this second body model will ever see the day. They have the C series for motion picture, their offer -- for the role of your workhorse. Accordingly a higher price to pay for. Only a workaround can save the grace IMO.
  23. To be brand agnostic can be the right medicine... : ) Just sayin' ; ) Let's focus on topics and not throwing stones to whoever has a different opinion from ours, please? :- ) We won't nor need changing the planet or opinions of the rest of the world.
