Emanuel reacted to deezid in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
I won't jump ships if Panasonic would at least offer an option to disable both (at least in V-log and HLG).
Tired of all the filtering and diffusion I have to do to hide the artifacts and thinness caused by it.
If they'll do I would probably just invest into the new Atomos Ninja V instead.

I made a comparison of sensor sizes of BMPCC 4K, BMPCC, GH5s, Full Frame.

Emanuel reacted to frontfocus in Fuji X-H1. IBIS, Phase Detect 4K beast?
It‘s no surprise, that people in a videocentric forum don‘t really know a lot about the digital Fuji cameras. The first generations (X-Pro1) video was unusable. Second gen (X-T1) was bad.
That‘s why it was a big surprise, when Fuji had very nice quality video with the X-T2 and improved upon it, especially on the Handling with the X-H1.
Their firmware policy, often called Kaizen philosophy, developed more out of need. Their first cameras, X100 and X-Pro1 were missing quite some feature people were used to and had some bugs. So Fuji improved, and improved and kept improving. Just zake a look at the list of improvements for those cameras

With their new cameras they kept that philosophy and add most features from new models which. Very nice idea, but it needs a lot of ressources. And if you look at the comments of fujirumors, people are actually complaining, because they want more and more

I think Fuji was one of the first to roll out significant firmwareupdates. Only it was with stills until now, since their cameras weren't really made for video. All Fuji cameras have gotten many firmwareupdates, it's something one should think of when buying it.
The X-T2 was introduced at the beginning of July 2016. And it gets some very nice features like internal Log recording or slowmotion for free now.
It won't match the X-H1, will still be missing features like 1/48s shutter speed, 200Mbit codec, Eterna film simulation, DR200% and Dr400% and other features and of course it won't get features similar to a GH5s, but I think X-T2 buyers never expected those to happen.
Overall it's very nice to see those things added, for those owning both X-H1 and X-T2 this helps a lot.

Still on topic... This is a Mark II product. From a well-known camera manufacturer and Resolve provider, amongst other goodies.
Far away to be any introductory technology based on crowdfunding. Well, unless we have to call the mainstream RED the same... ;-)

Trouble is with this camera is we are going to have to Produce some damn good footage out of it, or it will be our fault, probably not he cameras fault. Yikes.
I have sort of an excuse, I am old. Emanuel you do not, I have seen how old you are LoL. Somehow I don't see a Cannes Lion in my future. But you never know.

They will have to respond to keep the game up and we all win here :-)

Really, this is a game changer... Reminds me RED's proposal some other NAB a dozen of years ago but for indies, genuinely, this time :-)

Unlikely to be the standard GH5 sensor. I bet in a new one but Dave has inferred to be the GH5S... What do we know about?
EDIT -- You beat me @SR : ) Different sizes don't seem to match the same sensor of a kind. At least to my humble knowledge :-)

It is funny the way this camera is changing the way you address the GH5S model now, isn't it our good friend Don? ; ) I think we both know how Jon is plainly aware of the power of this BMD introduction and their new introductory price on this game now... :-)

@jonpais, no idea why you don't concur really... Downvotes are not the best out of me : D I think to each its own. If we're speaking about the same on topic, that's a unique product out there. With no mention in that such price range, go figure : ) This is mainly a forum for filmmakers. Vlogging can end in an interesting and effective way to democratically express ideas and even pictures but has its place. Not really need to overuse more than strictly fits the task IMNSHO and Don accurately inferred. Out of likes today :-)

Emanuel got a reaction from greenscreen in GH5S Sample Footage and Reviews
What puzzles me is the poor photography men apply or achieve with the excuse based on available light when should even be a way further more demanding circumstances for improving framing -- truly B-factor, as for instance, though;
seen, on the contrary, in that NY footage above instead...
(just my two cents anyways, E :-)

4/3" format is well demanding more than any other larger one, like night and day, you can drive in one of those directions between a more cinematic way exploiting glass routes such as those supplied by friendly speed boosters or fall in the videoish category instead... GH5S versus the GH5 standard as comparative tools in one line : D so to speak ; )
But, as we all know it is everything in the pilot's hands no matter what : ) That said...
^ here's a fine example of that :-)

Not a comparative but I find the other one above-posted by me much more interesting though... : )
The glass settings choice there obviously counts :-)

Still TBD 'cause of the percentage of plastic and carbon composite materials to yet finish it.
Clearly the way Grant Petty used in front of the press to announce the thing though :-)

Well a lot of us were requesting Atomos to make a 5" recorder. Well BM has made it happen in Spades. I doubt Atomos is happy about this roll out either!
Jesus the new Sony A7s mk III is going to have to be a mini F55 to make it at 1500 bucks on top of it..

I quite like the design. Kind of retro, and it reminds me of the Panasonic DVX100, which I really loved back in the days of DV tapes.

I think the guy that designed the Atari 2600 designed this.
