    I was wrong.
    I was a fool.
I bought a Ursa Mini 4.6k EF mount.
A week before the Ursa Mini Pro came out.
    Opps.
But, still, this camera is incredible.
I was an idiot for criticizing them.
And now with the pro, they have delivered an ideal camera - capable of Raw or log for only $6000.  That looks like an alexa.  That is built well.  That is small.  That seems to not overheat.  A really amazing camera.
Blackmagic has done what Red had dreamed of.

Just like the documentary called Bombay Beach that was shown in theaters and shot with a Canon Vixia. I loved my GH2 GH3 and GH4, but they really don't hold a candle to my BMPCC and if I spend six months or longer writing a story, creating a treatment and storyboarding there is no fucking way I'd choose any of those cams over a bmpcc or bmmcc.

Here's the funny thing about that comment. It still is a pocket camera in a way. I use my pocket both on and off my Beholder gimbal while keeping my Jukebox in my sweatshirt pocket, at the ready, between shots. Works like a charm and I've yet to run out of battery in a day. The image coming out of the pocket took some working to make easier, but as tech has progressed so many new products have come out to make this cam better. I have few complaints with my pocket cam.

Cool! freddiew started RocketJump Film School: https://www.youtube.com/user/RJFilmSchool , been around for maybe a year or so now.
I always enjoy the roundtables on The Hollywood Reporter that invite Directors and Cinematographers. Believe these are the most recent ones:

Means... another two or three months and then we have new ones! Love listening to people in the bizz talking about their craft.

At film school, your professors are usually not actively working in the field.
So this WanderingDP - interview young up and coming DPs who share unique perspectives and ideas is incredibly valuable.  I learned a ton from the interview with Chayse Irvin, super talented young dp who shot the Lemonade Beyonce film.

    Noooooooooooooooo.............. don't get BMCC EF!!!

Get BMCC MFT at least, or even better BMPCC / BMMCC.

I feel I've incrementally thrown way too much money at the BMMCC to get it functioning - vintage super16 lenses, SmallHD 502, Small Rig cage, rods, Mattebox, IRND - and now looking at shouldermount/lanc trigger options. Still most of this stuff can/will be used for other rigs in future so if you look at it as brain only, it still works out to be good value..

The way that you've written this sounds like it is a problem, can you throw up an image or 2?
One thing that the Super Taks are renowned for is their thin plane of focus when wide open, but am assuming that this isn't the case....
Also, as Hans said, Diopters will introduce more distortion to the anamorphic qualities & this can produce an overly soft extra-stretched effect. Good quality diopters (doublets, not singlets) tend to control this more, but can still be present.
I've found this to be a problem & now now tend to use longer taking lenses with my Iscorama, when i want to do close-ups etc... I also find getting too up close & personal with real people can be off putting for everyone concerned - objects don't get put off!

This is at a T/2.8 on a GH4 using a Kowa Bell & Howell with the Rectilux, followed by the SLR Magic Rangefinder. For each, I am seated as close as focus would allow. Forgive the sloppy alignment issues, I rushed this. Must get back to writing so i actually have a movie to use this stuff for...

also, if you're wondering which one looks more like the Kowa on it's own, it's the Rectilux. The Rangefinder adds warmth, blue flares/haze. Preference for either is left up to individual taste, I suppose.

Micro body and features, but with the 2.5K sensor, would be my ideal right now.

I started in photography prior to video. I too wouldn't take my GH4 on a shoot for stills. I'd take a Nikon or Canon.

    Just as an example.
Yes, and I have seen people 'shitting'. Right now there is a discussion between Brawley and some professor Kino, like a fight of Jaeger vs. Kaiju. Entertaining though these arguments are (for a while), they don't help much. With video I rather trust my eyes. If what I see pleases me, that's all I need to know. Then I read reports on the problems and how they can be solved.

Indeed, a lot of the so-called magenta examples on the forums are suspicious to me. They shoot a white wall at f/16 or some ungodly aperture, push the saturation to over 100% in post, and then complain that there is something wrong with the Ursa 4.6k sensor as opposed to their own test methods! Of course, if you do this with any camera, you are not going to get a good result. It's such a waste of time and it takes attention away from those units that may have real problems.
As for the price/performance of BMD cameras, there is no argument from me. They are simply the best in their price range as I've stated above. Where else can you buy a $3K camera with 4K 12 bit RAW, 2 XLRs, an LCD, SDI out, a global shutter, and a Resolve USB key valued at $1000? It's a crazy good deal!

I can't speak for everyone that has bought a 4.6K, but myself, and the 2 people I know in town who bought one, haven't had any problems with the magenta corners. I even did a stress test against a white wall at f/8 35-70mm.

If you'd read my other posts, then you'd have seen that I too have had no issues with BM products either - I have the pocket, it's rock solid & an amazing camera.
People who complain about silly things, like battery life or perfectly acceptable screens, just aren't serious enough for my tastes. Finding excuses seems to be rife at the moment, but price vs. image quality and you just can't overlook BM cameras - if you do, you're just missing out on some of the best cameras out there. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! People have got to stop listening to those with other agendas & actually try using one of these cameras. The Pocket's 45mins battery life is not a problem, simply because if you've ever done any filming, 45mins is a long time & you're never going to be filming continuously (you will stop, move etc.), so how hard is it to change a battery - takes a few seconds & few more if you need to change the SD card too. The more you film with something, the more you're aware of what you need to do - if you've never used a camera, your opinion is irrelevant, pointless & just plain stupid.
That comment, about the C300, was just for the people who have been bashing BM cams (& DSLRs, especially Canon) & the next step up for them would be something like the C series - they'd complain about that too, "It's too expensive...blah, blah, blah....."

I shoot professional gigs every week with Blackmagic cameras and I have not had one issue with reliability. My job sometimes is to capture both video and stills and I have way more issues with my Nikon D800/D3s freezing up and having to eject the battery, etc ..  Had the pocket since it came out and have never had an issue with it in terms of reliability. Micro Cinema, no issues yet either.

Yeah, you'd be 100% wrong there. But carry on...
They seem to have sold thousands of them.  Mostly they're still backordered.
    Such as...?
Resolve...?  Oh wait, you get that included with the camera...
    Monitors ?  Converters ?  I think you're stretching a pretty long bow....
