What kind of video would you see youself doing ultimatly?

When I was going in school for tv production, we would create all kind of video just to find our style, our way. And we would also participate to every contest possible... Overall me and my roomate got over 5000$ in various prizes in thoses 3 years. It's great to pay back a bit of gear too and a great motivator. I don't even need to talk about the learning aspect of it !

Doesn't sound like you're actually overwhelmed by all the gear out there itself. Sounds more like you're 'tempted' or 'feel pushed' to get something you don't really need (/actually have the financial means for). In that case... club it down before it has a chance to evolve into something worse. Bunch of us suffer from G.A.S. otherwise known as the Gear Acquisition Syndrome, wouldn't know much about it, I believe it's the never ending or satisfying quest for the latest and greatest ... (yeah, about that... don't forget... the first stage is denial ). Just use whatever you have lying around. Don't ask yourself the question 'what if..?'... 'that must surely make me a better filmmaker'... a better camera makes for a better camera... that's it. That's all. See, that actually doesn't make a better filmmaker and doesn't make a better film either. It's more about the vision and experience you have. So focus on those things instead.
Surely, you might hit a plateau where you've exhausted the potential of your gear and you need some new firewood to keep the fire going. New gear opens up some new creative freedom and possibilities. But you've got to have a need (and financial means or prospects) for it first. Imagine a first time DSLR shooter... they could get a full kit of expensive lenses, but there's nothing wrong with letting them explore the 18-55mm kitlens first. They will soon realize... 'oh, I'm shooting a lot of land-/cityscapes/astro starry skies... I'm using the wide range a lot'... or 'I love taking portraits' or 'I get noisy images in lowlight'. By USING the gear they have (not by comparing it online to specs of other gear) they notice what's lacking in their arsenal of tools and where there's room for improvement that would really make a change for them personally.
I leave you with this... (this kid might have a better attitude than a bunch of us combined )

    Good one andrew ! :P
It might seems like that - I'm not saying the m5 is a great video camera either, have it use though (For me it's going to be an expensive gopro kinda camera and for youtube). I will pair it with the 28mm macro IS only to start with. Very light combo with a standard FOV. Much lighter than my a7s with a zeiss 25mm.
When I shop around for camera and lenses - I shop mainly for a usable sensor and try to pair it with a useful or favorite lens and stick with it. Weird, but I like it. Each sensor deserve it's own prime in my kit.
The zeiss haven't left my a7s for the last 6 month witch ultimately will end up in front of a used nikon d750. Then I'm waiting for the laowa 15mm f2 FE to glue it in front of the a7s.
I had a 400mm L on my 7d for wildlife witch I'm gonna switch to a 100L macro i think (3x crop mode raw video)

Each combo have a different usage in mind. Then I pick one or 2 combo depending of the shooting situation i'm planning.

If I had 3200$ laying around - EM1 mk2 and the 12-100 would definitely be part of the kit

People tend to forget that around 6300k or cloudy is very often dial as a WB in the industry to get some of those warm tone back in the skin tone or for a sunset/sunrise. On a sony camera 8 bit 4:2:0 cam it should pretty much always be used when skin tones are part of the scene.
Same as 4900k if you want a colder look. The canon standard profile would look a bit more neutral dialed down a bit, the first one seems to be shot under a cuban sun to my eyes.

The first shot look very amateur or bad, try to cut it out. Or at least cut it in 2 different angles. After 10sec, I didn't even wanted to watch the video any further...
Second shot should be out of the edit, nothing is in focus and it goes everywhere / nowhere,
Third is ok but cut the first few blurry frames and then at the girl at 0:18 ...skip to 0:21sec. Try to stabilise the shot until 0:23 then cut again to the smile boy at 0:25 - Make those to shot match with the smile, it's going to be a smooth cut. Trim a bit the shaky end too of this.
Stabilise the shot #4 or remove it
#5 ... no need to go past 0:39, the action is done, the few last second are not getting anything positive for the story.
#6 is ok but try to get it a bit more stable of a pan, try wrap stabiliser
#7 follow the same as the shot numero 6
#8 would be ok if you had the girl landing on the mat - now it's kind of pointless for the edit, teasing
#9 stabilize the pan a bit and cut around 0:52
#10 keep only the middle where it's stable
#11 could be cut out of the edit - it's way to blue for now and clash with the rest
12 - 13 are good, they fit in
#14 should be cut, pointless for the edit
The streching is ok but cut the last part or let the shot breath a bit with more frame in at the end
#16 - 17 are ok but could be trim a bit
#18 should be cut off the edit ...or get the 17 out....or insert a different angle inbetween... it's kinda jumpcut
19-20-21 is ok ... could be trim a bit maybe

So i've survive until 1:33 so far....and I don't believe I need to keep going for 6min .... try to re-edit all of this in 2min maximum, then repost here. I will be happy to critic further after that...keep only your best shots for the final cut except if you need to include every single athletes in the edit, then you could think about sacrifice quality to please the "client"
You're shots seems to get a bit better after that. But I far as I can see you don't have enough good material for a 6min edit. It certainly doesn't add up to your story to stretch it that long, it's just painful for the viewer...
Your color correct ...if any was even done look like a log profile. It's getting quite accepted by the general public to digest a log these days ..it's have a vintage/hipster feeling to it....I still think you should do something about it. Get that 24p "HD" (24F mode with the 2:3 pulldown) out of the SDI port to an external recorder for a project and honor this beauty ! The motion cadence looks good on this and I don't even need to talk about the colors. 3ccd was awesome and it's a 4:2:2 camera!  It's a great tool - I had a lots of fun project in school with that one, Dynamic range and low light is limited a bit that's all

or even that 24p "SD" if you still have some tape around - "Records in 24 fps progressive mode like movie cameras, creating a true cinematic feel to the picture" according to Canon pdf

That goes without saying for everything, always test new stuff before a shoot.
There are some bugs in Sony's colour handling. The different behaviour of colour depth from A7S II to A6300 shouldn't be happening.
I have made a second profile with a wider sweet spot, it delivers closer results across the different cameras, and you will all be getting it for free if you bought the original.
I am also working on something else completely new and an A6500 review.
I am now mega happy with Sony's colour after all this work.
I might sell my 1D X Mark II.

Be careful judging the camera from these sample videos. You can't just an image from so many close-up shots. The food video looks better because of the close-ups. As soon as you go to infinity with wider lens, the EOS M5 and 80D resolution falls apart with a heap of moire and digitally sharpened softness.
Looks good on the end of a telephoto or a macro lens though.

It is definitely 10 M lenses and a couple of generations away (or a ML treatement away!) but I am glad they did make the first serious mirrorless camera. We need all the players producing good cameras and up the game
For most people dual af and color science (translate= nice pleasing pictures) is all they want. The price will go down really soon, and the M will be more attractive than the a600(a6300) in no time.
Also, the myriads of Canon dSLR owners would probably prefer a really capable mirrorless for casual use and/or backup camera, especially while the EF adapter is just under 99$, or given for free with a M5 in some markets. I would, if I was a Canon die hard fun, and there are a lot of those!
It is funny, that the first M was the one that made me really interested in mirrorless cameras for the very first time, I thought it would be amazing to have one of those as a B cam, the reality was far different though, and since then , I sticked with NX.

I did a quick test with a few random items - i was trying to have a lot of different colors in the image. I'm far from a being pro colorist - and I haven't tried yet to color correct those shots. Here is a quick explanation of the setup and the test.

2 red head lights bounce on a white roof. Camera set to indoor WB except for thoses images at 5600k (I've had one ctb gel in on top of the spots lights - and set the a7s to outdoor wb)
3 way - I've use premiere pro cs6 with 3 way color  (master ; checked) then I've use the shadow/mid/highlight dropper on the clapper on the black / grey / white respectively
Slog2 is a bit tweak in cam by myself.
The last image is a raw photo that went through lightroom with custom WB with the dropper on the white part of the clapper.
And the screen shot below had a custom WB on the gray part of the clapper.

I wanted to push my test a bit further but one of my light bulb just died on me.
I will try to match those shots or do a serious grade tomorrow
