  1. Hello everyone, Great to see that there is a dedicated lens section on this lovely forum now! Ironglass, a Ukraine company, that has been offering cinemodded Russian lenses (such as the Helios 44-2) for a number of years is now offering a completely rehoused version of their lenses. I bought the original cinemods back in 2018 and am now thinking of upgrading. So I am familiar with their optical performance, however I would be interested if anyone here has seen these up close and can speak to their mechanical capacity, i.e. how well the rehouse is done. I've seen a number of announcem
  2. Hi, I am selling a Leica Summicron-R f2 50mm lens with Leitax EF mount for $570 plus shipping. I am open to offers. The glass is in pristine condition with no scratches, no fungus, no haze and no separation. The lens is in excellent cosmetic condition as well. The only issue is the front barrel as it has a little bit of play (about 1mm). It is the only reason I am selling. It is an absolute non-issue if you're shooting spherical and it's still usable if you're being careful while shooting anamorphic. The Leitax mount converts the lens to EF mount. It's the best adapter on the ma
  3. For sale Zoom lens 16OPF1-2M-01 f2.4(T3)/12-120mm (Kinor 16CX mount) Sell it because unfortunately it unexpected vignettes at close focus in combination with different zoom and iris settings on BMMCC sensor and i can't accept this. This lens made for 16 mm cinema. It will fit well to Panasonic GH, Ursa 4.6k, RED, Nikon 1 in 1:1 crop mode or to any camera with small sensor, like Pentax Q or 2/3" CCTV camera. Its heavy (1kg), its not perfect zoom as all zooms are. It has its own character, blue-orange abberations at wide open. Front focus ring block was cleaned and greased with HELIMAX-XP g
  4. Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy a Helios 44m-7 lens. I don't trust ebay with this lens as it looks like most are switched plate fakes, unless you know of a reputable seller with one. Also looking to pick up a Tokina +0.4 Diopter, if anyone would like to part with theirs. Thanks!
  5. Earlier i did a test and mini review for this lens. Rare lens for sale. It was made for some kind of reproduction machines and covers huge 12x18 cm frame. Probably another bad copy of industrial Zeiss or Nikkor (as all things done in USSR). It covers 12x18 cm frame, its not super sharp on tiny s16 sensor in regular (not macro) mode. The good thing about this lens is that in macro mode you can be very very far from object. It has perfect round bokeh at any F-stop and very flat and even image area. Works well for macro and for landscape too. Iris is smooth, glass is very clear. If needed i can d
  6. For sale very nice rare vintage OKS lenses set: 15mm f1.8 (T2), 20mm f1.8 (T1.9), 25mm f2.5(T2.7) with Rafcamera Kinor 16CX mount to Micro4/3 adapter. I decide to sell them because most of time i use 20mm lens and 15 mm slightly vignettes on BMMCC, so i thinking to change these 3 lenses to one another lens. Lenses are in nice external shape, glass is clear. The mechanics was serviced, cleaned, and greased with fresh Helimax XP oil. Working very smooth and easy. Declicked iris with 8 blades. Front filter Thread 62mm. Lens weight around 200 grams. I prefer to sell all together as a set
  7. Reaching out to the community here... in a way. Have this video out today showcasing synthwave type music and would have liked more "POV night driving" than I have found under CC terms. If anyone should have some unused footage or got ideas to enhance my vision please contact me. I'm unable to shoot footage myself at the moment. In return for favours I'm more than happy to provide sound or soundtrack if desired. Thanks! :-)
  8. I hope I can get some good advice from you - at least I'm sure I'm at the right place here. Ever since the G6 came out I'm having an eye on it's price. Unfortunately rumour has it that it's not produced anymore and also price drop is stagnating. Because of that I'm thinking of getting it soon. If I had the money, I of course would go for the 14-140mm bundle as a start and later on buy one or two primes to complete the kit but 750€ for the kit is just more than I want/can affort. I was looking for more affordable alternatives for that lens but it seems there are none. So I thought why
  9. Been shooting for about a year now, bought a Sony RX100 when my son was born and the bug bit, both for stills and video. Bought a Sony NEX 5n next to access vintage glass which looked like fun. Have since developed a serious case of LBA, and this particular little video was shot on a Sony NEX 5n with a Helios 44-M 58mm lens. Very much still learning the ropes though:)
  10. I was hoping someone on this forum might be able to let me know what I have come across here. I have acquired what appear to be some pretty neat Canon Cinema lenses. I have been unable to find any information about them online. I was wondering whether they are of any use or value. The models are as follows: Canon J15X8.5B T1.8 Zoom Canon J5X19.5B T1.6 Macro Zoom They seem to be outfitted with PL mounts and are fully manual aside from the removable servo zoom box. These are HUGE and quite heavy. Any input would be fantastic. Thank you! I would attach some photos but I am li
  11. which type of vintage lens is better for a cinema-like image on a g6? would like to stay on one system, thanks!
  12. Hey guys I'm new here.   I recently came upon a Helios 44-2 58mm prime lens and have been very impressed with it's unique character, image quality and sharpness even wide open, especially for the very reasonable price of £4 uk sterling, and it's de-clicked preset type aperture is ideal.   I'd like to complement it with a couple more vintage primes, one around 85mm and the other around 28mm.  I shoot a lot of HD DSLR professionally and often find myself in poorly lit, indoor "rock up and shoot" situations, so the priority for me is to have glass that is fast and stays relati
  13. I have two lenses listed on ebay, both are Exakta mount (EOS, NEX, M43) and are ideal for aperture pulls.   Domiron http://www.ebay.com/itm/130902773154?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fm.html%3Fitem%3D130899559395%26pt%3DUK_Lenses_Filters_Lenses%26_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26hash%3Ditem1e7a38c3e3%26_ssn%3Dtransferconvertcouk%26_nkw%3D130902773154%26_rdc%3D1   Flektogon http://www.ebay.com/itm/130902773057?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D130902773057%26_rdc%3D1
  14. Anyone know anything about this lens?    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Sankyoscope-Anamorphic-1-5X-8mm-movie-lens-Ichizuka-Optical-1960s-/200906477445?pt=UK_Photography_VintagePhotography_VintagePhotoAccessories&hash=item2ec6f58f85
  15. Does anyone know a good site that rates/reviews/values/has information on a wide variety of vintage lenses? Sort of like DPREVIEW.com but for older lenses? I've accumulated a few old lenses from digging around at my parents place, craigslist, and ebay, and am trying to figure out what to keep and what to ditch. I probably don't need all of these, but want to keep the best ones. Here's what I've got if anyone has any tips: vivitar 24mm f2.8 Pentax SMC Takumar 35mm f3.5 Canon Super-Canomatic 35mm f2.5 Canon FD 50mm 1.4 Nikon Nikkor 50mm f2 Helios 44m-4 58mm f2 Jupiter 9
