Make Art Now also got a reasonable frame with the Insta360 Ace Pro by putting a diopter on it to shorten the focal distance:

But, in the end, it's what's in front of the camera that matters 🙂

Lurking these boards these cold days over here since I unfortunately had the loss of my life... one's of very own* mourning path, last month* : (

...it's rewarding to see that our posts from more or less recent past don't go away so unnoticeable at least over here, after all:

Just to give my regards @kye and to the rest of the gang :- )

  2. Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, etc., who cares? They are all face of the same coin IMHO.

Only rare ones remain for now to my book, for some reason I am a Blackmagic customer and happy camper TBH : )

To me, they are the flagship of this business today, for us indies of such particular industry as the segment of this craft is :- )

  3. *passionate camera manufacturers (pardon my dyslexia : D) but passionate manufacturers, well, you can guess it will hardly be forgotten and found so soon again ;- )

That is great news for consumers and further increases my desire to switch to Nikon.

    Consumers? Prosumers? Or craftsmen/professional players? ; )

I usually tend to mistrust of corporate goodwill... Really : )

Jim and Jarred have been camera passionate manufacturers. Who else now?

Guess I'm bound to now:) What's that fugly confused emoji for under my beautiful post? You are in trouble now. 😊

haha blame these "fantastic" AI-like tools of today! I wanted to click to let it expressed a 'big thanks like' as not so rare about something coming from yours or @kye or@mercer among some other favs of mine and the damned button on my touchscreen went to some 'confused like' instead... and "they" even call it intelligent world we all live in nowadays where machines click on our behalf if we don't stand corrected them as next follow-up ; ) sorta policeman 24/24 : P

Let the machines rule over our heads and we will see all where we'll end : X

  6. When I see someone to ask why or if this or that camera is Netflix or BBC (for those old-timers hehe) approved... I wonder to myself if such individual knows what he or she is exactly doing along so complicated industry... LOL : )

To be professional is to know how to control this anxiety to begin with ;- )

Short film directed and written by Jessica Yu-Li Henwick who has starred in various big budget productions for cinema and tv, such as "Game of Thrones" or "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery". She is also acting in the leading role. The film was shot pretty barebones on a Xiaomi 11 with a gimbal being put to use.

Here is a very cool interview, talking about finding the right DP, why she shot on a phone and requirements to film without extra lenses or big accessories. Also about scheduling and preparing the shoot while being on set starring in "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" and where she drew inspiration from for her film.

Great interview and insight about the filmmaker, her film and her process. I really enjoyed film, cinematography and image quality as well. The other film above my post looks equally appealing to me btw. So here are the article and interview with Jessica Yu-Li Henwick:

Wait! Not listed as one of the Netflix authorized (Approved... no less, insane!) cameras?? Really? No way! Who wants such crap of device? *cough cough* Who will buy to exhibit it anyway? LMAO hehe

Sorry guys, couldn't resist! Marty is one of those who will fully understand me! Fortunately, not the only one! ;- )

  8. Indeed and shame on the assholes running their chairs there in the native company! I have nothing against to those who have bought it : ) I mean, forget the case of the ressurection of Rolleiflex... : D To not cry here!

The killers are those who let it happen, true criminals... Unfortunately people have no memory and no clue how to run a business other than cleaning their arses :- )

At times, along an agreement we don't necessarily have the best we want but what is possible to deal full of trade-offs.

It's a pity to see that name there. It hurts.

People should be responsible for their own actions, not to see such brand value to be thrown into the gutter. A bummer, the brand equity too.

    Nice posts BTW.

    Not necessarily...

If the brand is out of date or has negative connotations, then it makes sense to either modify it, or kill it and start again.

That's not killing : ) No one can kill what by itself is already killed ; ) In any case, who or what let it to be killed is still out of the tune, i.e., plain stupid, so the premise stands. To erect a brand  is not a little thing. The problem is many of those who do it have no clue at all about it :- )

Many of players working in this industry and many others by the way are full stupid. The trouble I see here or in other places is that many geeks like us because they feel it that way tend deify their stupid decisions and justify them like they are not.

  10. I am all pro small devices...

BTW currently in love with the (sharp) 8K 24p AcePro without mention some usual handy simple tricks to make it closer to a full camera experience so, why not smartphones and alike? ; )

The fact stands though, no matter what:

Is there a much more significant experience that the pleasure impact other than handling a real camera with a lens attached and full control through a lens ring?

    Now once again, Samsung.

Pity they had abandoned the way (forget the British blonde and focus on the leftover as myself these days collecting a few of those glass marvelous pieces plenty of technology : ) camera users could find the pleasure to hold a lens and discover how it is everything connected with organic form factor shooting much more than just point and shoot.

After all, the writer makes the words as much as exquisite cuisine distinguishes from fast food.

Who like me loves or knows how to appreciate an Italian ice cream or Michelangelo Antonioni as for instance, knows very well what I'm taking about ;- )

I've been chatting with @mercer about it and we think it's the same sensor as the P4K.  The sensor specs that we've looked at all line up between the two cameras.

Same impression going on here... Looks funny the first footage seen over here is not from a studio setup! LOL Looks like they should have trading names between both models instead : D

One aspect of this camera I'm particularly interested in is the AF.

Curious to check it accuracy too... ; ) Seems this one is what the other one has missed to be, size and convenience ;- )

  13. Didn't test the 2.5K hack yet. I know of a supplier to sell them for rather cheap... : ) Anyone can write me in private just for the case to be interested to buy 1 or the 7 units in stock! :- )

What do you like about the NX500s so much? I've always been curious about the bitrate/low rolling shutter hack. Have you tried it?

This camera model has arrived to my hands because of the 3D feature going along 45mm f/1.8 and fell immediately in love for the retro look and form factor. Love its small size. The 1.6x crop of the 4K mode doesn't bother me at all when there are good wideangle zooms you can add there such as Tokinas 11-20mm f/2.8 or my 11-16mm f/2.8 (PL mount mod).
