I'm with Andrew! I will forever keep my 1DC as it has now become a true god-like, extinct fossil. I'm STILL impressed with the IQ from this thing and it blows my mind that it doesn't get the credit it deserves. Put it next to any modern cinema camera today and I'm sure you'd be impressed with the performance of it. Roger Deakins had been spotted using it in the new "Blade Runner" movie, and they have an unlimited budget! Why would they choose such an older, cheaper camera unless it had something special about it? Now is a better time than ever to pick up a used 1DC. It'll go down in history, along with the Digital Bolex, as a truly special, one of a kind camera.

I bought the new Tamron 10-24 and it's fantastic. Weatherproof. Has IS and has really quiet autofocus. It's perfect for the 5d4 cause it fits the mount without modifying it.

I just did some tests with Andrews profiles. All really great. CLOG and Cine 4 are my favorite and I'd imagine they'll look great on an M5/M6 as well.

Just did a non scientific test with all of the picture profiles included in the pack from Andrew. This test was done from a "vloggers" perspective using the 80D. I came away really liking the Cine 4 profile.

I'm sure you would love the M5 or M6. The image is quite noisy. I'm not sure why but it is. I just picked up an 80D personally and so far am really happy with it as I already own a Canon1DC that I use for higher end projects. Don't worry. No scripture in this one.

I think the DJI Ronin M is your best all around gimbal for the price. You could easily have a 7D on there and put a monitor on the handles so you can check your focus manually.

Ya you totally can. I've been shooting full manual for years now on MoVIs. Having good AF is great but not needed.

I'm about to overhaul an entire YouTube channel where we will be shooting and uploading daily. It will be a narrative and I need to have great AF, small size for gimbal. I'll be using the SmallHD Focus on top of the camera with the gimbal. Once I add that monitor with a mic it becomes pretty heavy. Also I need everything in 4k and I want to go straight from camera to computer without any transcoding. I would have to transcode all the 5D4 footage and the extra weight would really suck since I'm going to be shooting all day everyday. Also, it's half the price! :P

Im about to buy a full a6500 kit. Is the Zhiyun Crane V2 the most current gimbal from Zhiyun? Any other recommendations? Im about to get it. What are your thoughts on all the offerings out there?

Yah! The 5D IV with Canon Log will essentially be the same as the 1DC. Its the same Canon Log that is optimized for 8bit color. Only drawback is the crop and the rolling shutter (which I need to test against the 1DC 4k which is also pretty bad.)

I have found a very significant different in my MJPG 4k because of that 4:2:2 codec. Its great...once you transcode it... Bro, I LOVE your stuff here. Amazing. It's unfortunate to me that the 1DC isnt as widely used. If people just changed their thinking of it to a proper CINEMA camera, like an URSA mini, Alexa, or RED...they wouldnt be complaining about the higher bit rate recording or lack of AF. Knock, knock was 100% shot on the 1DC. You can see it on Hulu I think right now.

I literally have the ability to sell my 1DC and accessories and buy a 5D IV today. I would not do it. The 1DC has a mojo to it that is sorta indescribable. A 24-105 on it looks amazing even at F4 because of the full frameish 4k. One thing people fail to mention is the lack of cut off you get with the 1DC AND the really sharp and really high quality Super35 mode. I've shot super35 mode for times when 4k isn't needed and it holds up better than our C100 because of the better sensor. You can buy them at a steal today on the used market. I always use a monitor or evf tho and that kinda sucks but it's worth the trade off. I basically pretend that the 1DC is like an Arri Alexa Mini or RED camera and it suits my needs well. No AF for video but amazing 4k.

Sorry to de rail your question. Really depends on what your needs are. Sounds like you're a Canon fanboy so I'd say stick with Canon. The 5D IV has really nice 1080p at full frame with the AF. The MJPG isn't as much of a pain as people make it out to be. It's ONLY one small step of converting your footage. I own a 1DC and strategically plan when to convert to ProRes and go watch a show on Netflix or YouTube while it goes As soon as it's done I'm so happy with the color and the image quality. By the way I convert to 4k ProRes LT with a low bitrate. It cuts my original file sizes by 1/3 and it plays on my Mac like butter. Super smooth and easy to edit natively off an external hard drive on my MacBook Pro and iMac

C200 will more than likely have dual pixel autofocus, built in ND, flip out screen, compressed 4k, canon colors for the same or less price of a 1DX II. Seems like the perfect compromise to me.

I believe that Canon is feeling the pain right now with their lack of speed. Sony and Panasonic have kicked their butts on the low end and Canon HAS to catch up. This isn't the 80s anymore. I love the fact that Canon is getting some competition. Competition makes companies better. Yay Capitalism!
