when you are working on a Movie you sign a contract and NDA ! and that contrat says there is an embargo on anything going out without premission from the film company - they own everything they paid for it including all my tests - now we live in a world of Facebook and twitter film companies dont want any leaks beore their marketing department decides what people can see and when .
So yes I can tell you the results of all my tests right now - just take my word the G7 kicks ass , with a Metabones XL - Nikon Glass and Atomos Ninja Assassin all rigged up on my Gini Rigs cages it s a serious film making tool

Now Colour grading is all in my eye - I shoot flat and add the colour in post - alot of my colour is on set I light always with coloured gels and get the look I want in camera - just on a flat profile so I get cleaner blacks with more detail - not crushed out

no you cant do both at once , its either or !!  I have brought this up at meetings with Panasonic as we all would like this feature , the G7 will not do this, I just shot a feature film with 6 x Panasonic G7 cameras , its a great camera !

@markr041 if you didn't do any locationing, have no budget, no production "values", no time, do not know how to light, or do not want to; sorry to say that, but no camera can save your life.

Canon FD lenses are superb , great glass highly recommend , especially on soeedboosters , they are all manual focus , you cannot autofocus these lenses at all.
The primes are great and the zooms are also very good, 24-35mm l series , 35-70mm f4 zoom is steller for the money , 35-105mm 3.5 is also very good!!

This is why I don't shoot v log , you get so tweeked up correcting it back to look just normal , them you apply the grade to get the look you want , now you are massively tweeked up , then just say you need to tweek a single colour on a door or wall and next you are now hugely massive tweeked up and you start to break up the image codec ....so I shoot natural profile always , saturation -5 , contrast -5 , and it all works fine for me that way . I always try get it looking good in camera , don't crush the blacks , and I shoot Pannys warmer at 4000k not 3200k , that helps a lot on the skin tones

Looking forward seeing more clips, still cautiously optimistic. But going to wait to see how the anamorphic mode pans out (and also to see what NAB has to offer) before ordering one.

With Panasonic, for good skin tones, there's no need for V-log - just white balance and expose correctly. Done! So many trying to fix in post what could have been obtained much more easily in camera.

Many of the features that were on the GH4 were inherited by the G85, and it arguably has the better sensor, better color and more accurate white balance (some will disagree, that's fine). Not only that, but they added IBIS to the G85, one reason I stopped using the GH4 and eventually sold it. And for me, the G85 is the perfect size. But opinions are what make the world go 'round (or something like that).

Here's my trick with Panny cameras I shoot tungsten at 4000k , never 3200k as it looks too pale on skin , I like warm tones , is shot the whole of the Pandora movie at 4000k for the tungsten ( arri Fresnels) and all the exterior day at 6500k not 5600k , and I've used that for the past 3 years on all panny cameras , it just looks nicer on skin tones , just dial in the kelvin manually , don't use presets at all

@webrunner5 everything I listed above plus film grain (ideally organic noise), and film-look grading or using a film style LUT (PP CC has a few, there's also Film Convert and others), I'm certain it can have a film look, even in 4K. A super detailed noise free look is fine for corporate, commercials, YouTube vloggers, etc., and with a little work can look quite filmic too. Remember @Neumann Films example (I tweaked this frame- see full screen):

https://www.filmconvert.com/ has a GH4 + Vlog and Varicam LT profiles and I'm sure will have GH5 too (if the Varicam LT is log, that might work on the GH5).

Nice all around camera. Can be cinematic with the right lens (e.g Voigtlander F.95), filter (ProMist or similar), 24p, and log to protect highlights (+grading. Lighting is important though cinéma vérité can work too).
This is a no excuse camera, now anyone can make a blockbuster . @Orangenz are you waiting for Peter Jackson to get his so you can combine cameras for District Kong Hobbit IX 3D? If you shoot it Birdman style in one take then throw on a LUT, you'd be done in about two hours!

Keep an eye on UK Digital, Mundus and Wöltje listed at: https://geizhals.eu/panasonic-lumix-dmc-gh5-schwarz-gehaeuse-a1558055.html?hloc=at&hloc=de&hloc=pl&hloc=uk&hloc=eu . From the G80 release I believe they were the first ones to sport a few units. I probably have the best chance again picking up one from the local A-S Elektro, they don't ship, it's pick-up only. More places in town like it with some fair odds, like with the E-M1 Mark II was the case (actually didn't end up buying one... for now). Actually think the E-M1 Mark II was for sale two days earlier in The Netherlands, so maybe also keep an eye on here: https://tweakers.net/product/537687/panasonic-lumix-g-dmc-gh5/ . For people in Switzerland or close-by, keep an eye on: https://en.toppreise.ch/index.php?search=gh5&sRes=OK , also, I believe somewhere someone dropped a hint that Panasonic has some % off until the end of the month or something? If the situation applies to you, maybe worth checking into (-- ah, over here , 2906 CHF (~ 2699 EUR) incl. Leica lens, battery grip & audio unit, not too bad).
