Tony Anastasi reacted to Jonesy Jones in Kinefinity hands on at NAB 2016
These are the questions and responses I have gotten so far. If you have more let me know.
Are there plans to expand their international sales channel and expand dealership of their cameras? Yes, in discussion with distributors at this time. Already in Europe hdvideoshop.com. How do English speaking countries get support for the cameras (with a language barrier?) Apparently they will use a distributor for that.  Do they have a license to use ProRes and if not, when do they expect to get it? Prores license comes in parts apparently, and they have some parts of the license, but not all, working on final part. Does the global/rolling switchable shutter work in any protoypes/models? If so, is there a significant quality difference? Still working on global shutter switch, other than DR almost the same quality in global. Is there any loss in quality using Hi Speed modes, and if so, what will be compromised? (Resolution, noise, moire, aliasing). 1-2 stop loss in HFR, cab compensate a bit with ISO reduction Is every frame rate/resolution on the cameras available in both Raw and ProRes? yes, all resolutions and slo mo What is the functionality of the KineGrip? How long can a Sony battery power the camera for via the grip? Still working on Kinegrip, not here at NAB. 1.5 hours, res dependent How long does the Terra take to boot? 10-20 seconds How much more weight will the KineBACK and regular V-lock add to the overall camera? They didn't have an answer. Maybe they'll let me take it off the working model. What is the native ISO? 800 HFR 400 If I was to pre-order the camera, when can I expect to receive it? Summer/autumn, but someone else said a month, but I would lean toward Fall 2016 for the 5K, just my impression. What cost are we looking at if I order the camera with a Kinemount and an extra adapter? (Like EF or PL)? 5k $5000 body-$7000 package, 6K $6000 body-$8000 package, they're speed booster/enhancer is $300. Does the 6k model have a 5k mode? If so, why not? probably not, don't know why. Are lower resolutions and Hi-Speed modes crops of the sensor or can they be used with the full Super35 image area? windowed for raw, full frame for Prores, though at launch will be crop/windowed and will add full sensor readout later in firmware. What is included in the Wi-Fi functionality? What can we control? Every setting can be controlled with iPad, works now, iPhone and android still developing OLPF? internal OLPF, but not interchangeable Buttons? The feel legit, but you can press and rotate them.   So that's why they looked crooked. But he specifically said they were preproduction buttons and this won't be an issue on production models. Overall. The camera looks and feels pro status. Solid, but light. Fan is nearly silent, but the camera isn't recording. Haven't seen it record yet. I've only seen the 6K, since they are just using the sensor from the Kinemax. RS looked bad on the screen, but could that be a combo of refresh lag? 5K will be same size and weight as 6K. They don't have most of their accessories here, so it's hard to judge those.  Ok. I'll probably look at all the comments and ask more questions later. Let me know. I'm also trying to convince them to let me borrow a unit to test. Wish me luck.

If you could go by the Samsung booth and just say.... What the Fuck guys.... WHAT THE FUCK lol.
Apparently they do have a booth so if you could go by there and take some pictures of the professional broadcast level fridge camera that would be great. Thanks

Found something decent shot on the Kinemini 4k - nice and organic looking.
Also love the use of lenses in this short.

im a private facebook group by max y with about 1700 peeps talking about their a6300. they are coming out with tiny fans and heatsinks, leaving battery doors open ( or cracked off )  and hack'd dummy batteries etc- all sorts of hacks to cool their a6300s down to get 3hr recordings etc.. crazy stuff and their hacks are working.. shouldn't really have to resort to hardware hacks though..

cool, that's pretty much the only reason i have really for shooting in 4k mode.. so that means.. but you got to plan ahead for the shot to do this..
I won't be able to use it to face track and automatically follow a presenter on stage and keep him in a tight frame by face tracking
i use coremelt'd fcpx trackerX plugin so i don't have to manually do this for three hours hehe maybe a few years before they combine facetracking and this crop incamera auto zoom stuff together haha

Yeah the DPReview "Mighty but small," review touches on it a bit. And yes it uses the 4K image to do this for 1080p.

I even bet the 5D4 won't beat the A6300, but I'm not sure it needs to.
It won't have more resolution (almost certainly much less) but it also won't overheat in the middle of shooting a once-in-a-lifetime BTS interview with Tom Cruise or something. I have friends who do that kind of stuff and they've had to switch back to cameras with a worse image (despite spending more to get less) because A-listers have little patience and probably don't know what aliasing is.
And so.... this argument is fruitless. The 80D is a great low end "pro" camera because it's reliable and the image is good enough to sell (the 7D was used extensively on national ads and still occasionally used as a B camera on major tv series). For resolution enthusiasts, there are lots of other options, though. So are you an artist or a hack? Sounds like you're an artist. Not me.
I'll take hack if the day rate is higher and it's an amicable team. Even on my own recreational projects I don't want to waste time in post or on set. But kudos to people on both sides. Just because I don't have the finances or financial freedom to up my game doesn't mean I don't want to. Artists and hacks both have valid motivations, and even Spielberg money won't bridge that gap. Good luck convincing anyone to switch sides because they won't easily....
The A6300 probably has a sharper image than the Alexa 65, forget a Canon dSLR. If what you're after is technical excellence you've found it. Sure there's tons of skew, it breaks down on set, and the color is hideous unless you control it carefully–but the resolution is breathtaking and with enough patience and care in lighting you can work around the rest. But some of us are broke and need that paycheck. And worse yet we're lazy. Living wage is $80k/year in my market. Once that's paid for, I'll consider trading up. For now... if it pays, that's what counts.
So I salute the 80D guys. I even want one because it seems so easy to use I can save on crew and pay myself more. But I also think it's sort of criminal that we still put up with such a soft picture, and that Canon won't offer more. All I need is GH2 sharpness and 80D everything else and I'm sold.
Weird... really weird... that that isn't available even now. It should be.

Just because the couldn't get gs working as well as they would like for the current cameras doesn't mean you won't see it in the future, like for example the over due Ursa 4.6K turrets ?
I think BM had to draw a line and ship the UM4.6K because for the vast majority of users the RS is perfectly acceptable for most users, while they keep optimising it.

Apparently BM specced it out themselves, it's a custom chip not an off the shelf one.
There's a reason none of the major manufacturers are using global shutter apart from Sony as seemingly a weird one off on the F55. It is a long way off yet when it comes to image quality.
