  1. I will never buy a video camera with out good AF if you like to film things that move. Assuming one man crew. If you do, you risk static senes and boring videos. That means only Sony and Canon for the moment. All extra you put on the camra is a hassel for field work or if you travel. The best tool contains what you need as part of the camera. I have gone through all these phases and to day I have: A7r3, 1dx2 and C200. So I am not using my Atomos any more..C200 shoots raw to CFast cards..... have the SmallHD, maybe on the Canon if on tripod. Its a good monitor.
  2. Running for months. Use FCPX, Aurora hdr, Luminar, Resolve, Photoshop, Lightroom. Not Premier. Rock solid. And lately Canon RAW Light development SW.
  3. Sorry to say, but this film and pictures look bad to me. Maybe it’s distroyed putting them up here? The first one in the thread look better.
  4. We need a simple bus system for roles, and the ability to put a limiter on the main output, without creating a compound clip.
  5. Your translation is maybe wrong. More like; white men that blames others that they are losers, and voted on the latest president because they belied he will save them.
  6. Another way to say it, I have the Shogun, but bought the Focus. Its excellent. Support what other says, however if you are filming water / sea - the Shogun can help- (a lot of movement in the picture)
  7. Take a look at RED webpages, a lot of films are shoot with RED Cameras. So I guess, if you really are professional, RAW is the thing. Those who are not there yet, are still on the 8 or 10 bit track. Soon you can head over to Apple Store and buy a RED Raven.
  8. I am getting used to the 1dx2 files size, so not too scared. The C-fast card offload quite fast (with a reader) so that's not a big concern and a 20-30 terra raid stores quite much. The jury is still out how efficient the raw will be, or the new codec comming next year. For me the AF is very important, so I will defenitly look closer on this camera.
  9. The dudes will meet on Monday, so let see What's comes out of that. The good thing, they managed to behave.
  10. Dose not look to good too me. A7s2 footage would look much nicer in darker screens.
  11. Its now quite clear. The PhotoJoseph due had to back off - he admits in the comments of his video. Had expected GOD (the English guy you know) to comment, but he seems still to be testing. (please do not take it unfriendly)
  12. Let's see who has to eat his words in this case.
  13. Can you explain the difference between clog and a picture profile 'clog'?
  14. Is the 5d4 really so bad in low ligtht? Its a new senor. Not sure 5d4 is worse then 1dc for stills? 30M vs 18M, probably better autofucus on 5d4. Build quality better on 1dc, but 5d4 should be good enough for most people.
  15. Strange post, it hard to know what you really mean as it's polluted by references to conspiration theories. Not sure all Media is corrupt, never the less Trump has manipulated too many. The underlaying problem is lack of good education in US for a long period (for at lot of people), resulting in lack of good judgement. In Europe we see parallels to what happen in Germany in the 30ies, its is a really dangerous situation. Yesterday it was fantastic to see people finally showed engagement. What do I mean by conspiration theories; that NWO elite has funded ISIS - of course this is rubbish. A very simple thing- some people use religion to manipulate people which has been going on for ever, and they are local, not initiated by the Westen elite.
  16. Hi Have both cameras. The sharpness is more or less equal, maybe an edge in S35 mode on A7R2. Obviously both cameras have their strength and weaknesses. I run some test : Resolution : For me the colours are nice on the 1dx2 : handheld with the 70-200 lense.
  17. If you shoot Sony its stupid to transcode to ProRes (at least on MAC using FCPX) . It just increases the CPU usage when running and edting the media. Everybody seems to think is necessary that transcode to ProRes, but its not (I think is due to hardware support of H264). Even with 1dx2 4k50p with MPEG its no value. XVAC runs with 8-9% CPU usage on my Mac, ProRes with 35% (4k footage), so you are better off not transcode. If you record in ProRes you get a more leverage in sharpness 100MB vs 500MB/sec and 4:2:2 but is hard to see any difference w.r.t. colours. By the way there is support for the standard luts, like Canon, Arri, Sony Slog in FCPX. (via the inspector like shown above) I highly recommend Colour Finale for colour grading, you get much of Resolve functionality inside FCPX. With Slice X you can get tracking as well and it can be combined with Colour Finale. Lasted version support grouping of clip - enabling to copy / propagate grades between clips. Or use and adjustment layer above all clips to create a look/grade to the whole or part of the movie. And - EditReady is not the best application - Apple's Compressor is better.
  18. My latest test of the Canon 1dx 2 - Now I understand people talking about Canon colours - they are nice.
  19. I took the camera files - mpeg files (they are 4:2:2) through editready and generated 4:2:2 prores. Did the same with Apples Compressror 4:2:2 . Can you adjust the internal bit rate somehow in editready?? So this is different from Sony slog, where one want to protect the shadows....? I have still to see someone proving any extended dynamic range with this C-log....... when I use Canon log to rec - its way off - so it not a log actually.
  20. Same experience here, better video then A7s2 and A7r2 which I also have. Be aware nose from some Canon lenses in video mode.
  21. Tried it, and the files got 10-15% bigger then Canons ! Seem you are better of with Compressor.
  22. You probably right. If you want to preserve Canon color stay with the regular picture styles. I have now tested for a week on the 1dx2 and must say I really like what I get out of the 1dx2 (no reason to destroy with a "clog" profile that does not improve the dynamic range), better then my A7x2 at the cost of 5 times files size. Only 10% to save by converting to ProRes so that not a good idea.
