  1. SanDisk are usually higher quality than Transcend and if they advertise up to 90 MB/s write instead of the 65 from the Transcends, I'm pretty sure they will work. Kaylee can probably tell us that they do.
  2. The way I understand it, you need a dedicated gfx card to get good performance, that is a card that isn't driving any monitor. With my single 970 GTX under Win 10, right now Premiere Pro has much better performance than Resolve.
  3. Awesome, that's really good news for time lapse enthusiasts. Kudos for the thorough testing!
  4. Holy cow, that's something probably only Sony would do. How lame. Same in India as someone remarked above. If it's true and not just an error on the websites.
  5. Sweet images! And I probably like your taste in movies (C'est arrivé...). : ) Tbh I don't expect any of the fancy new Sony stuff to hold up for very long with all the IBIS, overheating and whatnot going on, but it's just too tempting convenience-wise. We'll see.
  6. They're much more expensive and have higher write speeds (90 instead of 65), so I don't see why they shouldn't.
  7. Didn't notice, some of the good ol' S-Gamut magic.
  8. I don't wanna use a follow focus, I wanna stay light. And the D800 is no good for video. ; )
  9. I'll wait some more, don't fret. I'd just love to have a camera that does stills and video equally well and can handle ISO above 3200/6400.
  10. Hello dafreaking, thanks for your inquiry, I hope I can be of help to you. I'm not really sure about this, but as there's always software involved and adjustments made, I think it's a thing you just have to learn individually. The sensor size helps immensely, though, just using focus peaking worked relatively well for me. Andrew can probably say more about this. The zooming certainly is far from silent and will most likely end up on the audio track. Other than that I didn't find it too annoying, though. And since the lens isn't parfocal, anyway... Battery life is OK (few hours with a bit of recording here and there) and since the things are cheap, I don't see it as much of an issue. Best regards, Your unofficial Sony support
  11. I don't expect the Sonys to beat the Nikons in every regard, not even my D800. I prefer the mirror with pentaprism to all EVF-stuff, I find it more responsive and direct. It's just that the a7rii would be such a nice all-in-one package, that's about the only reason I would be willing to switch. And like I said above, I kinda feel bad taking prololonged timelapses with the Nikon, because it wears the thing down (not to mention the resulting shutter dust/oil spots). In the end, though, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sonys would have to be repaired earlier because of things like the IBIS and less quality in general. It's all a matter of compromise to me. What I would love without exception, though: not having to use the retarded reverse focus mechanism of the Nikon lenses.
  12. Thanks again. : ) I'd also love the e-shutter for timelapse, always felt bad for the Nikon when I heard it snap every 20 seconds.
  13. Yeah, thanks! The second clip doesn't seem to have any of these issues. Really thinking about getting rid of my other cameras, this sure is a nice package.
  14. Hmm, not so crazy about the motion. That the cadence, the post/delivery/compression or is it just that 25 fps is no good for fast motion?
  15. Looks and sounds really decent. Right now I'm thinking a7rii as A and rx10ii as B cam might be the way to go. The XLR-adapter really is a treat and it works on both cameras. If the a7rii's stills are as good as I think they might be, I could get rid of the Nikon D800 for stills, the NX1 and hope that the Sony has come down in price by then.
  16. Would be ridiculous to change that per region, probably just an error. Though I wouldn't be too surprised, it's Sony after all. Tbh, I can't say for sure, I was under the impression you had to set focus before shooting. Anyhow, focussing in HFR is a major PITA anyway. If you can use AF with HFR, I doubt it works in a sensible way.
  17. The Steady Shot is superb, so no problem in handholding. That limit is for the RX100M4, not for the RX10 for which the limit is as stated before 29:59 or something like that. I've recorded over 22 minutes in 4K and no issues.
  18. It's a really smooth upgrading experience. There's been a few issues in the earlier TechPreview versions, but it should really be fine right now. Do give it a restart or two after finishing, though. Oh, and definitely make sure there's enough free space on the HD. 30 Gigs+ is probably best.
  19. Had massive issues with Adobe CC 2014 before, just upgraded to 2015 and everything is running so perfectly on Win 10. Especially Premiere Pro has become such a joy to use. I urge everyone to test Win 10.
  20. Charging indicator goes out once you switch on the camera. No cable lock. Yes, the app could be great due to the best resolution of all free solutions around, however this gets messed up by the fact you can't use picture profiles and other advanced settings when recording with the app.
  21. The cheap Transcends U3 (95/65) work flawlessly. In terms of batteries I got cheap ones for 14 Euros from your island (Expro), no issues, either.
  22. Hard to say without using it. Found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/3f0bnl/windows_10_n_and_ffxiv_warning/ You can always change defaults, I wouldn't install the N version. Edge is really fast, too and you might wanna try it in the future. Don't see any interference, either. Win 10 is quite slick all in all.
  23. For a dedicated Media Center I recommend Kodi/XBMC, highly customizable and extendable.
  24. Been using it for a few months, few issues every now and then but nothing major. DirectX 12 seems to work much better than 11 for me in games, even with DX 11 clients. Generally, I prefer it to Win 8 by a landslide. Few issues with VPN and Resolve 11 seemed to be problematic, but 12 now is working flawlessly.
