  1. I'm having issues with the new Resolve Studio Beta 2, the paid features like noise reduction aren't working anymore and the program doesn't even seem to be looking for the dongle at startup. It starts without as well. Anyone else having these issues? Dunno if I had this with Beta 1.
  2. The quality of the render shouldn't be affected, I guess, that sounds more like there are issues with your PC and software. Really hard to say what, though. Bad overclocking, faulty software installs, faulty hardware, hard to say. You don't get better video quality usually, just faster editing and rendering.
  3. Ah, I prefer my approach of neither forgetting nor dramatizing anything and first and foremost not take anything religiously serious. Helps me deal with the neverending madness and idiocy on this planet.
  4. Aaah, that must have been the scandal girl. Oh the memories.
  5. The way I understand it, it would be a great card for the UI and editing part, but you'd need a second one that drives no monitor for computing acceleration. And for that the big gaming cards are better. But as long as you're not trying to render a feature, this shouldn't matter too much. Please, anyone with more insight chime in, I've always tried to wrap my head around this as I haven't had more than a single GFX card, yet.
  6. Absolutely agree. You just take that little thing on a walk and get great video – even handheld. That's why I wanna get rid of my other cameras and get the A7RII as an A-cam, pure convenience. In terms of stills, the RX just isn't enough for me, no night time photography doable with that small sensor and poor assists. Before I thought "hey, you might need this and that and a follow focus and whathaveyou", but I now realize that I will probably always be a one man gig and because of that I wanna stay light and simple above all things. So I need image stabilization and decent AF for times I can't do it manually. And the RX10II just works in these departments.
  7. Far less CPU intensive? It should be quite the contrary, see here for instance: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/x265-hevc-encoder,3565-3.html On the decoding side it's several times as CPU-heavy as h264. I wouldn't be surprised if it were just Samsung's software skills that allows for the unproblematic 4K encoding.
  8. If you wanna buy one then, check the Gear for sale thread, just put mine up for sale. http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/8978-gear-for-sale/
  9. Shouldn't be necessary nowadays with enough processing power, electronic shutter and fast SD cards.
  10. Didn't manage to pull it off. The settings are pretty confusing, though, so it may be possible.
  11. I'm usually a peaceful chap. And hey, I'd shoot night landscapes at 1.2 as well – if I had such a nice lens. I do miss the Canon 24 1.4, that was really a killer nightscape beast.
  12. You shoot landscapes with F1.2?
  13. 120 fps is normal recording mode, so you can do whatever you want. The lens isn't parfocal, though.
  14. Most people nowadays (including me) use nifty tools like filmconvert or LUTs in combination with tried and tested camera settings, so no worries. Download the filmconvert trial (stand alone or Premiere plug in, if you have access to that), download the different camera settings files (Arri often times gives nice results) and have a go with it, you'll see where the proclaimed "magic" comes from most of the time. There's only few people around who can grade properly without advanced tools and plugins, so don't get frustrated. It's all about money and the right workflows nowadays.
  15. Holy shit, dat glasses gurl. I'm all for more porn in mainstream media!
  16. Please don't hit me, but I think I prefer the RX10 II's 120 fps.
  17. Might certainly be, but I'm pretty sure the Mark II has a new raw format.
  18. I wonder about the RX10 II, though. Wasn't blown away by the raw stills from the A7s, but for its sensor size and lens limitations the RX10 II raws hold up very well to grading. Maybe they are in some way different than the A7rII's? Can't see compression going on in there.
