    I feel the same. That video of the fog looks great. The video of the boats man looks great... but they both look like they could have been shot on a number of different cameras.
    That BMMCC short is truly spectacular and there are so many narrative works shot with them... features and shorts.
    I think a new thread is in order showcasing narrative shorts and features from the BMPCC and the BMMCC. This way we’re not polluting this thread, while still showcasing very worthy works by the narrative filmmakers that shot on the earlier BM cameras.
    The image is more than relevant today and worthy of showcasing.
    In fact, I am seriously considering another Micro or Pocket camera. At the prices they’re going for... it’s really a no brainer.

    @tekeelaI haven't tried the Meike lenses but they look great! It looks like they are cheaper Veydras! If you end up picking them up please share some footage!
    You could probably save quite a bit of $$ on the filters & Storage. IR isn't a problem you'll probably ever notice. Ive used the Tiffen Vari-ND  at max and only ever noticed it once. I would also go with the 1TB over the 2TB. Im using the 500GB and get 73mins In BMRaw 3:1. DCI 4k 25p.

    @tekeela Meike are also coming out with a 12mm at some point, could be a great addition! https://www.cinegearpro.co.uk/products/meike-12mm-t2-2-manual-focus-cinema-prime-lens.
    I would also hold off on buying the monopod right away! especially such an expensive one. You could try buying a cheap used manfrotto photo monopod on eBay to see if you the shooting style. When I do street stuff I prefer to just be handheld. Im lazy, the less stuff I have to carry the more often ill bring my camera!
    Also personally I find T2.2 more than enough for my requirements!

    Yeah 2TB is sort of a dangerous amount of data to put in one basket as they say unless you are doing Documentary's all day, and even then I would not risk all that data on one storage device. Just get 2 or 3 smaller ones. Better way to go. That way you can forget and leave 2 of them at home and really be unhappy lol. That is the first thing you will find out is how much you forget to bring, or Gee I NEED to buy a Heck of a lot more stuff.
    Not too fond of using a Monopod with a camera with a touchscreen. And the PK4 is an odd shaped body to start with. Especially a camera you are leaning on. Might get interesting lol. It is damn hard to get a lot of minutes of video unless you just turn it on and sort of walk away. I have been out for hours, and shot 15 minutes of footage, and felt good about getting that. ?

    I sent it back to Panasonic a while ago. They fixed it for free out of warranty. I think it did took about 2 weeks. They also fixed the ware to the grip that early models of the camera had.

    Im thinking a couple of these for power at the moment, they are tiny and can charge via Usb-C so no need to bring an additional charger

    Great image! I love silhouettes. I always thought the RMC 17mm 3.5 matched it fairly well. I guess it would give you about 24mm 2.5 speed-boosted on the P4K?

    It seems to just take the edge off the sharper image. However, i'm still looking for something a bit wider to compliment it. I don't have any better images with me at the moment but I do have this I took today. It was also using a Tiffen VND

    Gotta be the Tok 28-70 2.6 for me... my only downside is the close focus isn't great.

    Just curious... if you could have only one lens... what lens would it be?
    I guess based on what I own now, I’d have to choose tha Canon 28mm 1.8. At the risk of sounding corny, this lens always shows me how I’d really like to see the world. It finds the beauty and character in the mundane...

    For powering,
    1) https://cvp.com/product/hawk-woods-dv-bm4-power-adaptor
    Hawkwoods is a well known company that I use for powering my sound equipment with NPF batteries. They are very well build, and never failed me on the field (as of, yet!).
    Also, I would prefer to have a Canon battery inside just in case, and for hot-swap, something the battery grip doesn't allow.
    2) https://cvp.com/product/idx_sl-f50_battery
    I got 2 of those recently, they are small, light, incredible built, have 4 led metering, X-tap (like a D-Tap, but from IDX!) AND usb.
    They is a model with bigger capacity, but this specific one drives my Focus for a whole day, doesn't add too much weight - 250gr while a same size and capacity lesser (but very good, got it for 5 years and still works very good) brand, weights 280, and the SL - F70 (9.900mAh) is 350gr.
    If I was going full in, I would go https://cvp.com/product/hawk-woods-dv-f990-sony-np-f-battery  10.200mAh for 300gr
    On another note, I am wondering, why can't we have something like this?
    https://fotodioxpro.com/collections/lens-mount-adapters/products/eos-snye-p-fusion-ndthrtl
    The ND issue is the most important for me, and really puzzles me. vNDs in front of the lens are not so practical, and still to find a very good one (my next try will be https://breakthrough.photography/products/x4-neutral-density?variant=30850760209 but the customs/taxes/VAT for Europe almost doubles the price).
    This is a very pressing issue, and believe will be the turning point in the history of video cameras.
    Imagine a P4K with a build-in ND, or e-ND, that would end all conversations.
    Right now people in forums arguing about no NDs (and right so), and the fact that it has only 1 mini-XLR (some people just can't be pleased).

    This seems cheaper, smaller and more powerful tha the grip and with and you can use a normal V-mount mount on the bottom of a cage to act as a grip.
    https://www.newsshooter.com/2019/04/09/fxlion-nano-one-v-mount-battery/
    Looks like you can power a umber of different things all at the same time.
    Well yeah - same with LPE6 batteries though. It's just another thing that can go wrong, and is easily avoided once you stick a grip under your camera. Aren't there issues with using dummy batteries though, and much better to go straight tot eh 12v input on the side?

    Better than what RED promised. For just over £1000 I have a 4k raw cinema camera with 13 stops and a full post-production workflow that runs on my MacBook Pro. (obviously it requires some accessories but so does a RED)

    P4K Battery life w/NP-F970 batteries:
    By the way, I just completed a quick battery test on the P4K, for anyone that is interested.
    I set up 3 P4K's with NP-F970 batteries on a battery sled connected to the 12V port on the camera. The batteries were fully charged before starting the test. They all tested about 8.1V at the start.
    Each camera had the following equipment and settings:
    XLR shotgun microphone with phantom power turned on Audio levels set to 50% Screen brightness at default levels Samsung T5 1TB drives Panasonic native M4/3 lenses NO internal battery in camera I recorded a static scene until the camera turned off. Then noted the duration of the recorded video. Here is what I found:
    Battery 1: No name NP-F970 7.4V 48.84Wh => 2:08:51 total runtime
    Battery 2: Powerextra NP-F970 7.4V 8800mAh 65.12Wh => 2:24:11 total runtime
    Battery 3: Powerextra NP-F970 7.4V 8800mAh 65.12Wh => 2:25:10 total runtime
    So, as a worse case scenario, my cams get around 2 hours and 20 minutes with a big NP-F970 battery.
    Hopefully this information is helpful to people trying to decide how to power there little beasts

      I see that you have "been there" before I agree with you completely. When you are getting paid for a job, you need to get it done, regardless of the obstacles. That is one of the reasons that I have backups for pretty much everything, including camera bodies. I get asked all the time why I bring so much gear to a job. Some of the gear that I bring isn't needed on every job, but at least I have the things to solve a problem when I need them. I am really big on redundancy. On a lot of our jobs, I only get one shot. I can't do a retake on many of our projects.
    I actually had the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 Type II Lens in my bag the other day, but elected not to use it, as I didn't *quite* need it.  If I need a f/0.95 lens and ISO 10000+, that is a really peculiar situation. ISO 12800 with an f/1.2 lens is already much brighter on the screen than it looks to your naked eye. At least I didn't have to break out the night vision :D

    Well, the Sharp 8K actually does make moving pictures !
    Looks like there is a fair way to go before its ready for release but it certainly doesn't want for detail and I think there is definitely a place for this camera for more 'video' type of work.

    If you let their 5-star technical service take care of you, no need to wait any longer than 1 week, as my most fair bet would be same business week with the odds in your behalf : ) You're actually a lucky shooter because this camera is worthy of much more than any waiting... The best acquisition device I've ever used ; -)
