Olympus Four Thirds 14-35mm F2.0 is a very good lens.
They had the skills to make it a long time ago.
Would like to see a 14-50mm F1.8 from Panasonic when GH6 comes out. Really push the boat out

Cinegain reacted to Jerome Chiu in 2020 Petition to Stop Using the Word “Bokeh” Forever
Now this is interesting. Mike Johnston, as Chief Editor of Photo Techniques, commissioned a series of three articles on bokeh back in the 1990s, and he added an "h" to "boke" (Japanese "boke-aji", lit. "quality of the blur") so people wouldn't pronounce it as rhyming with "broke". It has caught on -- I mean, the spelling with the "h" -- in the English language enormously, while the Japanese have moved on, nowadays, to a different term, viz. "outto fokasu". Go figure.
He could also be credited for anointing Leica's 4th generation 35mm Summicron (last generation pre-asph, designed by Walter Mandler) the "Queen of bokeh" for rating it 10 out of 10 (one of three lenses that get this rating) for its bokeh rendering. What many people fail to realize is that Johnston specifically refers to the bokeh rendering of this lens at f/5.6, not at f/2 where people are baffled why the rendering is very far from 10 out of 10.
So yes, we should be talking about the rendering of the bokeh at different apertures, and especially while stopped down to f/4 or f/5.6. It is wrong to assume that bokeh is only about blurred background in the widest apertures.
[Edit] Here is a recent article of his, where he revisits this ongoing tale. Also note that his latest article is, rather coincidentally, also on bokeh.

Some good points here and all valid.
Colour science with RAW is easy to get right straight off the bat, with V-LOG or any LOG for that matter, it's easy to mishandle it. Put wrong LUT on and it's going to look terrible compared to RAW on default settings in Resolve.
I don't agree colour science is lacking in V-LOG or BT.2100 though. Very wide gamut, and the Vari-Cam it's based on won tons of plaudits for colour.
I also much prefer the Rec.709 colour styles on the GH5 and GH5S to Sony's, much nicer skintones and more natural.
Equally there are valid reasons to choose Pocket 4K, there are valid reasons to choose GH5 or GH5S instead. So it depends on needs of the shooter.
The H.264 or H.265 files can be edited in any NLE, you are not pushed into Resolve like with BRAW Really well specced Anamorphic mode Articulated screen Built in EVF IBIS on the GH5 Battery life Reliability Media is cheaper if you select the lower bitrate codecs or 8bit The stills side / hybrid use Better physical controls (I do agree menus are better on Blackmagic, a little over-complicated on the Panasonic but you do get used to it) Much more fully featured I do not like to rig my small cameras up very much so adding EVF to Pocket 4K is not for me, really.
I would say with the Blackmagic you are getting a good image, a good codec, and a big screen with excellent menus (apart from the fact it's barely visible in day light), but everything else about the camera is as cheap and uninspired as you can get, especially how power hungry it is. A sensor in a box really, as far as ergonomics go.
Blackmagic need to up their game with the small cameras.
All Panasonic need to do is develop a good compressed RAW codec with sensible file sizes and 12bit image quality, and license ProRes for internal recording, absorb the costs into the increased price of the GH6 and it'll be a total winner that blows Blackmagic away.
ProRes and RAW are the main reasons people shoot Blackmagic.
Take those a way and why do it?

I have a GH5S. It’s a great camera. I do wish Panasonic would have payed more attention to it to make it more competitive, feature wise. The sensor is clearly capable of a bit more since it shares the same sensor in the P4K, Terra4K, Zcam E2...
I think however, it being built on top of the GH5 platform and not given more leg room put it at a disadvantage.
I still bought mine after seeing the P4K release because I value the weather sealing and build quality.
I would say despite the FF hysteria the little MFT sensor in these cameras proved to be very popular and met the needs and wants of those that bought the cameras.
With the success of the P4K I think it has shown that their is a demand for a MFT camera that has IBIS, a dual gain sensor, and a bit more power features for those that need them: ProRes, RAW, 4K60p+.
im hopefully Panasonic will make the GH6 that camera.
I don’t think their will be another MFT BM camera.

I'm rocking the GH5, the G85 and the GX85 for my multicamera shoots these days. My original plan was to sell the G85 and buy a second GH5 but then I got the GX85 for a steal used and decided to also get the 35-100mm f/2.8 when I found it in pristine condition for an absolute bargain.
I still use my JVC LS300 too, though I'm considering selling it. It's hard to part with, as I really do love it, but I also feel bad not putting it to use more. I instinctively just grab my Panasonic kit most of the time.
I think a lot of people have gotten caught up on full frame, which I understand, but I still love M43 and see so much more upside in the system than full frame. I want a small, compact kit. It's literally what I dreamed of way back when. If you told me 10 years ago that I'd be able to fit my entire multicamera kit in one small Pelican case AND get the quality that I'm able to get, I don't know that I'd have believed you. Using the GX85 has really reignited my love for the system and reminded me of the possibilities. It's so tiny and lightweight! But the image! It's lovely! And slap that 35-100mm on there! It's insane! I won't hold my breath, but if they could pack all the features of a GH5 into a small body like that? Gimme!

Was odd how the step from GH2 to GH3 wasn't THAT massive (I guess some people might have thought it was?).
Likewise the GH1 to GH2 step up I don't think was huge either.

I used to have a theory that Panasonic was going on a cycle with the GH series of alternative "BIG improve" vs "small improvement". (thus after the big splash of the GH5, I'd expect the GH6 to be a smaller improvement, before the GH7 which would then be massive)
Then the GH5 came out and made a big splash, ruining my theory by breaking the pattern! As it followed up so strongly after the GH4, which had itself made a big impact.

    Cameras used, but less often:
Sony PMW-F3, Nikon D5200, OG BMPCC
(plus a zillion older cameras just sitting on the shelf)
Same, don't think I'll ever sell my GH1!

Well, since the GH2 days I've been pretty true to MFT. Skipped the GH3. Then gotten the OM-D E-M1. Then the GH4. D5300. Z CAM E1. BMPCC. G7. YI M1. GX80. G80. G9. GH5. BMPCC4K. GX9. The oddball was the D5300, but I sold it due to its traditional DSLR quirks. A bunch I sold again, some are collecting dust. Still actually have the GH2. For nostalgia's sake, I can't get rid of it. Primarily these days I use the G9 and GH5 when the objective is to shoot some schtuff. Whenever the occassion is more casual, like city trips in the company of people that might not be the most patient, the GX9 will do. The steps GH2 < GH4 < GH5 have been quite remarkable and I really don't want to get myself into fullframe systems. So I for sure hope MFT really ain't dead yet and that the GH6 will be marvelous. Maybe they'll drop the top line separation and encapsulate the G9/GH5(S)' individual strengths in a single body.

That's how I shoot all the time, grabbing a quick shot then running to catch up.  Or getting shots of the family while they're doing their thing.  For me the strengths of the GH5 really help with that.  IBIS for walking while shooting (trying to simultaneously do the ninja walk and also not walk into a pole or anything) or for standing and grabbing a faux tripod shot.  The 10-bit for being able to significantly push the image due to no control of lighting and little to no time to work the scene.  Etc...    My other approach is just to get volume, as not only does it mean you get lucky more often, but the practice increases your hit rate too.
Here's some random GH5 shots from filming at the speed of life...

    I wasn't.
    That makes sense.
I guess it just depends on what lenses you have on it.  I have a GF3, and when paired with the 14mm f2.5 pancake it's (just..) pocketable, but you put the kit lens on it, or anything with a longer focal length or wider aperture and the size advantage disappears pretty quickly, but whatever works for you.
I thought for a second there your reference of people who aren't so 'patient' might be to people in fast cars, maybe a street racing reference, illegal street racing, small camera doesn't attract attention etc...  for street videos, or maybe undercover law enforcement.  Or alternatively, referencing some kind of meme I'm unaware of, or humour that I wasn't getting, or.....  or....

As if you weren't refering back to the 'fast/slow aperture debacle'. ? But ok. The GX80 or GX9 with say the Leica 15mm f/1.7 is roughly the same footprint as an LX100. It's tiny. But... enough to take along if otherwise you'd only have your smartphone (given, the Huawei P20 Pro (especially monochrome sensor: lowlight) and P30 Pro (for its periscope optical zoom and improved video over predecessor) have really been impressive). But if I know that on the trip the goal isn't to take pictures/footage, then I'm just not taking big whoop cameras and lenses with me that literally weigh me down at the same time allow me to elaborately set up my shots carefully. Otherwise, what's the point? So... that's just where GX9 comes in. Enough to be there when you need it, but not so much as being a little bothersome to have on you.

I've posted this before, but here's a clip I tried to push to breaking point, but it seemed pretty much unbreakable.  This is the GH5 150Mbps 10-bit mode, so not even the 400Mbps All-I.

When I was playing with ML raw I compared the 10-bit to the 12 and 14 bit modes, and although I could see a slight difference between the 10 and 12 if you pushed it hard, I concluded that 10 bits was enough for me.
In terms of the GH5, the dual ISO is one feature that would be great to have, but the IBIS more than outweighs it, and in comparison to the S1H, the smaller size and cost more than outweigh it for me.  Literally, if I became a billionaire tomorrow, the GH5 would still be the best camera available for what I do.

Considering the GH5 is currently winning, it seems that the answer to your question is "3".
    Or, put another way, 0.000821/day.

What is it about the GX9 that makes it 'faster'?  I never really thought of the GH5 as slow...
