Without mention the 100,000 bucks mark as starting point, where you had to be in the past to take off from, going with film processing and lab bills, as average for a feature film. You can begin now already from that basis, with no-budget mantra in mind nowadays. Likely you reached that milestone per se : ) The matter is that we're hardly able to set it up below than a low budget, feasible today for a portion of the seven digits, at least, you had the need onetime. Much less, actually. With the same equipment both professional and amateur use or alike. Drone shots, as for instance, when wisely and creatively used, bring a production value formerly only watched in mere hollywood standards. - EAG

How come to miss the point when the OP is precisely asking to compare the Pocket series with just another Japanese camera with those fancy but countless-and-useless (a good part of them!) menu options?! This is a myth : ) No other user interface is more user-friendly than my Pocket series. TBH those Japanese camera menus are a piece of crap to those who love photography and make a living from moving pictures :- ) Old school still rules. - EAG

Nothing against people enjoying sports footage at all : ) Let alone extreme sports ; ) What I feel annoying is the lack of quality we generally find when people shoot them or the whole mania ad nauseam about it. To begin with absence of care about framing, photography, etc.. Without mention the way people infer a small camera is made for. There's a gap from there to regular capture devices still to be fulfilled. There should be more love for nonintrusive acquisition. Not everyone seeking for miniaturization on cinematography is necessarily looking for action cameras. The way the manufacturers or their marketing sees the trend, is underwhelming, to say the least. To whom like me has his roots based on neorealism or some frontier in-between narrative and documentary, as for instance, will invariably appreciate a small form factor with better IQ match. Not easy to find to each release nowadays, exactly because of the above-mentioned I've just written. Last but not least, all of this also in behalf of extreme sports shooters obviously, why not? ; ) When people know what they're doing ofc :- )
