I have the R5 and the 1Dx III but not the R6 but the 1Dx III being somewhat similar (probably the same) sensor I may help a bit.
R5 FF 4k vs 1Dx III FF 4k is very similar as you say but the rolling shutter is a huge difference.
R5 4k 120 is miles ahead of 1Dx III 1080 120….. not even fair.
R5 4k LQ is miles ahead of 1Dx III 1080
On the processing of RAW vs. 10bit other than on an M1 or waiting on the new intel CPUs the RAW is way faster in Resolve PC. RAW is much faster. The problem for is mostly storage so it depends on your usage and archiving strategy. I would suggest downloading some files 10bit and RAW and compare on your machine.
So far I never hit the recording limit of the R5 and I mostly shoot RAW or 4k 120. But here is cold and I do a lot of 1-2min max takes with breaks in between. Before I was turning the camera off between takes now I don’t bother anymore.
But having say that not sure I would live with the R6 risk that I cannot shoot 4k…….. as I said 4k LQ is way better that full hd actually imo is a solid 4k….
R5 big plus:
- Rolling shutter
- RAW
- very usable 120fps
- Non overheating 4k modes FF and S35
R6 plus:
- cheaper
- 4k 60fps qualityAre these worth 2k more? Only you can really answer this.
High iso / low light capability ? Is there a difference to mention ?

It's totally puzzling to see Sony take the back seat when the mirrorless market has never been so crowded & competitive.
Perhaps they have gone indeed back to redesign that . Especially against S1H. Ι believe R5 was a surprise for them.

Ι can understand the love for such a lens.
But not using that on a modern camera.
CA seems terrible.

And Canon battery usage as well.
I notice that Canon released C300 III with an EF mount not a RF .
They would obviously see the Komodo's chance in market before they abandon the popular EF mount.

8k raw? Are they nuts? Who's going to be able to manage those files? And of course... Only canon log. No log 2 or 3 so it will have limited DR
Ι would love to see who is going to be successfull on focus on 8κ in a FF camera
Unless AF is superb this combination will be a hell.

Pretty sure a COVID-19 vaccine will be out before a new A7S.
R5 sent Sony back to the drawing boards for the 28th time.
Must be hard trying to exceed expectations in such a crowded industry.
Last ping pong was among S1 adn S1H . Now seems R5 is on finals and making Sony get better

Αpart R5 a BM 8k is beeing develoled
If Canon also enters the 8k arena with cine cameras as well I foresee 8k avalanche the next two years.

Closing thoughts: Maybe a good time to pick up an APS-H Foveon Sigma Quattro. Last ever chance and rare future collector's item?
Αll foveon users I have asked ( I also use previous foveon system) prefer SD1 instead of all Quattro bricks.
Just a thought.

The only mount that Sigma didn't put on the 18-35mm
And MFT.
They would have sold thousands of that lens in MFT ....surely more than fuji X mount

I think Fuji needs to create a couple of such zooms for its apc-s cameras. Like 16-35 or 16-40 f2. And 35-80 f2 or something in this range. I just don't want them to be humongous.
They allready have just not in every mount yet

Hit the gym then! And get yourself an assistant.
Is marketed as a "solo operator" camera, but honestly it still is a bit of a beast.Sure but it can be operated easily by one user only. Superb camera.

Rare set available on eBay... A snip at £70,000
Too expensive.
Normally a set like that (even if 65mm is missing) costs half of that price in market.

I just hope they will go on and not give up as there is some time they didn't release a new video.
They are in my top 3 technical youtubers anyway for many months now.

I would pay the difference only for manual focus clutch that olympus PRO have.
I can't comply with focus by wire only lenses
-
I bought it 1230$ plus taxes last month (adapter kit)
Since mark II is coming this is typical.

Question: I've got someone offering me a good deal on the Panasonic 35-100 f2.8 mk I. Is anyone using it for video and is there a jittering problem like I've heard the mk II has?
I would prefer the olympus Zuiko 40-150 f2,8 PRO hands down
Much better lens

Propably mark II is allready on door. We gonna see more offers like this soon.

I suppose you all using speedboosters ?

Has anyone tried successfully (meaning iris, AF, IS are working properly) a non booster adapter for EF lenses on BMPCC4k?
I tried Metabones BT2 that with new firmware is ok but noisy on iris especially on older lenses.
I tried Viltrox EF M1 that AF is not working on any lens I tried !!
Any other similar try like commlite or Kipon or else ?

Well, this video should be projected in here
