  1. My vote is for a subforum, the ones who like those eternal discussions about politics without any real purpouse can be happy there.....
  2. Sorry, I couldn`t watch those videos more than one minute.....I can`t watch them in youtube ether....I guess I am garbage allergic...
  3. Really, I don`t understand why so much drama because of James Gunn was fired, he was working for a private corporation (Disney), not a public entity, if a private company you are working now realizes your past actions could damage the company future products, then they have the right to fire you, we are all under the same rules when you work for a private company, I am for sure, like many others. For sure James Gunn can continues doing his work somewhere else, it is not the end of the world, sad it happens to him, but those are the rules.....calm down people, not the end of the world, I am really more interested in the indie film market than holywood anyway, and Disney movies are total crap today, whoever is the director.....
  4. Great short Charlie, I liked it, I know the pain of bad sound, it is my biggest nightmare all the time, I also would like to do something improvising, but a good actor is hard to find in a budget…..yours here was very good, I would like to fond something similar here….keep the good work man!!!
  5. Absolutely, always do the job, and the RED RAW is your best friend when your lights screwed up, I am now planing to use it in black and white mode as a backup for an eClair S16 with 7222 and 7266, I know you know what I am talking about, if a shoot is screwed up for any reason, I am planing to use the R1 to emulate that part in post, the old R1 never disappointed me in the past and I am sure will not do it this time.....don't ask me how I am going to transfer the film.....but I am sure is going to be hell, prices today are from another world......I will have to become a student to get a good deal.....you know....desperate time, desperate measures....
  6. I also agree with your statement...FS700 could be a nice canera to have.....but the size and weight make it a breal dealer today.....I have a R1 MX and I use it only for very specifics shoots....and in a tripod....I will also go for the P4K....I can do a lot more with something smaller.
  7. My Gosh.......Cinemartin make me laugh like never other camera company did.....Amazing!!!!
  8. I will also shoose a C100 than a GH5/s any day of the week, the cinematic image is everything to me, I will not even choose a Sony camera, don´t like them ether, but the pocket 4K has the mojo I like, after the M50 I will certainly choose that camera.....
  9. only 60i in the ninja star, if you need 60p you will have to go with the mark II.
  10. To be honest, the image difference is little like you have seen in the videos, you can see the difference more during low light shootings, in the sky during sunset you see more color degradation, but is really not so much. What the external recording provides is more room during color correction, if you screw up the color temperature you will certainlly have a better chance to fix it, or if you are looking for a special look, also more room to play. Now, if you are good with ligthing, checking the camera parameters, and you really don´t make mistakes, then you probably are OK with the internal recording. But the ninja star is so cheap, the media (supertalent) so cheap, that probably later you will get them ether just to give you more peace of mind.... C100 mark I together with a ninja star
  11. Yeap....I also have the ninja star permanently on the C100, and only use the internal recording for backup. I got an almost new ninja star for 180 bucks from ebay and a SuperTalent 256 Cfast card for $120, really a cheap upgrade, weight added is minimal, so if you have a C100, this is the right way to go.
  12. I agree with everything you said, but the codec in the C100 can be easily improved with a ninja star, which is a very small external recorded which provides ProRess 8+ bit 422. I owned a C100 mark I and for doc work is a fantastic camera, the main issue to me is that it is too big to pass unnotice on the street, I really need a M50. The other thing you fall in love is the DPAF, it makes shooting so much easy....and you can also mount the C100 in a pistol stabilizer (actually only the Nedula 5100 can support it) and get very cinematic shoots.....if you add also a steadicam to the pistol to control the z axis, you are in heaven!!!
  13. Agreed, external recording in the C100 is better only if you are thinking to use a lot of grade in post or in extreme situations, really not much different in normal use, but under low light you can see some difference in color, specially in the sky during sunset.....also to use ProRes during post can be another plus for external recording.....I like to grade and test different looks so I always use an external recording, but that's me, internal recording is OK for most situations....
  14. Clearly this package is pointing to people who has no advanced knowledge in sound editing with the need to release quickly their videos in the network, I think this is going to be a very helpful tool for them, also it is very cheap, for the few who has real knowledge in this matter, there are other more advanced options....
  15. I got 0 on my first.....good, I can color grade and trust my eyes
  16. Now I know why Canon is your first choice!!!!!....Canon is always going to give you the best color without color correction I also use the i1, with a specific lighting set up for the monitor, certainly is not perfect, but close enough to deliver with good quality...
  17. Tangerine fell apart in several scenes, specially during low light situations, at the end was most noticeable since there were more low light scenes....
  18. In general I agree, if you only have an iPhone, go out and shoot with the iPhone, but to be honest, Tangerine artifacts were very distractive to me, when I was watching the movie and I saw all the effort and money spent in all the aspects of the movie, it was clear to me that the decision to use the iPhone as a camera was just a commercial choice, who knows how much money Apple put on the table, but I guess was a lot, today you can get a very good camera for almost nothing, less than $600 for a Canon M50, that's virtually nothing compared to what you are spending in other areas, or if you are really tie, $150 for an original Canon EOS M and ML to get 2.5k RAW, that's peanuts!!!!
  19. Skintones keep me away from smartphones....but for B-roll, this iPhone X looks useful....
  20. Just can't believe how good is the M50, it is a camera that you can get for less than 600 bucks on eBay!!!!....if it just had DPAF in 4K could have been a perfect camera......if the price go around 500 bucks I will get it anyway....
  21. What do you mean with good quality?, good colors out of the camera?, or a robust codec to grade later in post?
  22. Yes Gregory, absolutely worth it the extra bulk, but later in post, use the recorded sound from the H1, since you are also recording in parallel the sound to the camera, it is very easy to replace it with the H1.....
  23. Nice, but to be honest, in Davinci is a lot easier and accurate, you just need to include in each shoot something white at the beginning, I use to start shooting a white card and then continue with the shoot....
  24. That's not your business....or anybody else....be worry about the video productions you are involved in....
  25. I hear about the second coming for decades.....guess what?......never going to happen. And the masses still buying Canons like hot cakes......
