  1. Yeah I noticed with electronic lenses it tends to flicker. I use Vegas but am switching to premiere pro. Vegas didn't read my raw files properly. I hadn't tried comverting to DNG tho. The XT3 images definitely have a lot more dynamic range and color manipulability in RAW. I know there must be a way to batch edit photos, as editing every single one is crazy. Day-to-night time-lapses are my favorite
  2. Doesn't the Z6 IBIS work sort of like the GH5 Dual IS, where it combines lens stabilization and internal stabilization? or no?
  3. Yes it'd have to take a break for the time lapse. I do usually take them with still images, though I haven't figured out the editing workflow yet.
  4. Yeah I shoot them frequently. They are cool for weddings. I need to figure out how to program my gimbal for movement. Or buy one of those devices specifically for that.
  5. Thanks man, means a lot
  6. I don't take kindly to fungus in my house?
  7. I got mine for around $100. I agree it's a very usable lens. The ois is really nice for video.
  8. Used the Nikon 50mm 1.8 pancake version. This is the non E version multi coated. I am really happy with it, quite sharp wide open. Also used the Tokina 17mm 3.4, which I also really love. Its super wide but doesn't look funky at least not to me. The one I got ended up being in really good shape(super surprised). I also dropped the 50mm down a wooden staircase right after I unwrapped it from the package lol. Seems to be fine though. The seller said it had fungus on the rear element, tho I can't see any signs of it. On another note I've never shot with Fuji monochrome, its really beautiful.
  9. Would you use the vingette in a video for that purpose or just still images?
  10. I am not sure if I am using the correct terminology so bear with me. I've transcoded some files from my Fuji xt3 shot in H265 monochrome to Prores 422. I noticed the the transcoded files are more contrasty, the shadows are more crushed. The original files show accurately in Premiere. Anyone know if there is any fix for this? I couldn't really find anything online apart from the possibility that there is no way to correct it, whatever premiere reads is what you get. I can raise the shadows to correct it but that is a pain when it was exposed correctly from the start. I can always edit in HEVC but its a pain.
  11. I get the feeling lol. I'd not buy a speedbooster for a single lens(well probably not).
  12. Yeah the only reason I'd get the Nikon would be for the medium format look. I've got full frame (or really close) with my Fuji plus speedbooster. I've got the 50 1.4, 35 1.8, 24 2.8(this one probably wouldn't work so much), and 135mm 2.8.
  13. This new Nikon camera with some type of speed booster will probably be my next purchase later this year. Medium format would be fun to play with and I have a bunch Minolta lenses that would work with minimal vingetting.
  14. I wonder if I could mount Minolta lenses on any of those focal reducers.
  15. Yeah seems like a Minolta speed booster makes more sense.
  16. Slider and motion control will definitely give more precise movements. Its hard to get super smooth and precise gimbal movements. If you do use a gimbal I'd recommend using it with a lens wider than 23mm (APSC) and with IS. Shooting in 60fps and slowing down in post can also help a lot. A gimbal setup is certainly faster. But eliminating the human element and knowing your shots are going to be 100% on the money everytime may be more efficient in the long run.
  17. I'd prefur it. Xt3 grip is too small and the XT20 is worse.
  18. Full frame cameras are starting to come out cheap but there capabilities are low compared to something like the XT3. Only the top end of full frame is on par in terms of things like high FPS shooting. I'm sure that'll change eventually. M43 still has advantages, I think aps-c will be around for a while.
  19. I noticed you can't put the image preview on your second monitor when using resolve, that was kind of a deal breaker for me. I heard its the same deal with the paid version but I am not 100% sure. The other issue was when viewing resolve on my 4K screen all the text was extremely small and apparently there is no workaround for that either. I love system in resolve with Nodes, its very simple and clever. Those issues were a deal breaker for me though.
  20. Eh I don't know, lots of high end lenses are said to have character. Lots of people use vintage glass to get that look vs a lot of modern glass which is said to be sterile looking. That said I get your point, character could be a detraction if it doesn't fit the look you want.
  21. I am sure it will lack IBIS, quality of the body won't be great, and it'll have a single SD card slot most likely. The question is will they handicap it to only 1080p. If it delivers 4k and has latest auto focus tech it will be a winner for sure. Will it be cropped 4k? An APSC 4k crop wouldn't be that bad. Nikon sensors are usually excellent.
  22. http://thenewcamera.com/nikon-z5-coming-soon-to-compete-against-eos-rp/?fbclid=IwAR3EF30Mku-p2dmwQH8N7fUVNndrk7orMeo1ZAX89KajCZgrm_6xJCjTJjc This could be interesting. $1000 nikon full frame
  23. Yes an external recorder would bypass the record limit and potential overheating. You can also connect an external power source either from the USB port or with a dummy battery. Right now the app only does 720p. The GH5 would certainly be advantageous for longer recordings, at least a much smaller and compact setup. The XT3 carries a large advantage for stills. If you mostly use a flash though the difference isn't so big.
  24. Cool idea, I'll play. I just did a color blindness test with my friend the other day. There was a chart with 4 different colors and I only saw two. My grading results should be interesting LOL
