anonim got a reaction from osmanovic in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
Thanks, so I guess right this time So, cDNG sometimes really has more detail, but not necessarily... Now we have to learn how often and when...
I'm personally interested for the simple reason: being extremely satisfied with form factor, rigging possibility and image of Micro 1080p cDNG, I'm not so satisfied with possibility that for similar 1080p quality I have to shot 4k in P4K. Also, if result of super (up)scaling Micro's 1080p to 4K is similar or identical with 4k of P4K, there's not too much advantage rest with P4K except framing. (I always shot rigged with external small audio recorder and Atomos recorders for the backup reason.)

To stay at forum language, potential and choices of USA world policy more and more look to me as imitation of Canon mirrorless camera adventure. (Maybe in war nobody wins, but somebody lose more.)

Question is not screen itself, but staying silence about changing advertised possibility that some or many users are finding competitively/comparatively important for buying decision.

I watched this the other day, haven't tried it myself yet.. but I wish Blackmagic or at least @CaptainHook would come up with a solution that didn't impact skin so much..
I'd have thought the developers of Davinci Resolve could implement a fix within their own software for their own camera..?

"My sweet baby boy" - that's really first time someone called me Such interesting people here...
Actually I don't think anything, just quote BM site: 13 stops, but you already said you know better.
You are welcome... Yes, he is one of those talented people I'm so sad that - as it seems - has no so extremely lucky stars at their side to easy and wider explore/promote their gift

I'm assuming you weren't actually looking for a response. Hook has been helpful when he's had time. Why go this route? I'd love for his input to remain a part of this forum. Omit the emotion when asking the question so we have a chance at an answer. I know this topic has come up before and he's responded to it. Things are always changing. Lets keep it real in here. Even if I missed something I don't know about, that post isn't getting any of us anywhere. My two cents.

I'm always so happy to see people just go with camera and shoot beautiful scenes like weekend painters did once upon a time... BM cameras are so good in that because of its forgiveness about mistakes... So. one more, maybe now for the @Kye if there's some curiosity how Pocket 4k look combine with Voigt 17.5

One of the most beautiful and skillful cinematography I saw in last 10 years belongs to "Lore" by Cate Shortland director and Adam Arkapaw as dop... they used exclusively s16 in it. I'd dare to recommend that movie to everybody who yet didn't see it - at least just to take one breath relaxation/inspiration from hard battle of sensor's size/capability fascination.

I think you are completely right, It adds to the emotion of the whole movie. The fear, the excitement. It is about as good as it gets. Amazing for who shot it, and the budget. A near Classic. A case study for any young, or hell, old film maker. ?

Malick and Lubezki certainly would agree with you: "Song to Song" (in enormous quantity) and even "Knight of Cups" are full of wobbling handheld shots. And there it was not even intentional pseudosymbolic usage (as, say, in chasing to describe distorted perception) - they simply and really didn't "give a shit about little wobble" mesmerizing spectator in constantly flowing, poetical, juxtaposed, surreal movement.
Actually, there's no more rules in movie language. Moreover, probably never were - except to now how and where to cut across them in most efficient way.
Personally, I think that creators of that war movie obviously use wobble with purpose, as much as colors and light leaks.

Really don't know... maybe you didn't check posted BTS clip which explains shooting process? Obviously they think about, see and value result different.

Let's me to try to be useful
Lenses: T2.2 might not be enough flexible (as exclusive in arsenal); 25mm and 16mm are too close
Filters: That one is pretty expensive and slowing shooting process solution
Monopod: Maybe to try first with some UW lens and see how you manage handheld shooting with it regarding style and possibility

Yes, words saying that size actually doesn't matter but DR consoled me through all my life
