@tekeelaI haven't tried the Meike lenses but they look great! It looks like they are cheaper Veydras! If you end up picking them up please share some footage!
You could probably save quite a bit of $$ on the filters & Storage. IR isn't a problem you'll probably ever notice. Ive used the Tiffen Vari-ND  at max and only ever noticed it once. I would also go with the 1TB over the 2TB. Im using the 500GB and get 73mins In BMRaw 3:1. DCI 4k 25p.

Yeah 2TB is sort of a dangerous amount of data to put in one basket as they say unless you are doing Documentary's all day, and even then I would not risk all that data on one storage device. Just get 2 or 3 smaller ones. Better way to go. That way you can forget and leave 2 of them at home and really be unhappy lol. That is the first thing you will find out is how much you forget to bring, or Gee I NEED to buy a Heck of a lot more stuff.
Not too fond of using a Monopod with a camera with a touchscreen. And the PK4 is an odd shaped body to start with. Especially a camera you are leaning on. Might get interesting lol. It is damn hard to get a lot of minutes of video unless you just turn it on and sort of walk away. I have been out for hours, and shot 15 minutes of footage, and felt good about getting that. ?

I own the 25mm Meike and enjoy it very much. It's a good, sharp lens, and I plan on buying the 16mm soon. You'll need a follow focus though. The throw is very long and you won't be able to pull focus very well without one.

Looks fine but I'll just say that the two focal lengths you're looking to buy are very similar to each other and I wonder if having a bit more variation might be more useful initially?
I do understand that the 16 and 25 are probably the most common focal lengths that get used, so depending on how you shoot it might be fine.  I'd suggest thinking about what camera angles / framing you're going to have (two-person, one-person-wide, one-person mid, tight, over the shoulder, and b-roll closeups, establishing shots, etc) and how close your camera will be from them (are you shooting on sets, temporary locations in larger rooms, in people's houses in open-plan areas, houses in smaller rooms, open plan offices, individual offices, meeting rooms, locker rooms, etc ) as this combination of shot+distance will dictate the focal length you will need.
For close-ups consider the minimum focus distances of your lenses too.
Also consider that if you're shooting 4K you only have to crop into the 16 about 150% to get 25 (which will be a 2.5K image) and if this is acceptable for you to do so, if you're delivering in 1080 for example, then maybe you get a 35 or 40 instead of the 25.  Or, you get a 12 and the 25, and you can crop in to emulate a 16, and also emulate a 35 or 40 with your 25.
As I said, this is personal, so the only person who can answer it is you, but make sure you've considered that before spending your budget

Let's me to try to be useful
Lenses: T2.2 might not be enough flexible (as exclusive in arsenal); 25mm and 16mm are too close
Filters: That one is pretty expensive and slowing shooting process solution
Monopod: Maybe to try first with some UW lens and see how you manage handheld shooting with it regarding style and possibility

@tekeela Meike are also coming out with a 12mm at some point, could be a great addition! https://www.cinegearpro.co.uk/products/meike-12mm-t2-2-manual-focus-cinema-prime-lens.
I would also hold off on buying the monopod right away! especially such an expensive one. You could try buying a cheap used manfrotto photo monopod on eBay to see if you the shooting style. When I do street stuff I prefer to just be handheld. Im lazy, the less stuff I have to carry the more often ill bring my camera!
Also personally I find T2.2 more than enough for my requirements!

Oh I am not saying Don't use a Monopod at all, but I think you might go with a normal tripod for awhile until you get used to using the camera. I use a Monopod myself at times, but I don't use a Fluid Head on one, and I don't have one with the feet either. One gust of wind, or someone wanting to look at the screen or touch it, or you swinging your arm around, ouch. I think until you get really familiar with it I would stay with a Tripod. Buy the Monopod with the head and just find a good used Tripod on the web or Craigslist. That way you can swap the head between them. I like Tripods with a Half Bowl. It is WAY easier to get the camera level really fast. That adjusting the legs thing is the pits.
Find a Heavy Tripod, and I even hang a Gallon Jug of water off the bottom of them or use something else heavy.  When you are done you just pour out the water and bring the empty bottle home. You can't have too steady of a tripod. The nice thing about a Monopod is they are a lot faster to move, but I have used my Tripod with the legs unfolded and move it around like that. But you can't really pan with one that way.
Everyone has different needs and likes. You will figure out your sweet spot. Video is a Lot different from Photo work for Tripod, Monopod usage. And a nice thing is if you have a nice fluid head you can use that for wildlife better than the normal swing gimbals most use in photography for your photography. A lot more Fluid, pun intended.

It is 2499 euros here (3000 bucks almost) and that XLR thingy someone mentioned starts from 320euros.
The price in difference is vast, and honestly, I do not consider the GH5s a serious photo camera. I need at least 24mgpxls to be safe on photo jobs, I do not know any professionals shooting with such a small resolution (that applies to A7s too), or that wpuld be confident using one for paid jobs.
I double on the menu system. It is really terrible on most cameras, and Sony still has limited touch screen interface. For some of us those 2 count. I have worked extensively with Sony cameras through the years and I hated the experience.
Does anyone know what gimbals are compatible with the Pocket4K? Especially these 2 new Moza and Zhiyun are really interesting.

I see some nostalgia here for the old pocket. It was an interesting camera and a great deal for the time, but it had dozens of issues that this new camera doesn't.
This one appeals to a bigger audience and a lot of young filmmakers (the 21st century kind of) will use these cameras like 16mm/8mm cameras of the past.
This one pushes the democratisation of film making a lot more than, let's say, Canon mirrorless cameras that cost more.

From what I have seen I think the resolution plays the largest factor.  The lower resolution of the og pocket helps to mask other amatuer/video looking things (lighting, colors, composition).  A slight amount of added blur should soften up the image nicely and eliminate most of the difference between them.  (For the record, this would be for narrative work only, if its a documentary you would leave it sharp. Though luckily this proviso is mostly redundant as most people sharpen anyway).
I also think the og pocket may have had a tone curve that is favourable to highlights.    The pocket 4k has different tone curves at different iso's (shown drastically by the dual native iso) so the discerning user will choose the ISO with a tone curve that matches the look they are going for at that particular moment (narrative/documentary), which is a trade off between highlight latitude and noize performance.  In prores the tone curve is baked in,  while the raw iso increments are only metadata but the native iso comes into the equation even in raw, and the chosen iso will indirectly effect how the user chooses to expose.

    Define better.
Weird color, yellow-brown casts, worse dynamic range, way more aliasing and moire problems, lots of noise, fixed noise pattern etc.

    USB C storage:
has anybody with the camera in hand tried custom NVMe ssd + enclosures for external recording?
    Something like this or similar:
    https://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-760

the Samsung 970 Evo are fair priced and really fast toping out at 2500MB/s write speed
And the new released Corsair Force 510 are even higher performing and more aggressive  priced (2TB for less than $500!) and write speeds that exceeds 3000MB/s
the usb interface theoretically tops out at 1280MB/s (if it is 10Gb). Not sure if camera usb bandwidth can handle those speeds but at least the bottleneck will not be the media. And price/performance will be better than cfast for raw (sure, with other inconveniences like have the storage externaly)
    Any opinions, real world experiences?

    cheers

Funny how people on here say they don’t want the camera but still come back to have opinions about it, a camera barely no one has their hands on yet and they probably have never even seen in real life on top of that.

As someone who owns it (and loves it!) and also still owns the OG pocket, I can let you know that with both cameras I get paid 700dollars a day to take pictures with them. Funny right!

    Next week is first day to take pictures with the P4K actually. I have a very simple work flow with it, just load your DNG into ACR and voila! Here’s a load of pictures taken with OG pocket if you wanna have a look;

FWIW, especially shooting in ProRes, I'd avoid shooting in Extended Video.
I did extensive testing with EV vs Film log and there's no reason to take the hit on DR...especially baking it in.
Monitor in EV if you like while shooting FIlm and then it's simply one step to apply EV in post which will look identical on scopes to EV in camera but with the latitide to get the full DR of the new camera.
Also, when shooting ProRes I don't bother with Resolve as FCPX is optimized for it and really fast  - even UHD, even on a MB pro.
Also, if using the EV LUT in FCPX, I've found dialing in to around 30% after balancing initially with the scopes is the sweet spot.

Nope, people will still make great home videos/ low budget films etc on the GH5 once the GH6 is out.

OK, so the GH5s has TC input but you lose IBIS. Which camera are you comparing here?
Yep, needs an iditional add on making it a bigger, more expensive and heavier camera.
    Again, bigger, heavier, more expensive
This is so much more than a codec and it's a massive advantage.

No but it suggests that the materials used are strong.

Last time I checked, FCPX, Adobe Premiere and AE were not included with any Panasonic cameras. Has this changed?
Thats because you can't shoot raw on the GH5. I wasn't all that interested in this feature either when they announced it but having used it, it's actually really handy.
?‍♂️ Good grief.......obviously (or maybe not to some people)  the GH3 was not six years old when I had issues with it. It was less than a year old.

You can use OIS lenses on the Pocket. You can put the pocket on many gimbals. I really don't know where you are getting your info from?
I'm not sure of your background, but I've shot on many cameras from BetacamSP (Manual Focus Only, no weather sealing) to the Red Weapon and Alexa (Again, MF only and no WR) and operated all the cameras without a crew. Just because you don't have AF doesn't mean you need a focus puller. Have you not seen operators pull focus off the barrel while looking through the EVF? It actually works!
Skate videos have been shot without AF for years.

Personally for my work and even just my creative standards, getting the shot but seeing some AF hunt is personally not acceptable to me. I'm pretty happy with how my eyes and focus ability are though and will trust them over AF.

Ive had the camera for two weeks now and used it without a crew. It's an easy camera to operate. I do wish the screen would tilt, it seems a shame to have such a nice big screen and not be able to use it all the time. At the same time, while most mirrorless cameras screens do tilt, I've always found them too small so like to rig a bigger monitor or EVF anyway. Even just the fact that the screen is so big on the Pocket means that using the touch screen is such a joy. Can't say the same about the touch screens I have used on mirrorless cameras.

Ive always maintained that most people don't need RAW due to the large file sizes, hardware requirement etc. 10bit is enough for most people.
After thinking about Blackmagic RAW recently, I've now changed my mind. While large budget productions have much more control over varying conditions, solo shooters do not. A solo shooter has a lot to think about and it's more likely that a solo shooter is going to have to compromise on DR due to not having a gaffer on hand, or is going to forget to set the WB correctly for a shot due to lack of time and having so much to think about. If that shooter could now shoot RAW but in a flavour like BRAW which is easy for most modern computers to handle, can be shot to cheap SD cards and requires less  drive space than many 10bit codecs, then why wouldn't they want that? For run and gun shooters, BRAW makes a lot of sense where CDNG raw didn't. BRAW doesn't make a bad shooter great, but it can be used to fix mistakes easily......Good shooters, bad shooters.....we all make mistakes every now and again.

DBounce, this camera is obviously not for you and you have made that quite clear. I just don't understand why you feel the need to get on the Pocket4K thread and constantly argue about why the GH5 is better. I haven't felt the need to get on the GH5 thread and talk up the Pocket or shit can the GH5. Can we keep this thread about the Pocket4k, it's getting really tiring trawling through pages and pages of silly arguments.
I have made a new thread.....feel free to continue the argument there please. I'd like to converse here and share information with others that want/ have the camera.

I agree, but I haven't seen those statements either.
I have worked extensively with the GH5 and I am 100% sure that P4K will have much better image, like the GH5S has already.
Having the same sensor as the GH5S, a bigger monitor and a much better internal video recorder, with half the price (in my country) making it a very interesting option, don't you think?

You've admitted you've not watched any footage and have no production experience.  You're speaking to an audience here in this thread that has a either a great deal of experience, or lot more experience than you yourself and who have actually bothered to read a little more before posting to an audience of like minded individuals.
Consider researching a little more thoroughly at least before throwing some handgrenades of questions like the ones you dropped in your previous post.
I don't even know where to begin if I have to explain why it can take much longer to grade a shot than to shoot it.
Learning is great, and knowledge can be had here.  This is a very helpful community but you have to put in a little effort rather than it being spoon fed to you.
