    My initial doubts confirmed.
(besides, confirmed by Max @MaxYuryev on his heads-up too)

I have read Canon's h265 4:2:2 is even harder than h265 4:2:0... but there are people still complaining with modern processors:

    In doubt what's the best?
    A Hexa-core i7-9750H or Xeon E-2276M with the Quadro RTX 5000 16GB VRAM?
    Or Octa-core i7-10875H with a RTX 2080 Max-Q 8GB VRAM?
Or yet the Octa-Core Ryzen 7 3700X but with the RTX 2070 8GB VRAM?

So, is it more crucial an Octa-core CPU or a 16GB VRAM GPU?

    AFAIK, I think so.
Here's another review with parts 2 & 3 to come, the best available out there for now:
Seems an improved lens with better chroma aberrations performance as well (minute 13:27).

Osaka BlackCat's use on D-Cinelike night footage coming from such tiny sensor size going with that low light outcome still really impresses me... :- )

Add blur and you'll overcome the oversharpened outcome, pretty neat if you have the highlights over control as well.

A bit awkward for shooters used to photo camera form factor, I agree but take a look on this convenience for casual shooting considering such outcome even under low light conditions in the middle of a street setup:

Here is a GoPro Hero9 Shot in 5K Linear Mode + Horizon levelling. Note that Linear mode crops and horizon-leveling + stabilization crops even more. So do not expect 5K resolution. This was shot in 5K and rendered in 4K:
This was shot in 5K Wide with stabilization high only and rendered in 5K:

    1. Bluetooth connectivity issues. External mouses and peripherals don’t work properly (including MM2).
    2. WiFi issues. Over 3x times slower than previous models in some cases.
    3. USB issues. Don’t expect to see speeds above 400 Mbps on any external drive. This is quite low even for a USB 3.0 controller.
The list may be longer but these are the most known issues so far.
Various reports and videos have been posted on reddit and YT by thousands of users. I won’t post any links to keep this thread clean but those reports are all over the place.
Some of those issues may be resolved through software updates but that won’t happen if nobody talks about them, right?
Apple has a bad history of fixing things, my 2015 iMac still has bluetooth connectivity issues and my 2019 4500$ MacBook Pro still has audio issues (pops, crackles etc).
I am also excited with the new architecture but i would think twice before purchasing an unfixable machine with major issues like these.

    Downgrades compared to a7S III
No audio input on a gimbal (without top handle)
    No IBIS
    No EVF
No HDMI raw (Ninja V is two times cheaper than Shogun 7 and fits camera size better)
No audio in 100/120p mode (a7S III has that option in addition to S&Q)
No 10bit 4K Long GOP (a7S III has that codec option in addition to ALL-I)
    Worse menu and touch AF
    Worse AWB tools
    Half-upgrades compared to a7S III
Looks like DCI 4K (4096 × 2160px) is ~10% cropped for 1:1 readout instead of being slightly oversampled like UHD
Better cooling at the cost of weather sealing
    Upgrades compared to a7S III
    Electronic ND
    Waveform
    SDI and SDI raw
Arguably better form-factor for handheld work
More professionally looking camera for a client that likes ... looking ... at your tools ...

    Did I miss anything?

No IBIS is a deal breaker for people used to already have it in 2020 for less than 6000 bucks.
That electronic ND filter also going along the a7SIII might be the extra plus against the most direct competitors today for growing their E-mount adopters basis indeed. Lack of future sales perspective from their side if you ask me :- )

Neewer make some reasonably cheap collapsible ones that look like they could be persuaded to fit.

I couldn't take a proper reading yet on your post... Sunday afternoon, daylight, family journey, you know ; )
Just here to let you know I am sincerely grateful to your contribution to our craft. I don't have a R5 either for my cats and flowers but from your input, I am buying a body unit to couple extra glass, so how couldn't I express my thanks? Accept my gratitude please, oh boy, how couldn't I listen you? Isn't a forum like this one the ideal place to promote a discussion? Hard to find tiptop modders (don't call it hack) of such category to help us to break the rules of the business. Accept my hat tip or you won't help my sleep tonight with your smileys : P
I just want to have you here actively posting so mission accomplished < 3 Do not shoot before to ask, that serves for both geeks and filmmakers.
On my entries, if you'll do your search, you'll be able to find some of them in several streaming platforms if you had no luck to have a TV network to schedule it nearby you. You know the world is too big (belly button is poor as compass). Film festival circuit is a bit restricted in their selection as much as their filmmaker invitees and so on. Let alone attendees, looks like people spend more time browsing today and other minor activity than much more productive stuff indeed. I concur, fine art nobody wants to see is a common place for morons, who else? LOL : X
Let's focus on your highest ranking tips and add-ons (c'mon man, you've saved my Canon glass collection!), much appreciated for those you've teased up with your findings. I'm eager to see more from you instead. No worries, dude, all my (reciprocal) love to share with you.
PS: I solemnly declare from now on to do my committed research on your personal blog and alike, next time I will dare to claim your presence to comment another absurd opinion of some other anonymous poster here or from somewhere else! Promise made (E :- )

Something to frankly annoy me is the way techie or geek people easily show a condescending tone to filmmakers when we filmmakers tend to see it in a full cooperative standpoint, even because we are who afford this whole industry to life.
There are no different sides over here, we share all the same for good.

Background: user TheBilalFakhouri has unlocked correctly framed real time preview for EOS M and Danne has ported it to 5D3. Previously, Magic Lantern high res modes had a preview image that had either correct framing but in unusably slow frame rate black and white or real time colour preview with wrong framing.
Now, however there is high res, real time preview with correct framing.
Kind of fun to try if you already own one of the supported cams 😁
