I know more about a FS7 than the FS5, but I agree just the mount is worth the price of admission, and add the Variable ND, well.... Nobody is ever going to knock Sony off the top in Broadcast, never. Now Films, Arri has them beat most of the time. It is pretty amazing how they copied the FS5 body so much, and all the plastic, what were they thinking for that kind of money?

I find the coloring, I guess exposure a bit ehh. Little to underexposed, too grainy looking. Like really bad Fake film. But the story looks great! But I am glad to see someone still likes B&W though.

Oh Boy I had one of them. A house dog at that! There were goobers on the ceiling, and pretty much everywhere else when he shook his head. Yikes!! I would argue that things look too good with the newer cameras. Now I guess if you are doing a video in a hospital for learning surgical procedures, operations, or interviews you need it to be sharp as a tack, but for a movie look you might as well save your money and buy a Sony F3 or a C300, BMPCC, GH2, etc... Taking a GH5 and adding noise or grain to it seems, well seems silly. But I can see how it is sort of a poor man's one size does it all camera. But calling it a Cine camera is not what I have seen out of it. A GH4, GH3 was not either. To me the Only newer camera that looks good, no great is the Arri Alexa.

Probably not free in New Zealand I bet. Would not doubt not far off from what it cost new here! They are nearly 300 bucks used here!! They have a special look to them with the Hack, and bring big money sort of like the BMPCC does.

If you can't make a great short with that Canon C100 mkII or the 1DC you need to give it up. And both are just north of 2 grand. That is pretty crazy cheap for what you get. Buy both of those cameras and you have a wedding shooters dream set up.

You are not going to find great deals everyday but if you look they come up. I am telling you at times people damn near give stuff away in the US. And I can fly just about anyplace round trip in the US for 200 dollars or less with no baggage. So even if they want to meet in person well I can be there in 5, 6 hours. I agree with your points but there is a Big IF in it. If Canon Does come out with a Mirrorless FF this year they are going to Have to have 4k in it. So I don't see them letting lesser cameras steal it's thunder if they do?? But I guess the lessor ones could have a crap Codec and a big crop factor and the Mirrorless FF have great specs?

But you are right about the GH5s, it will be out pretty soon so we will know what it is and the price. I mean I hope it is the answer to a lot of peoples dream camera.
