Sure, but I like the 16mm cameras I already have. And I know a place where they recently sold an Arri 16mm with three PL lenses for €40.
No I did not forget a 0... it was €40.

And the Ikonoskop 16mm at €1400 was also tempting.

Not stupid at all. 4K is totally overrated imo. One of the least important features in a camera.

But I would not want an AF100 and Ive already had an FS100. They are nice but not really up to todays standard imo. Not in IQ not ease of use/features. I have more lenses, mics and lights than I would ever need. But if you dont, I agree. Audio and suport is more important than resolution.

In this thread I was more after the small package cameras, DSLR equivalent. Something to grab when you left your big camera at home. To travel with or do some light Run n Gun. And stills.

5dm3's raw image is gorgeous. The fact that ML has tools missing in much much more expensive cameras (or any camera, for some of them) is the icing on the cake.

The only substantial advantage for the A7sII would be its sensitivity, but for controlled shoots - 5dm3 all the way.

Great camera but hard to ignore the Red One MX for less money and better lowlight.

I would not want any of the cameras listed. My main criteria is that a modern camera has to be a true hybrid, in that it has to be able to take excellent stills in a broad variety of scenarios, and it has to be able to record high quality video. It has to be capable of taking the sorts of stills I make, and at the switch of a button record video of the same scene. 4K without technology related compromises (such as excessive crop factors) is a requisite. I regard any camera that cannot record 4K as technologically obsolete. I want a camera for the future, not the past. In addition to that I also require that it be ergonomically suitable for my hands. Large cameras like the 5D, and giant cameras like the 1D, simply will be rejected purely because of their size. Very small bodies such as the ones Sony tends to make will be rejected because they are too finicky to handle. The ideal dimensions (for me) would be roughly the size of a Rebel. It also has to have reasonable prices (going north of 2K is a deal breaker).

The only camera I have encountered that meets all of these criteria so far is the NX1. The GH4 sort of does it, but it falls short in some areas with stills. The a7RII sort of does it, but falls short in ergonomics (and in any case costs too much). So far no Canon and no Nikon product comes close to my ideal camera. They make specialist cameras but no true hybrids.

D750 is probably the best hybrid for the hobbiest imo. The NX1 is a great video camera and great at stills in daylight. In dusk, dawn and darkness it fails in AF and its no monster in dark video either.
A true hybrid needs to work 24h/day imo.

I doubt you could tell good HD uspcaled from true 4K on places like youtube, and TV don't want no 4K. And I doubt you will shoot for 4K cinema on a hybrid. I can somewhat get the "future" thing but no one will care in the future. I still watch my favorite shows captured in SD and they are just as good today. Regarding personal stuff like travel videos and such, no one is going to watch it in the future anyway.

How so? Red code can be edited in realtime in any editor on a moddest laptop. 

Besides the Red workflow beeing a bit easier and faster I dont see a big difference. When shooting Red and Blackmagic side by side its equal amount of work.
