DPReview reports a6500 having the same crop for 30p in 4K mode. Looks like the sensor is identical to a6300, so I bet the rolling shutter is gonna be the same.

Maybe it's not a touch screen. It's an Almost Touch Screen. Like the video on the A6300, where you can Almost Shoot Movies. Cause with the overheating, photos seem more safe.
Maybe the A6300 is perfect for Vines. Not Filmmaking.

The GX85 seems like the best value on the market if you're a shooter desiring 5-axis stabilization.  It's a cheap cam with good IQ and the 5-axis works quite well.
    Who can argue with that?
Would I say it's a great camera overall?  No.  But it's an AWESOME camera if you're buying it to do what it's strengths allow you to do --'kuz you get more for less.

Hot off the A6500 announcement, the GX80 seems like a better deal than ever. Thanks to Sony to validating my choice.
    Let's look at the numbers:
    GX80: 599 Euros
    A6500: 1699 Euros
Granted, the A6500 will probably offer everything the A6300 offered with slightly better IQ (to be confirmed), better autofocus (to be confirmed), no overheating (to be confirmed), a touch screen, 5 axis IBIS. However, I question if it's 1100 Euros better than the GX80. That would be a lot left over for lenses and stuff.

IMHO it's also better suited for Guerilla shooting. Far less conspicuous than the G7 or G85, and obviously than the GH4. And most of the tech on the G85

IMHO if we keep the video aside, for a moment, the DJI Mavic is way more advanced than the GoPro Karma, simply by the insane level of its features (travel range, speed, ability to tackle obstacles, follow users, respond to gestures for commands, sending great quality video to the controller/ smartphone, being like 1/3rd or 1/4th the size of the GoPro Karma, etc etc). These features alone push it into a different league.

Then add the price difference. The GoPro throws in a removable camera, and a removable gimbal, but for a lot more (many hundred dollars more). If DJI had a removable camera module, with a built in stabilizer or a stabilizer stick, the GoPro would have been a joke. I doubt whether Anyone would have bought it.

As a Drone they aren't even in the same category, atleast where features are concerned.

Tha last video kinda sold me too (kinda). BUT...The first comparison is a joke..He compares a camera with fixed focus to infinity with a camera with adjustable focus on a subject that's 50-70cm away...There is no way that this is not stupid...Actually it is stupid enough for someone to stop the video and wait for the next one to make conclusions...Also, if the footage is legit, mavic's image quality is fine for dayshots but very weak at nightshots. P4 seems to give a more pleasing image at those nightshots with slightly better DR and less noise. Overall, mavic is starting to gain some ground and its totally DJI's fault that it lost its popularity last week. When you produce groundbraking products like this you just don't send the prototypes to fools and if you do, at least try to include a brochure with BIG black letters in a sentence like "tap to focus..."

The more I am reading about Olympus, the More I am convinced this is the sensor that will take on the APS-C DSLR brigade. Especially for photography.

"AW: What was Olympus’s main point in mind when designing the E-M1 II?
SK: The primary point is speed, which is increased dramatically, not just the continuous shooting but also the autofocus and viewfinder refresh rate. The sensor readout is faster, and the data processing speed has dramatically improved.

AW: In its launch presentation Olympus said the E-M1 II would offer a better value proposition than APS-C. Can you expand on that; for example did it mean both DSLR and mirrorless?
SK: In a sense it’s both, but more about the conventional APS-C DSLR than APS-C CSCs. With the E-M1 Mark II we have surpassed the speed and image quality of APS-C DSLRs.

AW: In what way was is IQ surpassed?
SK: In particular, we’re better than our competitors at mid-range ISOs around ISO 6400, with better noise reduction and resolution.

AW: Can we talk about the E-M1 Mark II’s new IS system. How well does it work with and without IS lenses?
SK: The in-body stabilisation itself gives 5.5 steps, and the Sync IS gives 6.5 steps with OIS lenses. 6.5 stops is actually a theoretical limitation at the moment due to rotation of the earth interfering with gyro sensors.

AW: What were the main challenges making the E-M1 II and getting it to work at such high speeds?
SK: The improvement comes from AF speed and accuracy, with the 121-point sensor. But this means image recording and autofocus need to be matched at high speed. This was very difficult, to maximise the performance of the E-M1 II’s new image sensor.

AW: Is the sensor related to the one in the PEN-F just with PDAF added, or are there more differences?
SK: It’s a totally different sensor, two times faster, with totally different construction. On-chip phase detection is also incorporated."

Whoa !!! In some ways, I feel the co-operation between Olympus and Panasonic needs to be more.
Also, I am curious whether the new 20MP sensor is another off-the-rack sensor, or one that Sony has SPECIFICALLY made for Olympus.
Either ways, in many ways, Panasonic needs to concentrate and work on its Photography limitations. Especially in comparison to APS-C DSLRs.

Not in my experience, at most I have accidentally pressed DISP on GH4, while on 5D I've pressed REC on and off at the most inappropriate times during run n gun shooting.
I think GH4 is the most ergonomically sound mirrorless/DSLR type camera for video shooting including the "mental ergonomics" of it -- there's no quirk that drives you crazy like with some others.. It's very solid throughout and it looks like GH5 has built on it, which is great.

I don't see anyone, who cared about audio would record through any mirrorless' ADC/preamp. And even if they did, GX85 could be a great B cam which makes absence of common profiles even more regrettable. It's smaller and cheaper than G85.

I know, I did read most of the specs of the Major Panasonic releases.
I am talking about the GX85, the Rangefinder version of the G/GH series minus the extra features of the GH series. Since the GX85 and G85 share pretty much most of the features (except weather sealing and a mic jack, and many not so major changes), there seems no reason not to have the CibeLike Profiles for the GX85.

Check out the thread below for some spec comparison between the GX85 and G85 which is basically the same camera with better ergonomics etc. There's a and first look from B&H on the G85 which is very informative.

Here's a video showing both noise and crop comparison between the GX85 and GH4. As you can see there is less crop in the GX85 and that's probably going to be the same or better on the G85. As for image quality I sold my GH4 when I got the GX85, but I will pick-up a GH5 as soon as it's released.

DJI X3 has a flat profile called D-Log and I expect to be the same on Mavic. Mavic bitrate is 60 Mbits the same as the X3 (phantom 4) and Gopro 4 and 5. This tells nothing about the final quality but the specs are similar.

I can understand why you'd want something smaller than the C100. Personally, I'd go GX85 simply because you can practically pocket it with the kit lens. Then just accept the limitations it has... don't want limitations? ... take the C100. Ultimately, you have to decide what you can live with. There are so many (too many?) great choices. For me, the XC10 wasn't even possible because you can't really "start" with it. You simply have it or you don't. Also, I don't need the extra features it offers and the form-factor is too strange and big for me... I might scare my daughter with it.

@DaveAltizer chose the right word; slaughter comes to mind. Both are good options, the gopro comes with the hand stabilizer but the ease of use, size and sensors for not throwing the thing against a wall its going to make it a no brainer. Hell, It's the first time I'm thinking I could use a drone in weddings as a solo operator, hit, get the shot and run, go figure!

Smaller or bigger area. I wonder if a multi-aspect ratio sensor (like the 1.86x one on the GH2) would be able to do IBIS? I am guessing that it may, but with lesser stabilisation  (unless it's a 20MP sensor, the same new one that Olympus will get, and ISIS may actually be sensor shift + Electronic Stabilisation).
Also does the newer anamorphic sensor crop allow it for being even wider now?
I am guessing Panasonic underplayed the talents of the GH5. It's looking like it will be quite a monster.

Very likely. I have a feeling the Panaspnic GH5 and the Olympus OMD EM1 Mk II may have the same sensor, one geared towards Photos and one towards Video.
