Seems interesting. I wish Kinefinity would come out with a pocket camera. If it were cheap enough, I’d definitely give it a try... and maybe a direct competitor for BM would give them a kick in the ass to develop a pocket 2 or lowering the price of the original.

In my experience the A7rii had very good color and shooting with A7riii I find it has improved even more and I am guessing the A7iii as well. The a7s had the worst color of all the A series but the new cameras are miles better.
The fact is that with picture profiles you can adjust the colors to your liking, something you can't do with any of the other consumer cameras. Imagine that one of the reasons I am unwilling to leave my Sony is the great color. Take it from an actual user.
If you have the GH4 and you find that it does not give you the still performance you need, then my suggestion would be the A7III. It offers amazing quality both in stills and video, very long battery life and AF performance.
The GH5/s would be my obvious suggestion but the stills are not much better than with the GH4.

I also believe GH5s is the best choice for professional videographers at this price point at the moment. $2500 is a great price. I might not be the target market since I need/want IBIS and PDAF, but that doesn't change fact that it is an amazing camera. All the footage that I have seen has great colors without any of the typical digital artifacts. Also along with the GH5 they have one of the best 1080p out there. High bitrate intra frame codec, downsampled from 4K with minimal rolling shutter.

Yeah sigmas sound good. With the a7riii I am using AF even more so the native lenses are great, but I also have a bunch of Nikon manual lenses. That is the beauty of the FE mount, you can adapt any full frame lens. For video, you can find excellent MF glass very cheap.
Another good choice for video are the slrmagic cine lenses. I consider the 35mm f/1.2 FE @ $300 a bargain.
Also, the S35 mode basically doubles your lenses. For example, the tiny loxia 35mm coupled with the clear zoom of A7rii gave me a 35-100mm range at f/2. That is crazy. With A7riii the clear zoom was reduced from 2x to 1.5x but I am not sure about the A7iii.

    Great work!
It reminded me the La Soufrière from Herzog. Not only because of the absence of the expected sublime event but also human nature. Wikipedia describes it nicely:
"Driven by either madness or complete harmony with nature, the subjects of Herzog's films exemplify life at its most spiritually extreme. The people who remained on the island had accepted their fate, and had given their lives to God. "

Thanks, now I can take one thing out of the possible scenaria
    1) Use the barcode to identify early leaks
    2) They realized what a monster they created and intentionally crippled it to save A9, A7riii & A7sII
    3) Sony f*cked up.
    4) Fuji did it.

Just picked up my A7III and can confirm the flickering barcode artifacts when recording in full frame 4k. Oddly enough they don't appear in the S35 mode. Will return it tomorrow. It seems to be easily fixable with firmware though. It's a shame because the image is lovely otherwise and the camera feels snappy and responsive, autofocus is great.

This is the first documentary that I have done. It was shot on Sony A7sii, Panasonic GH5, Sony Rx100m4 and a Phantom 4 pro. Would love to hear your thoughts! Editing a 30 minute piece is soooo much work. I applaud people who work in this format every day!

Yes, even at DR100, it looks herky-jerky. Is that somehow usable? There's a difference between saying that it's less bad at DR100, and saying that CAF for video is actually usable.
Also, I find it disturbing that folks seem to be almost preemptively anticipating problems as inevitable; that they'll later be fixed in firmware as part of Fuji's world-class Kaizen.
My understanding is that Kaizen (the Deming cycle, Toyota Production System, call-it-what-you-will) was meant to discover and prevent flaws like this from being pushed into market in the first place; not to fix errors that were sloppily discovered only after the release.
A more accurate term for what Blackmagic, Sony, and now Fuji and others are doing is the well-known strategy of "Release it Now; Fix it Later."
For $1800, I expected more. (And a headphone jack.)

Of course not, we are all waiting for the Zacuto shotout!
Seriously, the C200 is on no man's land right now. I have a week long shooting with it on a couple of weeks from now, but the lack of a middle codec is huge for me, as shooting raw is like 0,3% of my workflow, and if I need more, we always rent camera/lenses anyway (C300mkII is just excellent for most jobs).
I would like to have reliable touch focus in my next video camera, though, there are rumors for "a new C camera, and another videocamera that don't belong to the C line".
C100mkIII and C300mkIII are rumored, and I have posted here a patent for an XC type camera, with IL(interchangeable lenses). The oldest C camera is the C100 right now, but it could make sense to see something like a C400, and a lowly XC camera with EF-M mount. The second could be an instant hit (if have touch focus and good old Canon 1080p and some kind of 4K).
An XC camera with the 22mm and the 11-22mm could be amazing for most jobs, and of course there is a native adapter as well.

Why the hell someone at Atomos isn't going "You know what, that 4 year old Ninja Star product could do with an updated version that does 4K" I just dont know.
They do a lot of stuff aimed at other cameras like GH5 and even LS300 and yet there is this Canon shaped gift horse giving them a massive toothy grin and they sail right by.
Maybe at NAB they might release one and shut me up!!

No. If manufacturers would instead build better cameras from the start with longer support cycles I believe most people wouldn't feel the urge (as much) to replace it with something new and shiny. The tech blogs/journalists do not help. At the end of the day they're not your pal.
Not to sound hypocritical but I've picked up the Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k not because it was a camera that as released in 2017, but because I like what it has to offer my workflow and ultimately the image is is priority one for me. I will end up sticking with it for a good while and learn how to get the most out of it despite newer models sure to be released and other new cameras hitting the scene too. Oh well.
This philosophy is better for the consumer, but not so great for the manufacturer who needs to keep rolling in that dough cycle after cycle. But I don't care about them more than I care about my own needs, and neither should anyone else unless they own stock in a particular company. These companies have no shortage of profits. They don't need anyone's charity.
This very thread is a prime example of the negativity that comes from fanboying way too hard over something that's only trying to meet a small niche. People end up placing more importance in things rather than each other, when in any other circumstance that wouldn't be the case. Even though no one likes being reminded (or preached to) of that it's important to stay grounded and focus on what truly matters in life. I doubt anyone on their deathbed was like, "Damnit, I should have gone with the Fuji".

I also believe that an A7iii would work great for FF 4K with AF. A7rII could work as well, but I would avoid it since you might go into moire issues with fabrics in FF mode.

Yeah battery life is definitely not a problem with the new Z batteries. 3 of them would be enough to finish a short .
But I still prefer the Fuji/Nikon solution mainly because it is far easier to remove the grip without having to take the battery holder out of the grip, remove one battery, stick it into the camera, remove the battery door from the grip & attach it to the camera. And then do all that to put the grip back on. I don't take the grip off that often but it is a fairly involved process.

Both batteries are in the grip. For some strange reason sony uses a fancy connection that is located inside the battery compartment of the camera. My guess is that there is no space left on the bottom of the body . There is no space even for weather sealing

An XC with an EF-M mount/APSC sensor would be indeed very good. I am sure it is going to cost at least as much as the XC15 but it will still be a great seller. A mini C line.
