  1. Cannot wait to try mine! C-mount adapter still traveling across the world though. Thinking about getting the 22mm pancake for shuttertherapy. Reminds me of the good old days when I read with exitement about the GF1 on Steve Huffs blog, which was my internet leisure time spot No 1 back then. I can feel some of that old exitement with the outlook on using this little beauty soon! Fujinon 12.5mm and here we go. EOS M and Angie 75mm on a light photo tripod (baddie even covers S35 with soft vignettes) and we are set for ultimate nerdom camera pleasures! Gotta get a kewl hat like Zeek🙂
  2. Awesome! I was obsessed with the Andromeda hack a few years ago. I member offered me one with PM iirc, but never answered my questions who it was from oringinally. 720p 3ccd 10bit uncompressed 10bit to a mac with a stabilized pana-leica zoom lens. Yeah, DPing shorts and longer pieces even on a no budget level is a rough thing to do artistically.:)

Darn. Bought a Canon FD 35 to 105m F3.5. Lens is very light and tiny compared to the Konica 35-100 2.8, even compared to my Soligor 35-70 f2.5-3.5 it is tiny. It feels and is very plasticy. My sample unfortunately does not focus beyond 9feet when at 35mm. At 105mm it misses infinty and focuses up to around 30m, 100feet when at f11. My adapter is top notch but lens is not alligned. So i will resell it.
  4. tiny SD:) What camera did you use for the second clip? @tupp I like the vibe, looks like 90ies neo noir without neon and without Neo.:)
  5. Yes, we had a nice thread about this camera. It´s cool to see something like that. I didn´t check their vimeo channel for months. I just did. It has not changed since then. So interested to see how it goes.

    Panasonic GH6

I assume, that low light performance is very good by Mft measures. But what could be even better that it does not show the mushyness of codec compression at high isos under low light. Especially Prores should help to avoid that if implemented sufficiently, also the All-Intra and Long GOP flavours should do if as good as good implemented as in the full frame offerings from Panasonic. If it had Prores LT, 422, HQ in the other video modes already and LT in the current available modes I would start to dream about that camera right away. Good night:)

    Panasonic GH6

S1, S5 and S1H are low light beasts. They don´t show any mushyness because of codec mambo jumbo. A7s3 shows mushyness in very low light fi.
  8. Tasty, creamy, and Black and White! I made some akward B and W grades I will share some stills from soon.Your sample above hast some appetizing midtones. I ate couples hours ago. So that is my dessert so to say.:) Time to go to bed now. Good night🙂

German test site Slashcam states, that Prores will also be enabled for various 4k and HD modes later via firmware update. Would love that and would love to hear that info from Matt Frazer, who did a great job on representing the GH4 and GH5 back then.
  10. @NikkorYes, the SRW 9000, which comes in two versions one with three 2/3 ccd sensors and one with the Super 35 CCD sensor from the F35. I once had a chance to buy one in Germany for 2500EUR but I let that rare opportunity pass. It had all boards installed, including the 444 board. The Sony PMW F55 has a Super 35 CCD. There was or is one on sale on ebay UK for 5500EUR.
  11. Looking forward to seeing some of your kewl stuff now in Kodak 250d glory. @BenEricson @QuickHitRecord Awesome!:) Just recently I browsed the webs for 16mm and S16mm film videos. Lovin it. Nothing more relaxing than watching some analogue film digitized for us to enjoy. Talking about grain. 🙂

    Olympus OM-1

How much is it with the 12-40 f2.8? The same as in Germany, 2799 EUR? I think I can wait despite the good price😃
  13. That shouldnt keep us from warming up with other cameras having some fun.🙂
  14. I know, it was just teasing to get ready for the challenge.:) @leslie So it would be natural light only? That's great too. I would love if we can decide for a variety of subjects in front of the camera, human talent included.

    Olympus OM-1

Rolling shutter, battery life, weather sealed body, superior Ibis, compactness of lenses..

    Olympus OM-1

I want this camera too. Why, oh why? The elegant appearance of the camera body and the AF. Never was interested in AF. But imagining that a tasty 17mm 1.8 could work flawlessy in AF gives me an appetite for this camera. Interested to see if HD 240fps is oversharpened or not, if low light video is without mushy noise reduction, if codec is at least as good as on the Gh5 is in good light. Super16 crop, open gate mode would be great. Battery life seems promising. Then this is a want to buy camera. Oh, mini Hdmi, yikes.

Here is my nFd 28mm f2.8 in action. It especially shines wide open for close ups of faces on 0.71 speedboosted M43. I did this video couple years ago and I posted it before on this forum. Grading is a bit over the top and too much to handle for the humble Lumix G6 But anyhow, to illustrate the magical goodness of this affordable plasticy Canon Fd 28mm 2.8

The 28 f2 is supposed to be a bulked up 2.8 with an additional lens element. It's not as good at the same apertures as the 2.8 regarding some lens nerds. I love the 28mm 2.8, which is one of my favorite lenses and still goes for little prices. A price of 99 USD for the f2 is way too low though! It's not so common neither. How did you come up to selling it for that low price?
  19. Bump, like the one on the OM Systems "Olympus" OM1. But indeed a thread bump. Impatience is a good friend of mine when it comes to seeing passion video pieces done as labor of love.😊

The rubber dissolving is in regard to some silver ring Fd lenes as well, not just nFd. Yeah, prices are nuts for these 24mm 1.4 Fd lenses. I love my nFd 28mm 2.8 which i got for 20eu six years ago. It gives a beautiful image. Mechanically it is typical nFd and rather a bit dull and no contest to other marvels but still great to hold and operate. I read the 28mm f2 is not worth the extra money unless you are in need for the extra stop in light gathering. I would love to believe that.😊
  21. We are exited to see what you will do with it. @Matt Kieley 8bit B and W with a camera classic. It's a perfect nerdom pleasure for us!😊
  22. Thank you very much! @kye This edit was fun to do. Lighting was a lot of fun as well, good old gels, blackflags, DIY reflector, thin styro. The model is an aspiring director, producer and writer. For this session I directed her though.:) I´m really looking forward to do some B and W work with the EOS M. Hopefully my Cmount adapter arrives soon. I think the GX85 is a pretty good BW camera though. BW is a lot of fun, even as an afterthought like this one. When I read through this thread again I saw and really liked your BW Slog look with the RX10@mercer. It has a beautiful analogue quality.
  23. Black and White all right. I read parts of this beautiful thread again. I never got to do a BW vid with my G6 as wanted to for this thread. So three years later comes come Black and White with my GX85, first and last shot are from the S1. Let´s show this forum some more BW love.:)
  24. Well, my friends, no Eos M as @webrunner5 assumed but GX85 with one shot of S1 in the mix. For the challenge Eos M might be the camera of choice though.:) Still waiting for my Cmount adapter to arrive. The lightest camera setup was with the GX85 and a Canon nFD 28mm 2.8 with a focal reducer, heaviest was the S1 with a Vivtar 90mm F2.5 the famous Bokina lens. I shot this last weekend as a leftover from shooting photos and did an edit and grade today. Lighting with two aperture spotlights, the 300d and an Amaran, plus two extra Fresnel Bowens mount addons, with two 150w dedos in the mix. So I hope you enjoy this as a little appetizer. cheers 🙂
  25. So, you lazy cats, what´s up with the challenge. Is it canceled, because @John Matthews pulled his Lumix GM1 and a pinhole lens into the spotlight, which is too impressively tiny? What´s happening? I did some photos with my GX85 plus S1 and 28, 50 Canon FD plus 90mm Vivitar F2.5 Bokehmonster. Middle and heavy weight setups in the DSLM class. So what now? No footage and edits we wanna create then? Lazy winter season it seems! 🙂
