  1. Wait a few more generations and lots of crafty stuff will be gone, just because the competence to judge its quality is gone. For instance I believe that Mad Max Fury Road is at the the apex of cinematic achievements. Sure the equipment, workflows and everything will get "better", but I believe that there won't be people like George Miller and John Seale around to bring into life such ambitious feats. Thankfully no one will have to complain about it cuz they think everything is just fine. :D

USB is really unreliable, especially 3.0, doubt that will happen. With the interference from a USB 3.0 port there would probably be issues with (if available) Wi-Fi as well and who knows what else. Thunderbolt maybe, the BMCC has it, was just hard to get to work with a PC.
  3. Just talking about the FF mode, it gets problematic pretty quickly if the light isn't decent.
  4. I believe so, but it sounded nicely full.
  5. The Slomos with the warped audio were reaaally cool, yeah. Just made the mistake of seeing it for a second time within two weeks (watched it in German socially and had to redo it in the original) and with all the surprises gone it didn't work for me anymore. The German synchro was really decent, though, except a few quirks, didn't expect that for such a dialog-heavy film. And in addition to the superb analog motion I loved the 70 mm sound in the theater, kinda more atmospheric to me than all the Surround YaddaYadda. Still I prefer the Tarantinos up till Bill.
  6. In decent light it's really good, but it gets dirty really really quickly indoors/in low light situations. Purple spots, banding and everything.
  7. That's called 3D then. :p
  8. It's not, I've posted about it before and there have been other threads on it. You have it in dark areas in normal pictures as well. Must be codec/NR/processing related.
  9. I doubt it will be added, the roadmap hasn't been changed for quite some time. But the standard slomo from the FS700 to ProRes or DNxHD on the Shogun is still nice.
  10. In my book it's normal, I've complained about it before. Has been on the original A7S and at least isn't as pronounced on the Mk 2.
  11. Watched it in BluRay quality and except the 8-bit sky and background banding it looks darn great. Loved the cinematography as well. Not to talk about the writing and acting. So much better than Breaking Bad.
  12. The patterns don't look like anything I would expect from the A7SII. Pink blotches in underexposed/high ISO shots, sure, but not these geometrical forms. I vote for faulty unit.
  13. The dilemmas of being an animal and worrying about how to spend your time. ; )
  14. Try Workingman's Death or Darwin's Nightmare if you need kick-ass documentary. The Swiss and Austrian, to me, seem to be the only ones capable of making honest documentaries.
  15. Finally got to seeing it. Some great shots'n'shit, but this was far less realistic than Mad Max Fury Road which obviously doesn't try to be. I mean c'mon with what that guy's been through, there's no way he would have fought the way he did later on let alone survive the whole shebang. And all the survival clichés, eeew. But finally Leo is getting the Oscar he deserves (for any role but this :p).
  16. I just prefer documentaries without voices and without context, so for me it works.
  17. It's actually a documentary, that is, it documents without any glorification or demonization and it's obviously for a political party that stands for animal rights, so I don't see the problem. People nowadays really seem to need hysterical ranting of housewives and crying children in 'documentaries'.
  18. Try the new LG OLEDs, so fuckin great, selling my Pioneer Plasma now. The only thing that's a little bit worse is motion (judder), because it's just so much sharper and you notice every flaw more easily.
  19. That's the Sony menu goodness, no way to deactivate it. There's quite a few similar retarded nag screens like this one.
  20. Loved the first 40 or so minutes. Until someone removed something.
