Not a quick answer, but found these:

I can't vouch for other manufacturers in the states, but I have bought multiple times from Canon USA, refurbished.
They look new, just in a different box. And they come with warranty. Other third party stores claiming "refurb" and a scam? Maybe.
At least refurb straight from Canon USA? I don't think it's a scam.

Ok so I found a GX85 repair manual online and also found this http://www.instructables.com/id/Add-external-Mic-jack-for-Canon-T1i500d/
I found youtube videos for this hack with other cameras too.
I am very close to pulling the trigger for GX85 and I would like to try this.
Anyone crazy enough to try this? @jase ?
My soldering skills are very basic and I would probably have to practice a bit more before trying.
Also found this maniac who made his own battery grip!

Man prices are high over there... Nice camera though.
Yep. Even used G7 is not as cheap like Europe it seems. I am leaning towards either G7 or GX85. I was asking to see if anyone had different idea that I haven't considered.

Loving these old school zoom lenses here and in the 16mm thread, adds such a great aesthetic to videos that is super under-utilised these days.
Question for everyone. Bought a Canon FD 85mm 1,8 lens, really like it. But for the first time, the adapter I bought for it, a OK-priced K&F Concept adapter flares like crazy. Has anyone tried sticking textured tape (flocking paper?) to the inside of an adapter and been OK with it? Kind of worried about any loose fibres attaching themselves to the sensor.
And after deciding that lens, lights and monitors come before beautiful RAW footage (ciao, C200), I'm looking at native Sony glass to buy. Any Sony 16-35 f4 owners here? I like the look of it for the Zhiyun. I'd like to buy a 24-70, and the GM is amazing, but it's too goddamn heavy and $$$. I'll wait and see if Sigma do a native zoom that works well. Yet to hear any kind of feedback about the Tamron 24-70 2.8 on a Sony mount.flat black paint?
also, unrelated. any footage of Canon FD 20mm 2.8? Couldn't find much online...

Ok so, I have a question semi related to the topic. What camera and lens combo would you choose for about $500 US? I have a Zoom H1 and a couple of lav mics.

It doesn't say iMac Pro, but I thought it maybe semi-related:

My kids aren't that smart anyway, so they don't really NEED that college fund. Lol. Man... I wish I had kids so I could borrow from their college fund... goddamn you safe sex!!!
HA. You have some imagination. Also tells me you can't relate to parents. Back to writing/filming you! Share the footage of the screenshots you've been posting.

In couple of weeks I’m hoping to show you how you can do stuff like this and some other useful bits and pieces from a little hardware gadget that will work on the Panasonic cameras but have fun with this in the meantime.

at work so I don't have links, but people have done this before. Just not the highest quality. Not sure about lag, I'm sure there are some.

It won't hurt to try. It worked on T5, though with some tinkering.

I do this and catch a lot.
This is for U.S. deals
slickdeals.com, setup deal alerts for stuff you are looking for.
they also have mobile apps, which is great.
i.e. "Panasonic" "gh5" "canon" "Nikon" "mefoto" "manfroto" "MacBook" etc.
I also have Do Not Disturb on my sleeping hours on my phone, so I'm not getting alerts at night. (I'm just not the type of person to get up in the middle of the night to catch a deal, unless I knew beforehand)
example: just in today is MeFOTO WalkAbout Aluminum Monopod at BHphoto Orange for $29.00, free shipping. I didn't have to go to bhphoto to know this.

The X-T20's 4K video is taken from the full width of the sensor, unlike the X-T2, meaning more lenses will be able to offer a wide-angle view while video shooting. However, this is achieved by line skipping, rather than capturing, demosaicing and then downsampling, so the resolution capture won't match the X-T2.

Semi-related, because I'd like one less thing to setup/pack.
I wonder what the performance of "modeling LED" is like on this: https://paulcbuff.com/db400.php
"ultra bright LED modeling lamp (400W equivalent, daylight-balanced)"

To kind of piggy back on this topic, what would your gear list be if you were first starting out as a wedding videographer for small weddings, with a budget of $1000 USD? I'm serious.
(I'm piggy backing, because there are a lot of good information here, in regards to wedding videos already.)

I've been interested in attaching things to the handle but haven't come up with the best way yet. Perhaps something like the Daisho gimbal clamp system mentioned in the other thread by Cinegain or a long plate system or the upcoming two-handle attachment for the Crane.
The "Horn" in this kit, (which looks like rebranded Zhiyun)
sells separately:
