I add this, "the 120p and 100p modes of Full HD video are shot using a smaller, 1.14x crop in from here and 30p 4K imposes a still tighter, 1.23x crop.
So in 120p it is 1.71X crop and 30P 4K is 1.85x crop? That like gh1/2 level of crop!

I got 12-40mm at end because : manual clutch focus, unlike 12mm 2.0's stepping focus this one is smooth, good for follow focusing, and constant F2.8 is needed for indoor.
Also oly 12-40mm @ 12mm is a bit wider than 12-60 @ 12

Maybe its time to ditch my i7 and GTX1060, going all AMD this year! (Ryzen + VEGA combo)
Sick of seeing my 4core i7 is still relevant after all this years and 8 core Intel setup is still waay over priced (cpu + mobo is too high priced)
8core cpu at only 65W is massive! Intel 8core is pretty power hungry at 140w!
Quicksync is irrelevant IMHO, doesn't care since my GTX1060 does big improvment over my old GTX660 on rendering time, 8c16t >>>>>>4c8t any time of the day, especially on vfx heavy projects

GH5 Lenses
In: Cameras
I got the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 for good macro and working manual clutch focus (unlike stepping focus on the 12mm)
sure I loss the dual IS but these two functions are really important too
Having said that most of my lens are all Panasonic, though I will be getting Sigma 18-35 1.8 at some point later

Moral of the story is buy locally?
Panasonic and Olympus service in NZ is not bad, (I sent gh4 in for ripped micro hdmi connector and got it back in reasonable time), I have a send a few Olympus cameras and got back in a week, sure they are more expensive but you get peace of mind and quick turnaround compare to sending to overseas.

Exactly!
Just look at Sega consoles, Delta Airlines,Trump Entertainment Resort, Enron, WorldCom Inc, General Motors, Lehman Brothers.....From your link "There is no detailed info about the sole digital camera business."
it all grouped under AVC as whole division, as long they turn profit as whole it will go on, FYI the latest result is 41 billion yen in profit for AVC division for the 9 month result, compare to massive 29billion loss on Nikon, Sony only turn in 21 billion profit for their Image division

Like I said in the post you quoted, Sony is not the issue. Canon is the issue for Panasonic. And Fuji. And Olympus.
BTW, I haven't seen any report that shows Panasonics camera devision. Ive seen the company as a whole, but that can be air conditioners for all I know.

The m4/3 might be doing ok but its still nothing compared to Canon. And Fuji is eating away at their fan base every day.
But I do think Panasonic is in more trouble than Olympus. I don't know any Panasonic still shooters. And that's where the real money still is, not in video.
But there is currently way to many options compared to people buying cameras.
Someone's gotta go.
If you look at financial report of the Panasonic AVC division their profit and sales still goes up even with heavy bombardment from Sony new releases, financial wise they are healthy so wont be going anywhere soon.

M43 is not going down at all, I heard this years after years and yet M43 is still dominate sales in Japan while Sony with its glorious A7 series is losing sale to crappy EOS M, same for P&S market , as some Chinese companies have joined M43 this still have plenty of life ahead, open standard is the way to go! (look at smartphones, Chinese brands are catching up, while Japanese phone is irrelevant now, not long ago they were considered super advance), look at drone market, currently only M43 is available as integrated drone system.. look at action cam, only M43 have presence, which are all made by Chinese companies.
I still see many Oly user upgrading to e-m1mkii rather than to other systems... so royalty is still there, financial report from Oly and Pana is very healthy unlike Nikon

Here in NZ you can buy used A7S for NZD$1400 2nd hand, there was a few a7s sold for $1500, dunno why but A7II still hold value steady while a7s took a tumble

Seems like it will be for surveillance and automotive industry first, not sure when will it implant to their camera

The 2nd one shot with ISO6400 in the beginning, that much better than GH4!

its easier with small size sensor than big ones, definitely want a phone with that capability
-
Just get the A7SII, buy the camera you need not you want :p

socializing and work hard, sometimes find the right mentor helps a lot too, I started of as wedding videographer working for another guy, years later he went to work at TV so I got brought in too..

The a6500 has Touch phase detection af, so no reason to doubt that the a7siii will have it.
A7RII have PDAF and A7SII doesn't have it, A6500 have but not RX100 V, so yeah i doubt it, Sony have their own way of differentiate product line
My A5100 have touch screen phase detection af and it has been out for how long now?

No that is why I said A7S3, not the 2. The future model will most probably have a good DPAF. Must be..
dont think so, even FS7II doesn't have hybrid AF and that thing cost a lot more
Maybe the A9 will have it all!

Yep. As you point the AF is the problem on the pana. For this reason I will get the A7S3, which will be close in spec with GH5 but with:
way better low light
way better AF (I expect A6500 level)
swallow DoF when needed
better DR
I think u mean A7RIII lol A7S is CDAF only
-
Lowlight is not much better on A6500, I got both G7 and A6300 and their lowlight is not bad but cant hold candle to A7RII or A7S/A7SII, FHD on A6300 is soft which is a problem when I paired with camera which are sharp (ie fs5/a7sii/c100 mkii etc)
over the past years I got 2~3 cards fail (all using sandisk extreme card btw) so I definitely prefer dual cards for safety,
Panasonic and Bad Timing

On page 67 it said mirrorless sales increased, so most likely the dc will get the boot but not mirrorless camera
