  1. They don’t mention it on any promotion material or spec sheet. Independent tests say it is weather sealed and pretty well too...so maybe not an issue?
  2. I think if anything, the XT4 puts a hurting on MFT manufactures. It’s a crop sensor camera, but one of the much less maligned variety, apparently. Definitely IBIS is the new 4K. I absolutely hate using a gimbal since I have to with my non stabilizer GH5S. I’m seriously contemplating pickup up a EM1.3 and giving it a run. But I’m going to wait and see what Panasonic drops with the GH6. No weather sealing is a no buy for me for the XT4. I like to shoot in harsh conditions. The recording limits are also kind of a deal breaker as well. Are they a hard limit or are they they based on actually temperature readings?
  3. Hard to get rid of the warping without some digital IS to compensate for it. Olympus just straight up crops in to help with the warp effect.
  4. Sensor in the GH5 is 17.3mm x 13mm. Almost every site that lists the GH5S does not list the sensor size correctly. It is 19.2mm x 13mm Its “oversized” so the corners exceed the MFT image circle. So in the image you can see there is some wiggle room for the sensor to move around without vignetting (left side). On the GH5S the captured area, even in 16:9, goes right up to the limit of the image circle. The corners of the images would vignette heavily with a floating sensor on the GH5S. As well, the “open gate” 4:3 mode on the GH5S is actually a crop mode.
  5. Rather have them say this then blow smoke up my ass. Furthermore, it’s true. They are trying to break into a extremely crowded full frame market. I have no doubt the Canons R5 is, in part, a reaction to this. I would say Canon has a much better chance simply because Panasonic has yet to convince people of their AF performance, no matter how good their full frame image is or how many features their cameras have. Conversely, Canon can remove feature as long as they have good color and have DPAF.
  6. Yes, but if you want IBIS in the GH6 there won’t be a MAR sized sensor in it.
  7. Unless you need the slightly smaller foot print or the smaller price I would spend extra for the EM1.3. It’s already quite small and with the new TruePix processor will mostly likely be the one to get new features via firmware if there is an update.
  8. Only with the EVF. I find it really hard to judge when using the low resolution flip screen. So hoping we get a better screen on a GH camera. It's those practical upgrades that make a difference every time you pick up the camera.
  9. Yes, perfect showcase for the IBIS technology in Olympus cameras.
  10. That is why I did not buy a P4K. I have no interest in bolting a battery to the side of my camera with a cage on it. I’ll take the 0.5-0.8 DR hit with my GH5S and have an internal battery and weather sealing.
  11. I bet they could do if they removed the physical shutter mechanism.
  12. Maybe they need the integrated battery grip because of voltage requirements and heat pipes.
  13. Besides maybe cost, why would anybody do this? LOL, it’s reminds of of something Wall-E would put together from all the junk he found.
  14. The Oly always looks really sharpened and Video like. But I bet we will see 10-bit in the EM1.3 and EM1X in a firmware update.
  15. Why oh why did they not add 10-bit and ALL-I. I still might pick up a EM1.3 later this year to have a M43 camera with PDAF. I think with a pro mist filter the video can be quite nice. Im really quite happy with 10-bit everything and a 400-600Mbps ALL-I codec (200-400 of HEVC).
  16. Need to change the site name to FUJIHD to reflect the new reality.
  17. We will put @BTM_Pix in charge of funds and finding a therapist. He's trust worthy?
  18. Can we start a GoFundMe for @Andrew Reid so he can get some proper, professional, help? Anybody...hello? Still needs to review the SL2. S1H?
  19. Oh, yes! I agree. I mostly come here to talk about gear as well, especially for real hands on time with newer gear.
  20. This is forums is a far cry from the comment section of most photography related channels.
  21. The YouTube comment section is trash. It’s either filled with brown nosing drivel or toxic troll turds. There is almost nothing in between that spectrum. I would be tempted to just disable comments on any video I put on YouTube, but then it kills your discoverability because apparently Youutbe things important things are happing in the comment section 😒 But then again, maybe that is a hidden feature...🤔
