I have just been sent a ProRes file recorded in 4K UHD off a Panasonic G7 via the HDMI out onto a Atomos Ninja Assassin , on checking the file in Quick Time movie inspector it says APPLE PRORES 422 (HQ) 3840 X 2160 25fps 744.97 mb/s

So it does it the G7 streams 4K UHD out its HDMI out !!! - amazing this is now a serious film making tool when paired with a Metabones Speedbooster XL and Nikon 2.8 Zooms lenses

the point Im trying to make is we all can shoot images with a Panny and Metabones and some good glass like the Nikon Bourne Lenes that is equal to any major movie images , its just a bit of thought into how you light it frame it and shoot it , everyone on this forum can do this without buying a Red or and Arri Alexa and some Arri Zeiss master primes .

x100000 agreed! Absolutely want crop marks, in a variety of options.
It is such a simple thing, even the GH1 could've had it? Or the GH2.... or the GH3.... or GH4....  why on earth is it still missing??

Has anyone heard anything about whether the automatic anamorphic crop mode of the GH4 has been retained/improved?  Or will it require manual post-processing?

That's quite a good endorsement for the G80. I am changing my mind and buying it. Will just wait a while as my G7 is less than a month old and maybe Panasonic will have a £100 cashback on it at some point like they just did with the G7. Pretty much a certain buy if the video is better than the G7 (which I bought partly due to raving reviews from people like Andy). It is around a third of the price of the GH5 and certainly won't have an image 3 times worse.
Could use the money saved to consider the 8-18mm lens which might be awesome, like allowing filters and no purple blobs like you get with the 7-14mm.
Edit: there is already a pretty good deal on it in UK- free battery grip which is a big deal with their little batteries. I am guessing this is worth around £150.

This last video is making the rep sweat lol. Will be very interesting to compare the 200 Mbps FZ to the old FZ, plus the 4:2:2 G80 to the G7. Its like previewing certain GH5 specs by themselves. Maybe the G80 move to 4:2:2 will be enough of an improvement for those not needing V Log.

Time ! thats why , shooting multi cam saves time and money and lets you get alot more setups done per day , I had 6 x G7's rigged up on Gini Rigs that I custom made ,
I had 2 rigs with Nikon 80-200mm lenses, 2 with Nikon 28-70mm lenses and one with a Nikon 20-35mm lens the sixth G7 was used on steady rigs and dolly tracks and sliders with various different lenses , all cameras had Metabones XL speedboosters on them to give me a Super 35mm field of view on the lenses , most set ups I would run 3 cameras , a close up, a mid and a wide , the actors loved it as we could do long takes 3 min passes at times and pick off head shots, mids and wides all in one performance .
Some set ups I did run 6 cameras at once as we had some complex special FX shots with prosthetic heads and blood and gore etc .
Multi cam is the way to go , we shot the movie in 44 days , and if we had done it traditionally with just 1 camera it would have taken maybe 60 days plus .
So multi cam saved us alot of time and money , the Panasonic G7s all performened amazing no issues at all and we shot 12 hr days every day , the rigs and camera and lenses got Battle Tested to the limit and all worked beyond my expectations , The G7 is an amazing camera its very very good in low light much better than the GH4 as it has a newer better sensor , I could not have shot this movie without the G7 it let me shoot 3 or 4 stops under for most of the movie , I like that low light Gordon Willis - "Prince of Darkness" look so the G7 let me push that to the limit with no noise and fizz at all in the blacks , its very very good!!

    Just keeping you informed...again.

It is officially past the deadline that I gave Ebrahim Saawadi for repayment, and I was not paid at all. He hasn't responded to my emails in the last two weeks and I can't imagine he would again.

So it is very disapointing Ebrahim Saawadi has not kept to his word and even responded to James emails let alone trying to repay him in full.

all the footage I shot for the movie is owned by the film production company , they have released some low res saved for web images to me so I can share them on EOSHD . Film companies dont relase any hi res stuff until after the film is released  ,
So look at the lighting grade composition low light levels etc etc but remember these are lo res saved for web pictures you are seeing not UHD 4K uncompressed frame grabs. there is no micoblocking on the actual footage I shot .
I shot most of the movie at 800 iso f2.5 I lit the sets for that stop and ISO , I did shoot some scenes at 640 and 400 maybe 20% of the movie but most was at 800 iso
the G7 is very clean and usable at 800iso       PS the entire film is shot at night there are no daylight scenes in the movie
