  1. The workaround I use is to have a manual aperture lens mounted, and then go to shutter priority mode. This way you control the aperture on the lens, shutter on the camera and set the ISO to auto. Unfortunately this doesn't work with any of native lenses
  2. That was the main reason I bought it - just having a 5 inch screen up in the face makes focusing a breeze. I shoot a lot with the Sigma 18-35 at f/1.4 and the percentage of missed focus came down a lot after I started using this monitor. It also has peaking and all the assists + you can zoom in the picture during recording which comes in clutch if you're shooting an interview for example and just want to double triple check the focus after you already started recording.
  3. This is true. Fat32 and use some kind of LUT Calculator or converted to get your luts to 3x17
  4. Eh it's average. If it's overcast then it's easily viewable, but in bright daylight sun blasting situation you need the sunhood and even with it, it's quite hard to see. I mean it's just 450 nits, a little more than my phone. For daylight I'd say you need at least 800 nits.
  5. I have it. It's pretty good, works great for me. I had some issues in the beginning (the HDMI cable in the box was shit, and I got a dead pixel straight away) but now I use it on almost every shoot I do and I didn't see any issues. The 3DLUT support alone is worth the extra money over other monitors, and the way the OS is set up combined with using a joystick makes for a really great experience overall Let me know if you have any questions about it.
  6. Panasonic 12-35mm is artificially parfocal because the camera corrects the focus when zooming.
  7. I find it kinda weird, that no amount of lenses, chips, processing and firmware make phone videos look less.. like phone videos. I mean that Parker's video is beautifully shot with some gorgeous landscapes but it still looks like a phone video. I don't even know why.. maybe it's the oversharpening but I feel like there's more to it.
  8. I can't think of any other third party screen that can be used to directly control your camera with! This seems to be a killer monitor, especially for the price! Here's the full press release - https://***URL not allowed***/portkeys-bm5/
  9. Blackmagic Design today announced URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2, a second generation URSA Mini Pro camera featuring fully redesigned electronics and a new Super 35mm 4.6K image sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range that combine to support high frame rate shooting at up to 300 frames per second. In addition, URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 supports Blackmagic RAW and features a new USB-C expansion port for direct recording to external disks. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/media/release/20190305-01 Hopefully the price of Ursa Mini Pros G1 will go down now ?
  10. Yeah, I meant AG-AF100, I always confuse the naming on it.
  11. How there isn't still a successor to the AG-101 is beyond me. I know me and a lot of people would grab one, even if it was literally GH5 in a bigger body with XLRs and NDs and shit.
  12. I have an issue with the HDMI output on the G80. I just bought the SWIT CM-55C monitor. I'm using it with the supplied HDMI Cable and a HDMI to Micro HDMI v1.4 adapter. The issue is that while having my camera in 4k/25p, it sends out a 2160p25FPS signal which has strange noise or clipping in the absolute blacks. When I switch to 1080p/25FPS recording, the camera sends out 1080p/25FPS signal and that noise/clipping is gone. It's different from in-camera noise, it looks like peaking almost. I tried resetting the monitor settings to factory and changing the calibration. Unfortunately I can't test it with other cable It seems like that adapter is so bad, it can't handle the 2160p25FPS signal.. Can you think of any other options before I spent $25 on a quality short HDMI to Micro HDMI Cable?
  13. @BrunoCH @androidlad I just got the monitor and I've noticed something - does your tilt arm also has a little wiggle/play in the coldshoe of the camera? I screw it in all the way and it's not sliding but it seems like the metal part is smaller than the coldshoe so it's able to wiggle around in there, left and right.
  14. I mean from your pictures (which are very helpful!) I can tell that the top placement doesn't cover anything vital. You can still see your picture profile, resolution/framerate and the battery status.
  15. Come on Mattias, of course not, but taking away stuff like 1080p 24FPS? That's just ridiculous!
  16. How about you post the issue and your fix for someone else to find in the future if they encounter it again?
  17. Well I've never said I'm satisfied with RS on my G80 but there's a spectrum and a6400 seems to be at the far end of it.
  18. I see you guys aren't dead broke like me xD This is dead-ass cheap - https://www.saramonicusa.com/products/saramonic-sr-wm4c-wireless-microphone Of course Rode Filmmaker and Sennehsier XSW-D are on another level quality wise
  19. I love how small and minimal it is but I think it's too expensive. If it was more on the line of Rode Filmmaker, I'd be interested
