A 15MP Sony Mirrorless Camera will be Announced Soon
Video Hummus replied to androidlad's topic in Cameras
@wolf33d 's wait may finally come to an end! š 3 long years.... -
Vlog does have the custom view assist .VLTs...otherwise, I don't see many drawbacks to shooting CineD.

Apple should make a FCPX Lite for the iPad that allows you to preview footage, mark, cut, trim, favorite, and keyword footage and then bring it into FCPX on Mac with a few clicks and the iPad within a couple feet of the desktop Mac. Like a seamless project airdrop. It would make categorizing and find your selects in the field much easier when its fresh.
-
I'm curious as well.
-
Must be the new Mavic 3 Pro with 35mm sensor.
-
I counted 3, maybe 4 shallow depth of field shots in that entire gorgeous film.

At what, like 5Gbps.... Have fun with that.

Blackmagic Pocket 4K/6K vs Panasonic S1 V-LOG
Video Hummus replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Shots fired. I said it before, but I think the S1H is going to be a cult favorite, especially if Panasonic continues to improve it through firmware upgrades. It would have been a run away success if they fixed the damn autofocus once and for all. But Iām kinda exhausted with all the new stuff. Iām ignoring all the shiny new toys this year and instead diverting that excitement and energy into creating. -
Iām buying that EOS R5! Oh, someone pinched me...Iām back in the reality. Im just going to keep my GH5S and hope for a late 2020 announcement of a GH6, perhaps the last MFT camera from Panasonic. Should be good for the next 3 years š

Canon traditionally released under whelming specād cameras and now suddenly has the fastest readout of any sensor, better IBIS than Panasonic and Olympus, and 8K 30p RAW in a mirrorless form factor? Why isnāt that in the C500, their flagship cinema camera?
-
Iāll believe it when itās released and in peoples hands. Highly doubt Canon would sell you an R camera with better specs and less money than a C500.

Some of the best times was milk runs in my Ferrari. Itās only down the street but it only takes 6 seconds to go from 0-60.

75% lightning and composition, 20% lens, 5% camera with any camera made after 2016. I mean with the new way of filming... https://www.slashfilm.com/the-mandalorian-stagecraft-photos/ They probably could have filmed the Mandolorian with a GH5 and nice cinema lenses, definitely an S1H. You donāt need Alexa levels of Dynamic range when the background is a digital HDR screen.

I really hope they give us the tilt + flip in the next MFT camera. Sometimes I just want a tilt screen as well.
-
Yep! I mean it has a pathetic wimpy MFT sensor so maybe 1,800 š

Panasonic S1H review / hands-on - a true 6K full frame cinema camera
Video Hummus replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I think this is why the Netflix cert. actually means something. Netflix tested it, they approved it, most likely it will be more than sufficient for Sub-Netflix productions. -
I think they already have a really great target to hit...The S1H. Just delivery a MFT little brother to the S1H. Mainly: 1. 5.9K 16:9 video with their lovely internal codecs 2. Full Vlog 3. 13.5 -14 stops of dynamic range 4. Dual gain sensor ISO 640 / 3000 5. The EVF and tilty and flippy screen. 6. No crop 4K60/96/120p unlike the S1H. 7. Of course the excellent MFT IBIS. Lastly, If they can deliver some kind of ND solution theyāll have hit it out of the park and into the parking lot smashing Sonys windshield Internal RAW is great, but it seems the 10-bit 4:2:2 codec Panasonic has been iterating on is quite impressive. Good enough for Netflix. Hold up to normal grading with stellar results. Iāve come around on 6K. I think itās the perfect middle ground between the massive overhead of 8K and offering flexibility in post and a truly crispy excellent 4K deliverable (4K is just now catching on for online video). I think delivering a no compromises S1H in MFT form factor is very doable.

Well, with a 15 min recording limit. How does Fuji manage to pack so much horsepower into their cameras? They must have competent SoC engineers. After a bit of digging. I can find most of the DSP and CPU designs (all ARM based and from third parties except for Fujiās. Which are probably in house. Sonys are in house too.
-
You donāt need 4K when you shoot all your videos in a fish bowl, like Tony. Nothing stays in the focus plain anyway.
-
This is priced very oddly. New, unknown player in the market...Chooses MFT to make 8K sensor camera instead of say FF which has gone Super Saiyan in the market...Asking $2500-$4000K. Its almost like a proof of concept for other companies to take notice.

Fuji is barreling down the tracks. A lot of features packed into this thing. The virtual gimbal is interesting. I know it requires high shutters speeds but if your shooting video you can use something like Really Smart Motion Blur (some Hollywood movies have used this) to get back your 180 degree motion blur.

Panasonic S1H review / hands-on - a true 6K full frame cinema camera

The L-mount roadmap listed super-zoom in 2020. It's awesome tech! It just happens to be an exclusive in camera tech for only Sony! -
Panasonic should just use IR or ultrasonic AF to satisfy the 0-10 meters vlogging scenario and use DfD for the rest if there is some conspiracy against them using PDAF.

Is it in house Sharp sensor I wonder?
