Well, you didn't lose it, just readjust the AF... ; ) Other than the bean bag, what else you used to stabilize it? OIS? What lens? The expensive Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM? EIS too, I guess? What frame rate acquisition? Impressive result... : ) If this works in a jungle, imagine now for street photography!
-
LOL I assume I can't resist to that 8K60p in such small form factor but I'm still all ears! :- )
-

Something funny is the fact I only see a triple advantage for R5C coming from P4K... Higher resolution for extracting stills towards large format printing on wider hybrid route and media convergence, as well faster frame rates and competent AF to end the triad. Other than that, RX30 size seems perfect sized instead, while R5C can form another brick as big as P4K... https://camerasize.com/compare/#782,886 ...imagine it with the external power (minimal wedding ) rig... : D
-
I feel myself tempted, I am... but I am all ears what makes you colder with, because perhaps we have distinct uses for. Is it bulky? With external power, but don't you agree there are different options with variable results accordingly? I love the minimal RX30 form factor as for instance but when compare both outcome on high ISOs and fast frame rates, I stop myself and am not able to help anymore. People also complain of lack of IBIS, I tend to see it as a bless when powered by OIS and yet extra coupled to EIS/DIS instead. Anyway, please tell us more about your issues, no criticism is unwelcome! : ) On the contrary, anything which actually stop my irresistible proof Netflix certification means too little, really helps... -- no pun intended at all :- )
-
I am in the market to probably end to buy one... I cannot help myself and trust me, I've tried my very best! LOL My vote goes for Rig #2 MINIMAL WEDDING RIG ! You see? R5C is NOT actually married with the tripod, just up to us know how to date her... ;- )
-
Haven't you actually owned or used one too after all ?! Yet as disclaimer to my precedent comment above-posted, don't take me by mistake because I always love the existence of contradictory, so active criticism is invariably welcome and can only be pointedly incentivated but no less to balance the point of view or we end unfairly biased at the wrong side of the road : ) Let me tell you what I'd tend to believe without it... R7 and their sisters are all mirrorless cameras while R5C is already a married woman when AFAIK that's pretty inaccurate :- )
-
I sincerely think and stand what fairly bothers you is prone very likely to be indifferent to many others. Really : ) Aside as you've just said, no camera is even a piece of cake when sand lies nearby beyond the fact you can always diminish the risk adding your rig. No other capture device will peacefully rescue from. Let alone what @gt3rs has pointed out ; ) Does R5C become a tripod camera because its external power add-on you can always replace it under 8K50p/60p? Without mention the weak battery life you need to learn to live with (as many other stuff on shooting) which is more easy to overcome than the lack of features you won't find anywhere else. I plainly didn't understand your comment to be honest in any way other than as a simple manifestation of your taste you and a few others are perfectly entitled to tell us but far to be science, that's my feeling :- )
-
As hinted up there, the use of gimbal is a whole different story, a bit like dolly shots, they don't fit here because they belong to another competition, definitely with no replacement for ;- )
-
It's exactly my feeling on R5C : ) You need inexpensive external power to 8K60p anyway, no other hybrid camera will offer the same (you wrote "slow photo/video switching"?), go figure on this price range, DR @ R5 level fits the bill and IBIS is NOT actually the wishful thinking people dream all about. I'd rather have a builky circa 150 grams more in hands than to a fresh 2nd unit to replace my limited hot brick no dust sucker fan will carry me closer... Something I like though, brings the wallet three times lighter, impossible to complain on that one ;- )
-
Yup, reason why I cannot be so enthusiastic other than with the only single Canon hybrid to actually impress me: R5C ; ) The rumoured R5II to be announced soon according to the usual suspects doesn't convince me either: The same bet for RX3/RX30 series with the internal fan design. Exactly because of the introduction of decent overheating management or it's the chaos then.

Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)
Emanuel replied to newfoundmass's topic in Cameras
Some sources mention a new AF system to be introduced... -
Just coming from here: Where looks like pretty obvious why a R5C makes sense to the world, at least to me or this complex film world : ) Let alone the whole most frustrating saga signed by Canon with the R5 introduction and their overheating plot, since those 5D Mark II days... The R6 Mark II has just arrived to the shelves... so, here we go again? Canon EOS R5 Mark II Specifications (Rumored) New 61MP CMOS BSI sensor Dual DIGIC X processor 30 FPS electronic shutter with tracking / 12 FPS mechanical shutter Same 8-stop IBIS New High Resolution mode similar to pixel shift shooting found on Sony/Fujifilm 2x/4x/8x digital tele-convertor Same Dual Pixel CMOS AF II from EOS R3 and EOS R6 Mark II Internal 8K 60p video recording (8K RAW video spec to be confirmed) Internal 4K 30p/60p/120p video recording (all by oversampling) FHD 240p video recording Focus breathing correction for video New overheat prevention design similar to EOS R6 Mark II, at least 40min for 8K video, and over 60 min for 4K video Dual CFexpress type B card slot Standard HDMI port Dual USB-C port 9.44M-dot EVF New design of vari-angle LCD monitor optimized for video shooting Launch time: 2023 Q2 source

They're far to be the same method to arrive to the same outcome under much variable circumstances. What's your favorite method? Some food for thought here: OIS | DIS 2nd sample OIS on vs off vs IBIS 2nd sample ..."however neither will fall people into thinking that they're a gimble move" I believe this quote on minute 04:57 resumes the whole thing anyway... BTW, here's an interesting article to testify why for some reason R5C has no IBIS at all: https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/EOS-DSLR-Mirrorless-Cameras/R3-R5-R6-R7-IBIS-RUINS-footage-shot-at-wide-focal-lengths-I/td-p/379031

Thank you! Such "torture" test as you've called it : D has shown to declare some truth from very of its own... The locations and lit vs shadow areas picked by you follow the whole thing : ) However, I'd still be eager to find the same location(s) (because not every locations and light + dark/shadow circumstances challenge the capture device in the same way) and the noise obviously under different ISOs... from one end to another. Don't want to bug you with, if you'll be willing to offer though, that would be rather useful to everyone looking for buying the camera. Much appreciated, - EAG :- )

Your bet and love? I am still speechless but obviously proud, after an impressive 6-1 victory by my native country Portugal over Switzerland last night, going towards the quarter-finals then now... Oh well, perhaps the price to pay when we had (not only) Cristiano Ronaldo or the Italian Serie A best player Rafael Leão as backups?! The world's top right-back (but also capable of playing either as a full-back or a wing-back on the right or yet left-back) Man City's João Cancelo didn't even have to leave the bench this time... https://www.foxsports.com/watch/play-612ab9b5a001519 HERE the highlights with no comments : ) Go Portugal, go! < 3

To those who still complain on lack of IBIS... Here is a test made without it on the inexpensive RF 24mm f/1.8. It's not the R5C but just for the sake of it shows how it does the job done though, eventually more suitable than any wobble/jerky artifacts for poor handheld work anyway.

Yet on the above-posted concern and @TomTheDP accurate response ofc, still wondering about the performance of this capture device, also actually noticed by @angang and as for instance here: So: Can you @markr041 or any other FX30 user out there, give it a try on low light under distinct ISOs for 4K 120fps? How noisy the MFT wide crop ends to be?

Retweeted by our webmaster : ) Lovely... Fuji GX680, Ilford FP4. Nice to follow routes to achieve this going on our current digital capture devices ; )

Thanks : ) And what about the RØDE Wireless Go II?
-
Thank you... And what about their audio wireless?

Very frankly, I guess they are more or less the same today : ) Ah aside Sony's AF and multiple choices on GH series.
-
No, not at all! : ) Thanks for asking, wondering about the same!

Pleasant pictures out there : ) I guess it may fit when not under more demanding focus challenge? Or depending on the lenses used by you? What exactly lenses have performed fine for such results you've noticed?
