  1. Don't sweat it! There will always be naysayers... ; ) Finding anything to try proving your grass is less greener. @mercer Glenn, time to book your GH5 series driving test! Lucky boy, they only released two versions! ;-)
  2. Fanboyism is almost a miracle without grace ; ) Go Canon go! They say Panasonic "brings massive low light improvement" on dual native ISO. Before, the excuse were the skintones or the typical sensor size specs of a smaller format as 4/3". Now in times of SB and accurate VLog and other tricks, what else? ;-)
  3. They are very distinct cameras to my eyes. Very true though. GH5 is easier to mimic the sister under certain circumstances. Nonetheless... go figure for street cinematography or landscape by night... ...here's the other side instead:
  4. Here's something interesting on topic: https://prolost.com/blog/2008/3/2/exposing-to-the-left-vs-exposing-to-the-right.html https://digital-photography-school.com/exposing-to-the-right/ And from the forum: https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/25790-what-about-underexpose-a-tad-bit/ So that one about the Sony sensor was plain BS... LOL Intriguing r(h)umor! Thanks David for that link! :-)
  5. Your in your own. Will a7S Mk III have an internal 10-bit 4:2:2 400Mbps codec? Does a7S have it? What about 4K60p?
  6. No need. Reason why GH5s is actually the utmost 4K camera for its price. Like MGM's lion... bigger than life ;-)
  7. Indeed. Same scope here. But beyond the eye means the whole idea behind the (concept of) art (itself), isn't it? People here seem love natural and all that stuff. There isn't such thing as undeniable truth when we talk about arts, correct? ;-) Nature is not all that beauty. And if it is, there's no such beauty like nature of art when reaches that pattern.
  8. I believe the GH5s lower resolution will grant less sharpness on it. GH5s is a better acquisition device. Just not so hybrid. And period :-)
  9. Your camera examples have no IBIS nor high ISOs performance for low budget production, right Simon?
  10. Cinema is by nature unnatural, truly fake :-)
  11. No way to achieve IBIS and high sensitivity outcome -- a plus for low cost cinematography going on towards that direction. My only beef is that 500 bucks as extra charge is actually exorbitant; I'd even add as abusive this manufacturer or the usual suspects like Sony or Canon fail to explain.
  12. Well, only a pity perhaps. But, you can always buy two GH5 + GH5s camera units (my deal, actually) for the purpose ;-) Not uncommon a shooter to handle two camera bodies BTW. Before color and B&W; higher ISOs and resolution + IBIS today. As simple as that.
  13. Nothing fast glass coupled to any SpeedBooster won't reasonably solve... ;-)
  14. LOL You're going perfectly fine with your GH series unit. To update the tool won't add a trade-in value to the skills of the user; only to take advantage from there. On the edge :-)
  15. I could bet you may have found now your next * low * rezzed love anyway... ;-)
  16. C'mon Glenn, almost everyone of us could have the right to the same from Luke ;-)
  17. Surely not once you have no higher resolution for... That's a GH5 extra. We all need to accept the whole thing from it. They are two different cameras. As someone already said it tonight: that's an alternative, far from being a replacement; hence the "s" tag instead.
  18. That requires to be corrected... Actually, three stops and a half as far as it is possible to find out here:
  19. Yes, it is a pity but it is what it is... Seems we can't have everything in the same package. Native dual ISO oblige. Nothing we can't do about it.
