Any recommendations for Contax To Nikon F Mount adaptors?

Has anyone got any recommendations for the best CY to Nikon F Mount adaptors?

 

There seem to be a few different makes about, but some don't focus to infinity and I think the Fotodiox one contains a glass element, so I'm not sure how good it is.

CY mount: 45.5 mm from sensor

 

F Mount: 46.5 mm from sensor

 

No glass means nowhere near infitiy focus, glass element means loss of quality.

 

I'd rethink the plan TBH...

You have to modify the lenses. google for "leitax contax nikon". They only have adapters for MM versions.

I wouldn't want to modify the Contax lenses as I need them for other cameras.  The Leitax mount is firmly screwed to the lens, IIRC.

 

It looks like I should just stick to F mount lenses.

You can always adapt them from f to whatever mount you want.

Yes, I hadn't thought about that. I don't know if that would decrease the resale value of the lenses.

If you dont throw asay the parts you can always convert it back. The only thing to be careful with is to get the right model as not all of them are compatible with the leitax mount.
