John Brawley and Giles Livesky show a raw workflow with the BMC in Resolve 9. Granted I'm curious what kind of Nuclear fusion processor is being used to show raw dng grades in real time, this shows a little bit of the massive potential of these 2 together.. (BMC, Resolve). It sucks, because the Gh3 looks like it might be amazing at half the price. With the other $1700 from the BMC plus the $500 on SSD's, that's a couple of nice lenses, or one really nice lens, heliopan nd, z finder, etc.. All good investments.

As a guy who just spent $7500 on a C100 with a Ninja 2, i'm sorry but this is bullsh-t.. I actually prefer Canon's image to Sony's, but where is Canon in all of this? Clean hdmi for the 5D3? That's throwing us all a bone. I almost bought the FS700. Sony gets a 4k raw upgrade from hell, I get a magnifying upgrade for my $6500 (now $5500) camera in October. To top it off, it is non-returnable.

This is the biggest self kick in the ass i've ever experienced because all 3 C cams have the same sensor and the same processor. (100,300,500).. And they COULD EASILY upgrade them..

Wow, I officially am going to buy this one. I love what Blackmagic is doing to the industry and how they are really pushing things forward. Really refreshing to see a company put their best foot forward and not just pump out 1080p cameras left and right that no one cares about.
 
What is every other camera manufacturer thinking right now besides what the fuck do we do now? Canon's ridiculously priced 8 bit 4K 1DC is going to be bought by no one when you could buy 3 of these for the same price and it shoots RAW!!! 
 
Wow, this is a legit game-changer if this camera is real. 

Putting those into a 4:4:4 space along with 16 bIt (or 32 bit float) in AE really helps with the banding, stairstepping.

I'd also say the Canon FD looks great. I like the 50 1.4 better though. Keep in mind, you're using a hacked GH2 & it can cut glass like cold diamond nipples with the right lens. (See recent Zacuto shootout with the $20,000 Fuji on the front of one running a Driftwood patch..lol.. Surgery.) A lot of people will say aim for the vintage stuff to roll the edges off a little bit. I use old AIS's. i bought a whole set on KEH in ex+ cond. for less than $700 & i'll probably never get rid of them... Lest i stumble upon the aftermath of a gunfight with no survivors involving a Masterprime exchange.

4K at 30 fps

buy an equivalent external monitor for the canon, extra battery, CF and you have same price of scarlet kit but obtaining a ridicuolus 8 bit MJPEG.. how they think to be competitive?

I'd ask why Panasonic, Sony and Nikon haven't even made a 4K DSLR, rather than bashing Canon for making it happen, but out pricing you.
 
At least Canon have one on the market. If resolution is that important to your film making, shouldn't they be applauded for getting the ball rolling? It is still the cheapest (by some way) 4K solution on the market.
 
As this article mentions Shane, you realise his film, "act of valor", shot on the 5DII, grossed millions and was well accepted by the film goers and critics? No one was sat moaning about it not being 4K.... They were just engrossed by the film.
 
It seems to me that feature lust and pricing might be being used as an excuse by people to not just go out and shoot a project.

I was gonna say, lol. It shouldn't overheat because that is one of the only differences in hardware to the 1DX.. Haha
