At the Vegas Supermeet, Apple today announced Final Cut Pro X, 64bit. It is an absolute revelation. With one click colour grading, Open CL and all new 64bit engine, no rendering, no transcoding, 4K support and able to take advantage of more than 4GB RAM for the first time, Final Cut Pro X has been rebuilt from a blank sheet of paper.
At the moment cinema purists around the world are getting out of their beds on the wrong side. Two prominent filmmakers are attempting to squash the gold standard of cinema and home displays are taking all sorts of unpleasant turns with high frame rates and 3D helping to shift sets in the way that high megapixels help the unwashed masses buy cameras.
Now we know much more about the Sony F65’s sensor. The design of the new 8K CMOS sensor in the leading edge Sony CineAlta F65 takes technology first developed for consumer camcorder hardware.
