Don't look to their site to know if they have a G6, call them, because they never update it!

I just ran a burst mode test in Raw and got 42 the first time and 39 the second time.

On the Focus Beam,  I was told that Contrast Focus Cameras don't send out a focus beam.  I was kinda bummed about this.    I have a Metz 50 AF1 and it doesn't work on my GH2 or GH4.

Thank You Panasonic!  i have been a Canon user for so many years, Not Any More!  i'm totaly diappointed with the lack of respect for their customers opinions and needs! they become so arrogant and ignor their loyal customers.
I got my GH4 along with many lenses months ago and it's just great,  please continue your excellent job. Love You Panasonic. .

It would be a nice addition for Panasonic to implement a Cinemascope aspect ratio right in camera using as much of the width of the sensor as possible. It is nice to have 2880 vertical resolution for anamorphic but the horizontal resolution suffers. (Not to deny the value of the special look of anamorphic lenses)

    The sensor is 4608 pixels wide. 4608 / 2.35 is just over 1960. 4608 x 1960 is a few more pixels than 3840 x 2160 (9,031,680 versus 8,294,400) and just a bit larger than 4096x2160 (8,847,360 total pixels).

One would assume that they could do 4608 x 1960 at 24 fps at least. I would love to have that frame width!

Or they could do 4512 x 1920 (8,663,040) or stick to their current pixel count at 4414 × 1878 (8,289,492) for 30 fps.

Wow, Panasonic really wants my money!!! It's so positive not only from a features/price ratio, but from the fact that they are finally listening what people wants!!!!!!!  :P   :D  ;)

I had the LX100 in my radar, but this could change everything!!!

This was so informative.  Obviously you've done your homework Andrew.   I cannot wait to see some new anamorphic shooting as a result of this!  It's such a beautiful look.

Panasonic has been great about listening to it's users.  They might be up there with the very best, especially when it comes to it's cameras.

I don't see how 4k would have ex Tele, as I believe 4k is a 1:1 crop on the sensor already. You can use the 4k footage and crop to 1080p in post processing of course.

Is the Ex. TELE CONV. function available on the LX100 ?

It would give an option of a decent telephoto focal length, and based on this function with the GH2 and G6, the loss of resolution and increased noise wouldn't be too bad, especially with the added resolution of the 4K image.

We need tomorrow's ND filter technology today. They already have glass that when exposed to electric current will change its transparency...
Just imagine they could somehow make a ND filter working in a similar way and could be put in front of a sensor and could be driven by the camera/user. :D

The extra warranty makes it tempting.
The other thing is that in a years time when we have moved on to the next big thing, the Leica version will have a higher residual value.   Pay more now. get more selling.

I want a high end 35mm fast FF lens for fitting a 5 piece band in shot from a reasonable distance.     I have been considering the Leica 1.4 and f2 lenses that are very expensive.

It seems I will have a bit more choice soon so I might not have to pay full Leica prices for something around as good.      Still as expensive as Leica is, most of the stuff is quality and holds value.

As for this camera, I am tempted but will still probably get the Panasonic version.

I think it's going to be around $1300,  a bit pricey, but still really needs to be considered because of it's speed and wide angle.

The Verge reviewer must have no clue. I am sure there is a pretty sizable market for a camera with these specs, size and ability to control most anything manually with nice dials and lens-rings. This certainly went to the top of my purchase list. Having the GH3, it would be nice to have something that does 4K, and not having a 12-35 f2.8 already, this camera is a no-brainer. Even if I get the GH4 or some upcoming Olympus later on as my main camera, this will likely still take care of the wide/normal range.

This camera is worth it for the lens alone.  I don't have anything that fast/wide for my GH4.

I'd love it if Canon did something similar to better match Canon Cxxx footage colours but LOL that will not happen.

Here's a writeup with some negative points to make: small buttons, weak battery, he doesn't like the EVF

Will follow closely the reviews of this camera. Specially one from Andrew, when possible.

I was planning to buy the 12-35mm f2.8 to shoot handheld with my GX7, because of the OIS. But as stated previously, this camera have a lens with better specs with OIS AND records 4k for a lower price than the 12-35mm alone. I guess that the 12-35mm f2.8 might have a better optical performance for stills, but probably not a lot for video.

Will miss the flip screen, and touchscreen will be missed for stills - but I have better cameras for stills.

And to people which wants a single "do it all" camera, it one of the best packages on the market. Very good, Panasonic.

Remember the 7D II is a stills camera. If you look around the comments sections of photography sites it generally appears to be a very exciting release. Us video shooters have plenty of other options, so there's not much point in an article boo hooing about how it's lacking in the video department - 80% of the camera's target audience couldn't care less. All they need is 1080p - and even then there's plenty to be going on with what with all the different framerates and codec modes available on it.
