I think the problem is there are lots of options out there and if we are honest, there has been no clear indication of when or if there will be a GH6 and whether it's worth waiting for. If it's over 2000-2400€ and doesn't have 6K 50p, eND, good AF and lowlight then I'm nor sure what the point of m43 as a pro camera is. And I have a GH5 and GH5S and loads of lenses. Whilst it's been a great camera for me I really feel my GH5 doesn't cut it anymore on quite a few of my jobs. Mainly due to lowlight, noise and af issues. GH5S only solves lowlight problem.

When? Probably too late as everyone has left the m4/3 building. (I'm half way out!)

I've seen various reviews with people talking to the camera going on about how great the af is on the A7siii whilst the background pulses. Maybe better using face af?

They need to get their shit together and announce something soon as I just see people drifting away from MFT (me included).

After Effects has saved me. I do corporate and weddings. Had 5 weddings in 2020 (amazed to have any!) and probably about 15% of the corporate filming work I usually have (events etc). Last summer I got a big job making a series of 5 fully animated in house training videos for a pharmaceutical company. All After Effects. That one job saved the year otherwise it'd have been a total disaster. I was also able to claim 3 months of government grants for freelancers which was a godsend. My wife has a tourist accommodation business and you can imagine how that is going. 2021 and just earning enough to get by each month, pay the mortgage, food, electricity, all my subscriptions (work related like Adobe etc. Had to dump Netflix, CelticTv etc). At least spring is in the air here in Madrid! A bit of sun always helps!

Seems over priced. The A7Siii has the EVF. Is the lcd screen better on the FX3?

So what's the general feeling? The 4 rec lights and grey body not worth it? Is it a pointless camera or is there something I've missed?

That's 4 I count! (screen as well) Clearly sets it apart from all other cameras.

Exactly! Looking to move on from my GH5 and GH5S

I'm practising projects in Premiere (rusty) and Resolve but most of the work I'm doing is still on FCPX. To be honest, I've had a lot of work with AE over the last year so I've spent more time brushing up on that. Just looking to change from MFT but not sure to what!

A quick thought, will they make a 4K MFT version?

Yeah but a C70 is out of my price range! Especially with less work in 2020 and so far this year.

I just love how FCPX's timeline works for quick stuff. Just personal choice.

I use FCPX, Premiere and Resolve but I much prefer FCPX for any quick turnover stuff. It's just a really slick experience. I dislike Premiere and I'm only really starting out with Resolve but it seems quite good but just overkill for most of my jobs.

That's a shame because using raw for quick turnover projects could become a problem.

I don't know if has been noted or not but can the camera record 6K in Prores? That would be another importante factor if it is really a "Pro" line. Same with Raw in 4K.

I mean, is it something "reasonably " common. Because with my GH5 and GH5S I haven't had any real problems nor with the Canon C100. But I have heard other scary stories with BM, which is a shame as the camera looks interesting. * I use dual recording all the time. Don't want a card ruining a one chance shot or interview.

How common are "lemons"? A serious question.

I have only used a BMPCC4K once and it was a nightmare. It turned itself off, out of nowhere stopped recording normal clips and just recorded 1 second clips. Then it started working again. Random stuff. It was a rental but I know the owner and he said that had never happed before. Scarred me off BM. Really nice image though. If the BMPCC6K Pro has got rid of those reliability problems it could be very interesting as everything else looks good. Can it do dual recording? I mean, I know it has various ways to record but could I record on SD and Cfast at the same time?

I think many pros would love a C70 but it's expensive. So 2 BM 6K pros probably makes more sense

This does look like a really interesting camera. 2 things for me will be key, reliability and whether ProRes will be available in 6k. I would have preferred 2 sd slots, or 2 cf slots rather than mix and match. I like dual recording* *does anyone know if you can record on both Cf and SD at the same time?

Does the A7SIII have punch in to check autofocus whilst filming? I believe the FX3 does. That'd be a big plus. Any ergonomics that help the camera work like a cine/video camera instead of a stills camera that shoots video would also be great.
