IF the 6k 60p rumor is true, and it's an anamorphic ratio, I wonder if this means Fuji has some Anamorphic glass up their sleeves too?
I would sell every piece of gear I own and start all over again for an X-T4 with 2x Anamorphic MK-X zoom!

How does the GH5 do 10bit 422 internal since 2 years ago then?

Will be interesting to compare 422 vs 420
NONE of the early reviews have done any pixel peeping

I'll never understand the mentality of this type of poster. If I prefer one great camera over another great camera, then it's happy days... if someone prefers a different camera, it does not detract from my own happiness.

Current ARM processors can only handle hardware accelerated HEVC Main 10 Version 1 up to 10bit 420, to get 10bit 422 or even higher (12bit and/or 444) you need version 2 which is not yet widely supported.

Boy do people like to complain. A camera is announced two days ago with a feature and you expect every other camera to have it? We're also talking different recording media than the C200 and Blackmagic. Different ecosystems can support different things. It seems like they're trying to push as much into this ecosystem as possible, while keeping the "real" costs of a full kit as manageable as possible. And everyone's losing it over the internal raw of C200, yet the reality is that 98% of the time that raw is used will be in a controlled environment where external monitors are the norm and an external recorder isn't a big deal. And if you start factoring in the difference in SSD costs vs cfast... well, cost-wise the playing field starts to even. The weirder thing would be building a small camera that's perfect for doc and indy uses, shoving raw internal into it, an old ass 8 bit codec, and nothing in between... and no way to get non-raw 10bit... even from the output...

That's good to hear. Definitely keeping an open mind. I've got a big four month job coming up that will finish in the fall, leaving me flush with cash for a new camera this fall.
PS -- my very first camera, when I was a teenager, was a Panasonic SVHS camcorder.

Sucks so bad the Panasonic EVA1 lacks a Locking Micro Four Thirds Mount (like a baby made from the union of the JVC LS300 & Sony FS7 mk2 mounts).
Panasonic has blown a massive opportunity to provide an upgrade path for their GH users as they progress through their career, & was an opportunity to grow Panasonic GH5 sales at the same time.
However credit can be given to Panasonic for blasting out of the water the C200 which Canon just announced, but that fact should surprise exactly no one.

I'm disappointed they didn't leave it Super 35 and just stick to the MFT mount. I'm guess others that have invested in panasonic glass may be having the same reaction right now...

Hardly meaningless.... 10bit 4:2:2 log is capable of capturing the full DR of a sensor, if implemented right.

Every tech advance we've seen through the last 8 years has pushed the m43 crowd to a point where it will never be happy. I say this because we continue to see comments about price, too much of a video-E look, jello / jitter, IBIS looks off, and so on. Still some how these things wind up back ordered for months beyond release, you guys must be buying them.
If a manufacturer ever made the "perfect" camera, whatever that would be??? people would still complain about the price in the end. No camera manufacturer could ever deliver such, because it would be different for every user... wants/needs are subjective, Panasonic cant deliver that. I've seen the "just give me this or that in a camera" post since 2010, and the more they advance, the more people continue to demand, while waiting for the next new camera announcement.
The industry still considers these GH cameras consumer market items, and based on that alone, Panasonic has provided a lot throughout the years. You still have to understand Panasonic is a business just like Canon, and they all will move as such.

That's not what he said. He said that in order for Dual IS to work, you need to use Lumix lenses. IBIS will still work with everything else. It's like my GX80, it won't do Dual IS with an Olympus 12-100 but i'm sure getting really stable footage with my Olympus 25.

I've bit the bullet and pre-ordered.... I've been saying for a while that I will never again by an 8bit/4:2:0 camera... glad to finally put my money where my mouth is!

I think all the top of the line mirrorless/video cameras (of which the GH4 was surely one of those!) can now produce very fine images, as Tom Antos made that point recently in his 4K camera test for end of 2016:

Thus while moving image quality forward is indeed important, what matters even more is improving the existing functionality of the current camera and not having any stupid problems with them (hello Sony a6300... or hello Canon 5D mk4!!!). Which adding: 4K slow motion, 4K 30p 10bit 422, waveforms, vectorscopes, better EVF, full size HDMI, better XLR accessory, and much much more.... is what the GH5 does *right*!! :-)

For the multi-aspect ratio discussion, it doesn't look like one at all. Everything looks like standard Micro4/3 sensor, I think that ship has sailed.
As for the 400Mbps All-I comment I made before. Two of the guys that shot the GH5 promo videos replied back saying that although there is nothing official, they think that the 400Mbps All-I is indeed H.265 and NOT H.264. Nick Driftwood also replied back since I tried to confirm what he said during the Live Q&A and he said "it would HAVE to be h265 I believe :-) dont you?!".
When I wrote about wanting H.265 as an additional option I thought Panasonic wasn't really bold enough to pull it off but since the GH5 already have the HEVC encoders and these guys think the firmware update will bring H.265 400Mbps All-I, although there is nothing official about it, I don't doubt it will be indeed HEVC.

That's what an anamorphic mode is - 4:3

V Log L is well worth $100 but it's just silly that it's an add on. I think if the GH5 was 2099 it wouldn't even be a big deal.

So true. I see all these frustrated Camera users who want like 100MP Stills and 4 million ISO on M4/3 cameras. And they don't want to spend anything more than a 2-3 year old point and shoot.

I don't really care about anti-MTF or any other anti-something. Even more because the behavior of those people are the same as a 5 year old kid that his friend has a new toy, he doesn't even know what it can or cannot, but even if he knows, he nitpicks and disdain, just so he can feel better about he has, covering his possible insecurities and jealousy. It's pointless to waste your time on that, just choose whatever works for you and that's it. Be happy and talk with your images or something! hahahaha...

Is depressing reading on other places on the internet how quick the anti-MFT trolls are out, and of course their first red herring is "but it sucks at low light".
This low light argument reminds me of the megapixel race, sure there was big benefits from going from 2 megapixels to 5 megapixels, 12 megapixels, but then at around 16 megapixels to 24 megapixels range... the arguments got a *lot* weaker. And for 99.9% of users we don't need 50 megapixels!Ditto low light, not being constrained by 50 ISO film is *AWESOME*, then getting to 200 ISO... great! And now we can do workable 800 and 1600 and even 3200 ISO!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyeKIOV-EZw
Let's assume GH5 carries on and is one stop better even than that? How is that not a very workable ability to handle?
Do we NEED to have clean 100,00 ISO?? Nah, that is over the top in nearly all cases.
I'd rather pass on the unnecessary over the top extreme high ISO capabilities and have instead the well polished and extensive range of features that the GH5 will have.

I was thinking that exact same thing. If you look at the top-down image of the leaked photos, you'll see that the accessory shoe on top is not a hot-shoe for attaching a flash like the original XC10 has, it's a cold shoe with a screw hole, just like the C100 mkII has for mounting the XLR handle.

The first image attached is the leaked XC15 and below that is the same angle on the XC10.

If Canon is able to put a 24-100mm equivalent f1.8-2.8 in the G7x  which is tiny compared to the XC10, surely they can provide an even better lens with a similar focal length for the XC15. I know the slow lens tended to be the first thing most people complained about.

And an english homework for my little cousin class, my first training with the BMPCC:

Not exactly "horror" but recently we did a Halloween themed episode of our YouTube show called Boxmac: The Search for the Best Box of Mac and Cheese. We shot the cinematic parts using the GH4, vlog, and the Ninja Assassin. It's a parody of Crypt Keeper tales, so we were going for that TV horror feel complete with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
