yes its is fixed focus at 4m, there is also a 3m variant if you mod it to infinity, then sharpness nearby suffers significantly. I would only suggest this if you want to use a single focus solution like Rectilux, Rangefinder or the new Aivascope (although that last one may not fit) if you want to know how the lens works on different sensors, use Tito's calculator you can use diopters to decrease the focus distance

That's the thing though. Guys like Bannon ARE engineering an invasion. The current administration wants a Christian vs Muslim war and they see it as divine destiny to win it.
It's going to be your armed forces, men and women, who die in this, in far greater numbers than those who have been killed by "terrorist" wannabes, which are actually incidents of crime and murder, rather than acts of war and terrorism as the media and government portray it as.
For example what happened in Berlin recently, was extremely tragic but the act of ONE SINGLE petty criminal murderer. Just because they have certain beliefs doesn't make them an army.
No it doesn't make you white supremacists.
It does make you a fearful paranoid bunch, unable to take responsibility for why people hate you.
When these terrorist nutcases speak about defeating Christians, they're not talking about Canada and Sweden.
Trump is making you a target.
I can understand the US culture of gun ownership, it comes from protecting isolated farms and houses from a hostile lawless wild-west society.
Those days are over if only you'd let go Tom!
Fox News constantly spins this propaganda about Europe.
There are not a million refugees on my street in Berlin or piling into bars in Manchester.
It just didn't happen that way.
99% of the people who came over just politely blend in and just want to get on with their lives and bring up their children, then return to their homes once the fighting stops and the country of origin is ready to rebuild.
Some will settle but that again is nothing new to Europe or the UK. The UK in particular has been a melting pot of nationalities for centuries. It gave us our best food, our best music, our best doctors and scientists. If only we could replace our lazy fat British chavs with refugees who actually have a work ethic, the economy would be even better.
Merkel made a mistake by not controlling or keeping track of who came in but that's the price you pay for true freedom. Under Trump you're not actually free, you're not actually safe, sadly it's just an illusion. Trump and Bannon talk-up their Christian values all the time. Merkel did it as a good Christian deed and she did save millions of lives... I don't see Fox News praising her Christian values, or the fact she's an ex-quantum physicist whereas Trump has issues spelling the word 'tap' correctly.
Yes, a few of the refugees who came in abused the situation and took advantage. A few more happened to do that and at the same time harbour mental illness. A few crimes occurred, as they do every day with people born here and raised here. Every single crime has been blown up in the media and put under the spotlight, because it's a foreign perpetrator. The media is heavily biased and has an agenda to get more clicks and sell more newspapers. That's how propaganda works. Look it up.
It's fine to reject the globalist agenda
    You'll be left behind though
Because it's a global world now, with the internet, out sourcing, mass production, consumerism and hugely beneficial trade links...
You may not like it but you can't buck the trend of world history just by stomping your feet like a child and voting for Trump.
It's not going to be rolled back long term over the next 200 years and next will come A.I., robots, and a whole other world order you can't do anything about...
Leave a good legacy for yourself and your family and work hard. Alternatively, be remembered as that sad guy who got caught up in the short-lived wave of hysteria and supported a joke-president who is an even smaller footnote in the history books.
    Oh the irony.
You have a 20th century European-style tyrant as your president and I assume you voted for him.
So if anyone hasn't learnt from that it's you.
LOL. This is Info-wars level batshit crazy.
The global economy has pulled millions of people our of poverty and put food on their tables. Sony have camera factories in Thailand.
Those factory jobs are NOT coming back to the rustbelt in the US.
Manchester in the UK did not get the factory jobs back either.
We adapted and went with a services based economy which is why there's now the BBC's second HQ there and a ton of film production studios.
Who wants the miserable factory jobs back any way?
We do have one thing in common - we both dislike political correctness.
I'd like you even more if you were sane.

Andrew, some of the 9/11 comments I've read in this thread are a particularly sensitive issue for me. I worked on the 100th floor of Tower 1, North side. My office was about 3-4 floors above ground zero where the first plane went in (despite what some conspiracy freaks think...I get physically ill with their comments). Why am I still here? I got a call at about 3PM, the day before, from a client. The client asked if I could attend a meeting the next morning on Long Island. She was very apologetic at the last minute nature of the request. I told her, 'no problem'. Had it not been for that phone call, I wouldn't be here. By the time I got to the client, the first plane had hit and the 2nd plane shortly thereafter. Once the Pentagon was hit I told the client "I'm outta here". Who knew if we were headed towards a world war? My son got home that day after school and ran hysterically into my arms, knowing how close he had gotten to losing his Dad. That night my HR department called my wife, thinking I was missing & probably dead. It was an incredibly emotional time.
For the next month, all I did was attend funerals of my co-workers who weren't so lucky. I can't even begin to tell you all the horror stories I'm aware of. One family was overjoyed because they had a kneecap to bury that was identified via DNA. Other families had nothing to bury, other than memories.
So when you talk security, it's a very sensitive issue for me. Anyone thinks that the U.S. goes overboard with security, is, IMO, clueless. Utterly clueless.
With that said, I agree with you, I am extremely concerned about the political ramifications of some of these intelligence agencies. I personally would fire Comey. He can't be trusted IMO and his almost schizophrenic behavior is a bit concerning. He can talk about one secret investigation but can't comment about another. Not the first time he's done something like that.
There are valid scientific reasons for why WTC7 went down. I'm really sorry this thread was ever started because the ignorance and obvious political biases are depressing.

Mattias, you are so close, if you set ISO correctly you've got equivalence down.
What's the purpose of your videos? Is it to create drama or controversy to get views and negative engagement by doing things wrong on purpose, or is it to share your work, to help people make decisions and to help them learn how to shoot? Why not demonstrate equivalence correctly so other people can learn too?

No worries mate, there is a learning curve to this stuff...
Yes, a diopter would fix this (that's more or less the point of a diopte), however you lose the ability to focus at infinity. Suggested read: http://www.tferradans.com/blog/?p=7282 (and everything else that Tito put out :-p)

In the video you stated 'equivalence', which means you try to set both cameras to match per the equivalence math, right? Are you saying that the full frame camera you used couldn't set the ISO ~4x what you set the M43 camera? What were the two cameras?

Referring to the Equivalence test here at 4:02:
For example, if the crop factor is 2 and the ISO for the crop camera is 800, the FF camera should be set to 2^2 = 4*800 = ISO 3200. That's why the full frame image is darker.
Mattias states he doesn't believe in equivalence (including in the video), then does the test wrong- what's the point?

Please. No-one is denying that there are combo's that you cannot match in practice (as in your example), when very large differences in sensor size are involved. But this is only due to the fact there are no equivalent lenses (Iphone 6 cropfactor 7.21, you can do the math...or can you?).
However, the overlap between say medium format and fullframe is much less extreme and yes, can easily be matched using equivalent lenses.

Nikon 35-70mm f3.5 Macro works great for me. It zooms internally, so it sitting with the scope on rails work great. I'd have to check Focus, as I use this with a single focus solution.  Shot this with this set up on a RED Dragon.

Thanks for sharing, very nice! The adapter clearly benefits from the smaller sensor as it looks pretty sharp all around, performs certainly better than in @Tito Ferradans's (otherwise excellent) fullframe example video.

Well, the combination of an 80mm lens and a 0.7x focal reducer does have a focal length of 56mm.  After all, focal reducers really do reduce focal length.  You could prove this to yourself by measuring the separation of photographed stars or I could prove it to you in my lab using the nodal slide on my optical bench.  And if you use that 56mm lens on FF (24x36mm) format, then *it is* a FF 56mm lens.  In this case, the use of a focal reducer together with an 80mm lens is a perfectly valid way of designing and creating a true 56mm lens.  As I mentioned in my earlier post, the only possible reason it will look different from any other 56mm lens will be due to lens/reducer aberrations and other flaws.

Well, sorry, but you're not correct on this. If the camera position is the same on both cases (actually position of the entrance pupil) then perspective will be the same on both cameras. Field of view may differ depending on focal length and sensor size. Maximum field of view will be limited by the image circle size.
Try sitting in a chair and staring straight ahead. Now try to change the perspective of the scene in front of you. You can't do this without moving your position, or moving the position of objects in the scene. Neither can a camera.

'Look' works as it captures any possible effect at all. The argument has been: does sensor size, by itself, create any specific visual effect or look, whatsoever, or not.
Do lenses made for different formats have any special characteristics related to the intended capture format? One could argue size, however some full frame lenses are bigger than some medium format lenses. I had asked Brian Caldwell if he'd be making a medium format Speed Booster and he said no. There are now many very high quality full frame lenses and medium format lenses have no unique properties, so there was no point. A lens is defined by its optical transfer function, that's it.
In this thread we learned that some medium format lenses can be found for very low cost. Combined with a focal reducer for full frame bodies that provides a cost effective way to get shallow depth of field, swirly bokeh, or other desired artistic looks. That's cool and useful info, thanks again @Mattias Burling!
In summary, what we have been discussing is the notion that any format has any special and unique look or characteristic: 'full frame look' and 'medium format look' really mean a 'shallow depth of field look' or in some cases 'swirly bokeh' or other lens artifacts, which aren't specific to any sensor size or any lenses designed for a specific format.

Hey Mattias, if after everything I have posted, and everything Brian Caldwell, the designer of the SpeedBooster has posted, has not convinced you that there's no such thing as a full frame or medium format look, no worries. I wasn't trying to win an argument, only to share what I have learned with others. Have you tried working through the equivalence equations, setting up the camera and reviewing the results as I did here? If not, how can you dismiss it if you haven't tried it? If you have any questions about setting it up, feel free to PM me. It would probably make a cool video that a lot of people would be interested in seeing

I too used to believe in the 'full frame look' myth: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/1917-quick-test-sony-fs700-speed-booster-vs-canon-5d-mark-iii/
Once I ran across the Equivalence equations and did the tests myself, I understood the truth- there's no such thing as a 'full frame look' or any other sensor size look. It's all about the optics. I can still remember what it was like to believe in the myth and have empathy for those who still do.

Do you realize that what you are saying is that the lenses are alive and sentient and direct photons differently based on the physical sensor size? Everything that Mattias posted here is a collective hallucination and focal reducers don't actually work? Or are you just messing with us for kicks? If not, I look forward to your equations and examples showing your concepts in action.
