after running around with the GX80 and the voigtländer 25, i have collected so much material i will be busy with editing it for weeks  In my opinion, the GX80 is not too small for it, at least for me. The more I shoot with this combo, the less I get why I ever abandoned it...

It is NOT a serious video tool at all  A more serious camera should at least have 10 bit 4.2.2. All of these cameras have terrible rolling shutter. If you do a move it has an unpleasing jumping, skipping and blurring effect. I'm quite happy and still exploring the new Lumix GX80, which is worth attention for just 599 euros. But not for $1599 :))) If you're ready to spend this amount of money for such a camera, then it is worth attention to rethink and raise the bar.

Agreed.. something really weird about the motion. Will have to wait for real life tests to get a proper idea. Right now it's looking way too 'video'.
Also am I the only one to find Fuji film simulations a bit over rated? Never been a fan of heavy baked in looks.
It is an interesting concept, at least for still photography but the film simulations have nothing a proper LUT would give you imo.
No IBIS, External F-log, Rolling shutter issues, limited/expensive native lens ... meh.. It sounds to me like Fuji is just jumping on the filmmaker bandwagon, but do they really have the chops? I guess it's still nice Sony finds itself a competitor..
Hopefully a real non-sponsored test will give the full breakdown, I certainly won't be the beta tester for yet another compromised new hybrid system.. hyped up solely on the premise of 4K and some "cool" retro picture profiles..

Thank you. Little corrections were made only for contrast and shadows (down) in post. After a little practice with the camera, I think, this could even be done in the camera, after tweaking the curve.

Actually for a long time after I got my GX7 I was an advocate of using iDynamic. In fact even now I wouldn't say "dont use it". But just be aware of what it does. It raises shadows and midtones in a different way than if you were to use the shadow curve or adjust the contrast slider. The end result is that the contrast in your image can look a little "washed out". It's hard to explain..  but for example if your subject is a person, then their skin wont have the same range of tonality, even after grading. This could be desirable if going for more of a low-fi look.
There is no definitive. Sometimes the Nikon looks better, sometimes the Panasonic does. But the Panasonic is far more usable as a camera.
Nikon mount lenses have a physical lever on the rear mount which controls the aperture directly. There are adapters you can buy which have a ring around them that controls this lever. I'm talking about electronic Nikon lenses btw, not the old manual aperture ones. The one I use is the Metabones, but there are cheaper alternatives too.

Sure. Bought mine here, but it's the "German" model of the GX80 in France... not sure what that was about. They seemed serious and sent it quickly. They have a shop only about 2 hours from where I live. That's why I went with them and they're the only ones in France to have it. Do what you like... not an endorsement.

I spoke via chat with a panasonic sales agent and she told me the gx85 outputs 4k 10bit 422 to an external recorder. Wow!

The colour is very much like the 1D C / 1D X Standard JPEG profile and the files seem to feel nice and chunky this time round.

Not getting 5 axis with non IS Panasonic lenses pretty much breaks the deal for me. Hopefully Olympus keeps improving on the video so we can get a good video camera with 5-axis for vintage glass.

Exactly, it would be interesting to see only the "In Body Iamge Stabilization". I would also be using some non-stabilized vintages lenses. And also Sigma 18-35 f.1.8

How come the Samsung NX1 can do a perfect 4K image from a 28MP Super 35mm sensor with no crop but Nikon... NIKON for heavens sake!! CANNOT!!

Nice, this will be much more affordable than the D5 I expect although more than a D7200 obviously.
Super 35mm video from a great Nikon sensor in 4K with nice codec and flat profile from the D750.
Still waiting for the full details on video spec.
CES hall full of clueless stills people
