No, it isn't. You are right on that one :-)
-
Sure, it is. I meant for these type of devices and one-man-show shooting style designed by and for the shooter/buyer. AF related. They must have some kind of autofocus anyway. We can call AF to the automatic follow focus tool going along with GH5, but we can't exactly tell the same as far as follow focus goes, hence manual focus technique, actually, is. To my usage and taste too. Accurate tap-to-focus available on touchscreen is enough for me.

Sorta autofocus* (if/when accurate) multi-focus points seems pretty enough to me (info @ minute 3:50): * tap-to-focus is the most reliable technique for moving image IMHO where you can really select the subject to focus (random focus is pure nonsense)

...is coming: https://www.techradar.com/news/the-best-8k-tvs-spotted-at-ifa-2018 Hard to believe they will release the next GH series toy going on 8K parade: http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/19798/panasonic-gh6-first-rumors#Item_1 On the other hand, they will quickly need it or how do they sell such display sets? (Samsung will have them in my domestic market until this Christmas in-between 65"-85") Ready for?

Indeed, hard to beat that GH5 beast : -)

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Well, still on AF, here says: "Both cameras are equipped with a Z bayonet, while the Z6 will receive a stabilized 5-axis sensor with a resolution of 24.5 MP and a 273-point focusing system, and the more advanced Z7 is a 45.7 MP sensor with a similar stabilization system and AF at 493 points." https://www.diyphotography.net/nikon-z6-and-z7-specs-and-price-leaked-yes-they-have-5-axis-ibis/ -

So why more appropriate? -
Either way and side of feedback, vote count is still vote count... LOL : -)
-
Fortunately, they didn't. E : -)

Indeed. Just wait and they'll release both models in a premium one. I bet the shots you can get with the zoom as B-drone may not justify the outdated investment in a few months. I wouldn't dare to infer the same about the PRO version available now and from today on, though. A unique piece of its kind.

Do they really hate it? Hadn't noticed actually. This my-dick-is-bigger-than-yours approach is so annoying to any middle-class mind, oh dear : ) Mandatory : -)

... And here's one of my favs of this baby to rivalry with Pocket 4K the title of 'product of the year' IMHO: Two tips for the best outcome to extract from these birds... As @Robert Collins has wisely hinted up there, go soft blurring your footage @post towards the right balance as much as necessary (use PotPlayer + Ctrl / R to preview the whole thing for this last sample as you wish) and don't throw away the chance coming already from the previous first generation going along with tap to focus to pair and mitigate the issue; from minute 3:45 on: (you'll see how non-sense the sharpness mantra can be; strictly under a very meaningful cinematic perspectve when it is where the unexpurgated frugal concept of beauty itself rises and stands -- funny and pretty ignorant times we're living in : P)

It's all about color science @post too. No rocket science. Cameras are only a tool, not 'the' tool : -)

Ditto. I'd simply be fucked off with everyone of my partners I've suggested to shoot on Blackmagic cameras from 5 years now. Feature film projects all included. Who have asked for skin tones BTW...? LOL : -)

Nice trees and water rendering BTW : ) I find it pretty useful to not say awesome to be honest :-)
-
https://camerasize.com/compare/#698,782 Now accurate : ) Would even be much more if that battery would be placed in-between. Perception counts, not only maths :-)

Here's why Jon's here : ) This help and kind of contributions totally make this forum. Glad Andrew @Andrew Reid cut off the counterproductive (to all readers) and unfriendly downvote option :-)

Don, Vaunt project is dead... :-(

Paul Watzlawick said "...it is impossible not to communicate". Right : ) Even though, this doesn't mean product won't arrive in time. Hook just can't be Grant Petty not even for a while ; -)
-
Yeah, be welcome Hook : ) Nice to see you around over these boards now. @CaptainHook : -)

Just their past timeline for September from NAB back 4 months now, I guess. Unfortunately, this won't happen, I'm afraid. Or we had already seen the first footage so far. Keep the hype up until a new update late August or even along September... with the first bytes of imagerie to come then, I bet. : -)

I concur : ) For some reason, came to my mind Tarkovsky and his Katok i Skripka... aka The Steamroller and The Violin

I had a deep loss today... a dear uncle of mine 89-years old and a half (eight months and twenty one days of his last year of life to be more precise), one of the best friends a fortunate man -- his nephew had, passed away this July 27th. I got the idea I didn't spend enough time with him in these last years of his light in my personal experience, inner circle and course of life. Don't lose any chance with your closest ones... (just a thought, just my sad two cents) - E.

As matter of fact, no idea how it is in your countries... But, here in Europe there's no sense to buy a new TV set unless UHD. It is the market to determinate that. Full HD display technology is just outdated. You can buy a 40-55" TV set (UHD) for 400 euros, so... People should stop to worry about resolution or even refrain to discuss such topic. 4K came to stay. There's nothing strange about that. As much natural as digital or when DVD replaced VHS. Wonder why or trying to praise the old technology doesn't make any sense, because lower resolution is merely old. Nothing against that. Horses for courses, though. We are not comparing apples to oranges. It is not 35mm film versus UHD. I much prefer to watch an old movie in a remastered copy on my 4K display from a new 4K source than a lower resolution copy. 4K is here to help you out, not to make lower acquisition look like bad. That's the whole point : ) This is not a competition. Technology is here to offer a better outcome. Only that : -)
