I highly recommend this tutorial for Resolve, it is excellent (and free). It doesn't export in all UHD formats so I am currently with Premiere Pro:

Just received my new XC15 with XLR attachments. Just threw this up after a hard day's work in the shop---so you can sample the quality of the audio.
I also used the new Production Camera custom profile that is also in the Canon C300 M2.  But this is just a sample of the audio for talking head stuff:

    Super annoying!
But it seams that I found a fix:
You just need to open Terminal and paste the following line: defaults -currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug -bool YES

To reverse it back to normal just paste: defaults -currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug -bool NO

Make sure to copy the "-bool YES" line to DISABLE the automatic app opening.
I did it the other way around the first time and that indeed doesn't work... :p

I'm going to have to defend the DSLR and mirrorless cameras big time...
ENG shoulder shooting is overrated. I personally don't want to lug around a big heavy camera with rails and a shoulder mount that can only be shot with in one position at one height. At least with a DSLR you have a choice whether you rig it up for ENG style shooting or something more minimal.
When you have 5 axis stabilisation and a body that weighs less than 1kg, it really isn't that hard
Indeed when you have an EVF (either built in or via loupe) you basically have the same shooting style as a Super 16mm camera and nobody is suggesting those aren't suitable for film work.
    Times change.
    The 18MP refers to 6000 x 3000 in 6K Photo Mode (the maths is 6000 * 3000 = 18 million pixels)
If the final sensor is in that aspect ratio I will eat my hat
There's no way it is going to be 18MP.
It will be in region of 24-28MP if it supports 6K res

I shoot with the RX10II and don't have any regrets, it's one of my best gear decisions ever. It covers any M43 lenses in a compact powerzoom form over f4, so that makes most of them until now; has 5axis stabilization; gives Slog to match his bigger brothers in a vast different range of prices mostly well, not like Canon; can record to SD cards 4k footage, accepts the XLR-K2M adapter, can be hacked to remove the time limit and doesn't overheat. All in all I think it's Sony's best camera right now.
The only PITA is the lack of a touchscreen, and that's the reason the G80 or the OM-D E-M1 MKII are looking so interesting right now, but weddings pay my butter so I have time to hold my GAS and wait for what Sony presents at CES and see if finally they add a touchscreen to the a7 line. My only reason to go FF is that brides and grooms in Slovakia and Spain tend to dress in ugly as hell rooms and to be able to have background separation in full body and 3/4 portraits and videos is a godsend. For the rest M43 and 1 inch sensors are all love and bridges can cover 60% or even 70% of a shoot very well. My 2 cents of course.

Well the next Panasonic FZ will record 4K at 200 Mbps, which is double the current rate. Might make a big difference. The XC10 records at 300 I think, so perhaps that is the key with the smaller sensors, as many love the XC10 video.

It's like pulling teeth to get these companies to say what the internal recording color depth is. Out of all the reviews, writeups, videos and product listings it's still not clear if 8bit 422 or 420. One of the most important features.

I shot a feature film with 6 Panasonic G7s earlier this year , Panasonic UK supported the movie and provided the cameras and asked me to become an Panasonic Ambassador as they like my work as a DP / cinematographer , and asked me to tec meetings with the Japanese Engineers for Cameras and Lenses etc I'm not alowed to talk about this at all ...yet , The G80 is 422 external for sure via HDMI out  , I will have one to test for a week in 10 days time so watch this space.

That's quite a good endorsement for the G80. I am changing my mind and buying it. Will just wait a while as my G7 is less than a month old and maybe Panasonic will have a £100 cashback on it at some point like they just did with the G7. Pretty much a certain buy if the video is better than the G7 (which I bought partly due to raving reviews from people like Andy). It is around a third of the price of the GH5 and certainly won't have an image 3 times worse.
Could use the money saved to consider the 8-18mm lens which might be awesome, like allowing filters and no purple blobs like you get with the 7-14mm.
Edit: there is already a pretty good deal on it in UK- free battery grip which is a big deal with their little batteries. I am guessing this is worth around £150.

this camera is superb , I've had to keep off the forum for a few months as a Panasonic Ambassador as I was not alowed to talk about it , But I tried the G80 3 months ago and was very very impressed especially with the Image stabalisation ! rolling shutter is also massivlly better its a huge leap forward and improvement , I'm shooting my whole next feature film with 6 of these new G80s they are that good .  buy it!!

This last video is making the rep sweat lol. Will be very interesting to compare the 200 Mbps FZ to the old FZ, plus the 4:2:2 G80 to the G7. Its like previewing certain GH5 specs by themselves. Maybe the G80 move to 4:2:2 will be enough of an improvement for those not needing V Log.

The only thing you can do is ask what is acceptable to use (they'll normally have a list of cameras) & rent for this one job, if it pays or gets you more work then consider buying something to keep getting broadcast work. Also, ask if what you're using will be good enough.
Having worked for the BBC, I know that broadcast standards are pretty high & it is more to do with how they have to deliver the footage. Therefore DSLR footage just isn't going to cut it in most instances, because they have to compress the footage into a deliverable format & in most cases it will fall apart - hence the 100Mbit/s min requirement. The special permission aspect is almost certainly to do with the fact that they'll have to spend extra time/money getting your DSLR footage up to scratch & they really don't like doing this - they'll see it as a waste of time & money, unless your piece is something that is going to get a lot of interest/viewers (ratings, it's all about ratings).
Don't let something like renting out a camera for a job put you off - this is your break & treat it as such.

Quite fast, I think a bit faster than the 25/1.4 too.  The 20/1.7 was one of the first m4/3 lenses that I owned (with the Olympus 45/1.8).  I loved that little 20mm lens except I lost a lot of shots due to missed autofocus (mind you of my kids that don't stop moving).  It was pretty good for manual focus with video and I liked the angle of view and had nice rendering.

Just returned from another Festival, this time i brought my new Olympus 17mm 1.8 - what a nice lens! The manual focus is really nice and not snappy like the one of the Olympus 12mm f2.0. Also works very fine with the Tiffen Ultra Contrast, screencap (1080/50):

Maybe a certain export setting will make your footage qualify. I remember someone telling me once they can't tell the difference. Not sure if that was for TV though. I saw something on TV obviously filmed with one of the crappy CCTV lenses the other day or a cheap wide angle convertor, so standards cant be that high. I would probably copy it to a USB, visit local TV store and plug it into the biggest TVs. If it looks good insist it meets their specs and you might be fine.

Now is the time to bring back multi-aspect sensors. The 4K crop on Panasonic's current cameras is a real shame.
It would be great if they could put out something that downscales from the whole sensor and relegate the current method of 4K capture to the extended tele mode where it belongs.

I love Panasonic. Feel like I want them to have every penny I spend on cameras and lenses. Most intersting part for me will be to see if the 200 mbps internal recording is enough to make up for the small sensor. As that will bode well for the camera most of us are really waiting for.
