That's a clear example of how every system has its pros and cons. I'm a total Sony fanboy but I know for a fact our cameras have the worst built in LCD screens.

I agree, Premiere Pro is ass. I'm in the process of switching to Resolve Studio.

how many space do you need for short/medium length/feature film?
Mako Sports replied to Dan Wake's topic in Cameras
If your shooting in raw or any high end codec like pro res as much as possible. -
Yeah as i expected haha. Also if you talking about american football - field is only 10 yards longer.
-
if you need more overall reach, like more than a 100 400 or 70 300mm equiv. Your best bet is to go with tele primes.

I mean its not like the downscaling will give more work. It will only offer you better flexibility and image quality. Also just something to think about, a hybrid camera that shoots 4K will have a higher resale value going to into the future.

I shoot sports Pro all the way down to youth Lacrosse. 600 is going to be way to long and a total pain to pull focus at, even if you stop down to F8.

I agree 1000x, I guess I'm fortunate to not be heavily invested in EF glass or like Canons color science at all. If people continue to throw a blind eye at Canons wrong doings they will continue to make gimped products like the 6dmkii, Eos R, and 5Dmk4

Nigel Barros? GH3 probably has better 1080 than any canon DSLR. Audio Pre amp should be better but remember its not to the level of the GH5. The only drawback is the GH3 is total ass in lowlight.

Canon camera with up to date specs bc of ML, don't hold your breath...

lol right, that man on something.

rofl that review aka ad had to be enticing enough so that Canon could get a few extra sales this holiday season. So I'm not surprised he went back to the 1dxmkii

I'm a sports videographer so most of the time i'm shooting bright daylight exteriors and I thought with the recent craze in external monitors being significantly more affordable in 2018 than years past when will we see affordable 3rd party on camera EVF's? The only manufacture that makes such a product is Zacuto and I'm sure every one is aware of their ludicrous pricing as they have a monopoly on that sector of the video/cinema market. Since none of the current mirrorless cameras have tilting EVFs and basically EVERY camera on the market under $15K has a pretty terrible on camera LCD screen, I'm surprised we haven't seen a surge with an affordable EVF. I wish for a similar product but something a bit more reasonable at the $750 - $1000 range.

If you want Canon to stop gimping cameras, stop buying them. Shills like Peter McCanon saying 120fps hurts your creativity adds fuel to fire.

Color science IS bs

$339 high bright 7" monitors with SDI: Feelworld vs Portkeys
Mako Sports replied to majoraxis's topic in Cameras
C.J. did a really good review on the portkeys, makes me wanna sell my Smallhd 701 for it, sold my focus sdi a few days ago also ? https://youtu.be/hz3p_A2owC8 -
I'll glady take that 8K now so I can have a more clinical looking 4K or 6K image (yes I prefer clinical sharpness over organic filmic images) at least for the videos I make.
