JR Lipartito got a reaction from Sharathc47 in Fuji GFX 100 ProRes RAW?
Isn't internal/external recording more an issue with Prores Raw licensing than with the camera's ability to do so or not?
Not sure if this has been officially stated anywhere but I highly suspect the reason Panasonic made a partnership with Atomos was because the latter carries the license burden.  So I would imaging Fujifilm taking a similar approach or else it might have to be a paid upgrade to offset the cost of licensing.
Canon, on the other hand, is able to offer internal raw on the R5 so matter-of-factly because they have their own Cinema Raw codecs.

    I'd rather have 5K 60p RAW than 8K 30p RAW.

The production company I work for has purchased the new 1.5x Aivascope from the Facebook page. I honestly love it. It’s certainly not perfectly, but it’s given us the flexibility we need to shoot anamorphic without totally breaking the bank. It’s quite easy to use as well.
In my tests, I’ve found that the taking lens often gives the characteristics I’m looking to achieve. I feel the Aivascope is quite clinical and sharp. If I put a modern stills lens behind it, the image will be exactly that. However, if I put our Contax Zeiss set behind it, it takes on a totally new look. We shot a few spots with the Aivascope, Contax taking lens, and the S1H.

I believe we used the 50mm 1.4 for most, with the 85mm 1.4 and 35-70 3.4 for some pickup shots. We shot mostly at f2.8

    Hi,
it is an realy interesting look in the medium format anamorphic images. I am looking forward to see it in motion.  But I think using the Panasonic S1 in  ~6K Photo Mode and 4:3 ratio is a big competitor and not so expensiv.  Ok, you can only record 10 minutes, but I dont want to make interview movies.  Here an example image

    and here the final How-To-Corona-Clip:

Used: S1 + VLog, 58mm Helios, Isco Ultrastar Red and the great FVD-16A from Rapido Technology.
    Best regards
    Ingo

Still very restricted here about how far we can go from home but managed to use some of our allotted exercise slot this evening to take a bit more footage with the FP/45mm/Anamorphot.
And yes, that is a snake in the bottom left of the top picture.
And yes, I did shit myself when I saw it.

Some shots from the Baby Hypergonar on GFX 100
The trick here is apparently to use a lens with a rear element as small as your thumb.
On a sensor the size of the albert hall.
    Light works in mysterious ways.

Funnily enough, it actually does give off a nice light but it being solar does make it a little impractical

    I think I've nailed it.
With a bonus for using Comic Sans.

Ah...so maybe breaking it and covering it in barrel grease is the secret.
I need to do a YouTube video about it immediately with a thumbnail of me holding it at arms length in front of the camera whilst doing an open mouthed shocked face

Certainly is worth persevering with judging by the atmosphere in those shots. I think the Sigma 45mm is really well suited to anamorphic. I tried it on my Fp with the Bolex Moller and it's almost as if Rachel herself comes climbing out the picture. Another one of these lenses where the entrance pupil is very close to the anamorphic elements. It's got a lot more contrast than the Nikon E-series 50mm pancake I was using as well.
I just wish for the dual focus lenses, that the front variable diopters were a bit smaller and lighter. They are all 72mm+ monsters!

Well, inspired by your post, I thought I might sort out a setup today.
Nowhere on the same level as your ones but here is my very compact L mount full frame RAW anamorphic setup.

Taking lens is the Sigma 45mm and the (currently) less than ideal anamorphic element is provided courtesy of a pretty fucked SLR Magic Anamorphot-40 1.33x Compact.
I got the Anamorphot-40 very cheap used about 18 months ago and it literally fell apart like a clown car the second time I tried to use it and as you can see it hasn't fully been re-constructed as yet !
Obviously, when picking up the separate parts of it I managed to get barrel grease all over the elements (front and back of both of them no less) so it needs a proper clean as well as a few more screws.
I think I might persevere with that though as I think it will be worth the effort as even in its current smeary condition its got some promise from the couple of quick tests I did.

I read your article right before a Zoom meeting so I gave it a go and it connected just fine, but there are some caveats which I imagine may apply to other clients like Twitch as well. First the autofocus is quite atrocious and that alone limits its use as a webcam, probably for most people. With the 45mm Art it really struggled to track my face and I can't always be close enough to adjust it manually. Also once connected all the camera settings are locked. You have to disconnect the USB to change anything. On the 45mm I could at least change the aperture and toggle AF/MF using the lens controls so hopefully the lock on the camera side can be removed in a firmware update. My take on it is it's great in terms of plug&play--if nothing else then as a proof of concept, but not quite there yet in overall user experience.

Yes it's true. I escaped 6 months of drizzle, flooding, and unworkably shit cloud covered light to do an actual shoot.
We will find that out as I brought that with me as well.
The first time it has seen sunlight
I dare say the S1H is a bit cleaner in low light at 6400+

Who else thinks that this puts pressure on the GH6 to deliver more bang for the buck, especially considering that it will have have the smaller sensor disadvantage, and thus unable to justify a higher price than this?

Agree, but sometimes peak current draw is too much for one battery, I believe... Especially if you have powerful spec like 8K going on

It love the Z6 and the output but I’ve always had a soft spot for Fujifilm and sort of waited for them to release a camera like this (IBIS, internal 10-bit, 4k60). There’s also something about the lcd and viewfinder lag when in video mode with the Z6 that annoys me and that I never really could get over.
For stills though the Z6 is great and I might have to rebuy it when they finally release their compact primes

While I agree nobody forces anyone to upgrade.. there is a very real difference in between XH1 & XT3.
XH1 has IBIS, XT3 has 10-bit. Depending on usage, either one could be essential.
Personally, I wanted both features plus extra battery life. So I'm glad I skipped XH1/XT3 and will probably grab an XT4 ASAP!
Not holding my breath for XH2 though..

^Agreed. Most of my clients don't have a clue what I'm shooting with. Could I get by with a 5D3? Probably, most of my deliveries are still in FHD. New gear can be inspiring though and the features they bring are useful to me as a DP.
    XT2/XH1 has a 0.2x crop when shooting 4K. So you're really at 1.7x instead of true 1.5x APS-C/Super35 like XT3/XT4 has.
Again, no client would ever notice that but it does make a difference when composing.
I personally skipped XH1/XT3 coming from an XT2 but will probably pick up an XT4.
I just love those dials, overall IQ and lack of OLPF on X-Trans sensors.
