  1. "As for Google's touted video stabilization? It definitely works. I didn't have any extreme circumstances under which to test it, but for just holding your phone and walking around shooting video, it makes a huge difference. I mean, I doubt you'd think I was using a gimbal, but it's still very smooth."

"Finally, let's talk about the electronic image stabilization. It works! I have a video sample, shot in 4K, below, to demonstrate it. It does give video a slightly jarring panning effect if you're too subtle with your movement, but overall? For something shot with one hand over my head, this is incredibly smooth."

You should just make one from PVC from home depot. Google PVC shoulder rig and you will find tones of tutorials and examples and you can come up with your own design.

Personally I feel like you should either go super cheap eg. PVC from home depot or high end expensive stuff. I rarely fall in the middle

It would take a lot more work and same if not more money if he doesn't have any tools, than the cowboy studios one. :D

  3. I love this evolving technology. What would it look like in 10 years? drone a size of a bird? Yes, I can guess that the video quality is probably not going be in the same league as Mavic or Karma.

It's pretty good, but it doesn't even come close to a $200 smartphone gimbal.  It is still lightyears behind.  For this kind of recording, I wouldn't call this a solution.  I'm sure it'll work well if you hold still and pan slowly.

and don't have whole bunch of apps running in the background. :D
