  1. I know it's not a test, but as a demo I found ICE to be beautiful. How have you found the 10bit vlog samples?
  2. Just need to run a separate power lead so I don't have to hang the battery off the back like that. This runs great. Off Aliexp, "wolfgang fw760", with v1.63 firmware.
  3. The LED on the monitor? Red is power off, green is power on. My firmware is 4K V1.63 Lag about 1/3 of a second - quite manageable. 4K output from GH4 gives best image results. Very light weight. Getting an adaptor to move the battery beneath the camera probably an idea. For US$121 it's pretty amazing.
  4. Nice (30min) iphonedo comparison review including the bad karma.
  5. As I understand it, he's got a bit of a manic-depressive thing going on. He's using the vlog to help himself through. A bit slow for me but I respect him for containing things and getting a bunch of work done along the way.
  6. Err.. not really following you. The OP wanted to know about slow motion, which your links answers well. The problem was he found a video about something completely different. The point the first video was making though, is basically the same as what you just said, shoot the project at that frame rate in the first place.
  7. Sort of. But it looks like the guy in the video isn't trying to slow the motion at all. A lot of people do make the mistake he's referring to. Shoot at 30, play back at 24 and wonder why it stutters, eg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zrJuMoNCbY Nothing to do with trying to use slowmo. If you have a variety of input videos (like from mobile phone and a G85) then they might be at different frame rates and you want them to play at normal speed without skipping. In that case, if you really have to, click a couple of boxes when exporting. Use maximum render quality, and optical flow. For slowmotion effects, follow what Axel said.
  8. At the moment all we have is a sentence from Matt Fraser saying he tried it for the vlog context and it locked on solidly. Not long now!
  9. Mine didn't get out of China before New Year's so will be a while yet I think.
  10. There's maybe a couple of shots that seem off, like the two people, but the rest nail it. Every shot with just the eos lut look red. How are you getting rid of the red tint?
  11. I think your one gets it right for this shot. CG makes it look too dark and turns her skin brown.
  12. I'm in PAL land and it offers 100p HD. All the video modes are the same speed for AF (although HFR stops AF when you arm it). It does a fairly quick slide from one point to another. This is a slow transition though as opposed to the instant bang in photo mode. It's far more pleasing for video of course. It's a bit hit and miss but usually quite quick to get started. Oh Lock-on-AF? No, that doesn't seem to work at HD100p
  13. It suggests there is no difference to dynamic range, sure. But reducing the distribution of that range to 16-235 means far greater likelyhood of seeing banding in plain colour areas and when lifting shadows or reducing highlights. I think better to understand Premiere settings.
  14. I asked this to lumix usa via twitter (as Matt et al said they would respond) and no response.
  15. US$120 with free shipping. It's about half way from China to me. Probably won't be able to add anything to what Ronnie has said, but will see. Coming up to their New Year btw, so keep that in mind.
  16. Download the raw files from Neumann films. In particular the one where he walks around the waterfall. Put a 5% warp stabiliser on it. Be amazed.
  17. Great content! Still looks ungraded to me - flat.
  18. Matt Frazer has said several times across several videos that this is not the case. It is around a 18.7 MP crop in 4:3 from the sensor. He said it is not going to be a 20MP 4:3 video stream. Even Griffin is misunderstanding this and repeats the "full sensor 4:3" mistake in his question to Matt. Matt corrects him eventually at 10:43
  19. Well obviously I did too. The problem I think (for me) is the photo still isn't directly straight on, so there is some hidden along the top. Nice summary of it's stats. The menu system with huge custom function tab sounds great! The shutter is so nice sounding! More pixels!
  20. Well that doesn't look 4:3 does it? Still, they say 5184 x 3888, so has to be.
